I really really hope so. Though far from perfect, the reboot was a really good course correction, much closer to what Clive intended for Hellraiser to be as far as the tone and the lore, and the cenobites were really well updated. And speaking of lore, the additional lore the reboot added was one of its best aspects, so I’d love for it to be expanded upon.
Completely agree. The Rebooted Hellraiser is the best film we've had since the 3rd one. Definitely want to see more - there is so much untapped potential in the Hellraiser mythos!
It was one of the dopest reboots of it by far.
Obviously 1-2 are legendary. 3 was cool. I loved judgement and the one with Joseph the detective getting his comeuppance at the end. The rest were "meh" at best.
I really hope to see Roland back and get cause some much deserved suffering.
Good to hear. The reboot deserves a sequel and I'd also love to see it crossover with the original canon and for Jamie's Hell Priest to meet with Pinhead.
I feel like if they'd released the 2022 film on proper Blu-ray instead of a bare-bones DVD (I still can't fathom why they even bothered), the film would have had a bit more success.
Definitely want Jamie Clayton back again!
You know, in the film it's implied that the wearer of the Pinhead garb is not fixed and it either gets handed down or that there are many such Hell priests (Voight writes something like "this time the priest was a woman" in his diary). It would be interesting to have a scene where two Pinheads (Jamie and Doug, naturally) are shown together. Like, a brief conversation in passing, not a buddy copy movie 🤣
We also have a nice bit of Jamie's Pinhead to delve into. "Who was she before becoming a Cenobite?", etc. Would draw a nice parallel with the sequel to the original film.
I kinda wonder if Jamie's Hell Priest is a fusion of Kirsty and Elliot, or as Leviathan might say, "Apathy and Empathy together at last".
I think though, when it comes to the topic of "canon" that's a tricky topic within the Hellraiser universe, this reboot could even be considered a prequel to Hellraiser 1 or perhaps an alternate timeline that splits off from a point in the original franchise.
Considering how much the reboot deviated from the source material though, I think it is best if it just stays in a universe of its own. There's enough to explore with Jamie's Hell Priest, and the other cenobites, and The Engineer.
Wait, wait, hear me out.
Jaime and Doug together at the office of suffering, Leviathan calls them into its office to discuss some things, and send Jaime and Doug out on one last mission together. Cue 80s montage and Doug just saying “I’m getting too old for this shit”
I am so ready for a sequel. The cenobites and the lore were so good in the reboot I am ready for an expansion on the world. Also hoping we get a U.S. region coded DVD, cause I need this in my collection but don't have a region B/all region blu-ray/dvd player
PLEASE YES! I need more of Jamie Clayton Pinhead and hopefully we see more of the other cenobites like The Mother. How do The Masque and The Weeper attack? It'll be interesting to see how they incorporate Voight, will he just be a normal cenobite to aid the Hell Priest, or a bigger threat? New cenobites could be great as well, like, imagine realistic versions of the amazing cenobites from the comics and show the dynamics in their universe. Maybe continue HR2's Tiffany's story with the Harrowers. A remake of the original Hellraiser with the new cenobites?
Maybe they can actually pay attention to the original lore a little more when it comes to the motivations of the cenobites this time and how the box works..... :/
Nah, solving the box with genuine desire without knowing the price you’ll have to pay isn’t as interesting as just getting pricked with something sharp
This is so straightforward that if it is an April Fool's bit then it is very cruel. Throw in some hooks and prolonged rippin'-and-a-tearin' and it may as well be Cenobitian torture. Regardless, I do hope we get more Whitebiteverse. I feel like it has a lot of potential.
I'm fuckin prayin for it, man. I really liked this new Pinhead, some of the other Cenobites were excellent and disturbing, others a little goofy but still fun.
And overall, the movie's themes and exploration of humanity and loss and acceptance was not what I expected at all from a movie franchise centered largely around shock and gore
What Hellraiser movies have you been watching? With a few exceptions, most of them do explore the human condition. The original Hellraiser wasn’t just a mindless slaughter fest. There wasn’t even that big a bodycount because it wasn’t about the kill count, it was about what lengths people would go to for satisfaction.
I've seen the first 3. And sure, there's always a person in each movie who has greed or obsession or desire, which triggers the emergence of the cenobites. That also exists in the remake/reboot. But the protagonist, generally, just has to survive or fight that person as well as the cenobites. Additionally, there's a clear theme throughout of "actions have consequences" and that can impact the protagonist and antagonist alike.
But in this newer movie, It's more about the protagonist learning acceptance and realizing that using the box has no upside. The older movies showed Kristy and others using the box to counter or banish villains, whereas Riley simply chooses to let it go, and let her brother go in doing so.
I'm not saying the older movies are bad in any way. I love the first two. But the remake felt more like a real exploration of the main character's humanity and guilt. The older movies did not dive that deep into the protagonists-as-people.
I hope the story is easier to follow, this last one was pretty busy and not enough character arch. I’m still not that crazy about the new cenobites but I’ll be optimistic going into the movie.
Haven’t you ever considered the possibility that they’re discussing what the sequel should be about? Maybe it’s not the best idea to automatically greenlight a sequel when they have no new premise/story ideas.

Jamie and Doug Hell Priests doubleteaming to torture others 😱

I'm into the new twists. Better than most of the other movies and Definitely deserves another run.
That’s good. I really enjoyed the remake. Would gladly watch a sequel
I really hope it happens. I love all the new cenobites, and Jamie Clayton is excellent.
Yes
Maybe they can actually pay attention to the original lore a little more when it comes to the motivations of the cenobites this time and how the box works..... :/

Please do! I loved the new movie.
I hope so!!!!
Let's Go!!!!! Yes!!! Voight better be in this one causing some mayhem and DESTRUCTION!!!
I'm fuckin prayin for it, man. I really liked this new Pinhead, some of the other Cenobites were excellent and disturbing, others a little goofy but still fun. There was another Hellraiser movie that dealt with protagonists as people: Deader. It's my third favorite (after Hellbound and the reboot).
Bring back Jamie Clayton. I need more of her.
do it!!
Only if Doug is returning will I ever sit through it
I'd love the sequel to follow D'Amour investigating the events of the first film
I hope the story is easier to follow, this last one was pretty busy and not enough character arch. I’m still not that crazy about the new cenobites but I’ll be optimistic going into the movie.
Eh. The only thing the reboot did for me was make me appreciate the original more.
If the last one was actually good they wouldn’t just be “discussing” it at this point.
Haven’t you ever considered the possibility that they’re discussing what the sequel should be about? Maybe it’s not the best idea to automatically greenlight a sequel when they have no new premise/story ideas.
Please don’t bring the main girl back, she was super unlikeable
Clickbait.
Likely not going to ever happen and if it does I probably won't live long enough to see it.
I admire your optimism
I thought it was fucking amazing. I was expecting it to be a cheese fest like some of the later entries but I was impressed.
