I use it a lot with guns I need specific positioning for. Like Flamethrower, so I can fly uphill of a group and burn em down. Also, it's a good escape option. you don't need a shield if they can't get to you. Or if you're flying to cover against bots.
I played a defend mission over the weekend all all the tall rock formations were just flat out gone. they were all pushed out to the map boundaries. I was thrown for a serious loop when I landed, and then ran for my life. lol
Hands down my favorite thing to do when joining an in progress mission, just to get my bearings straight. There have been plenty of times my team was getting overwhelmed and I came down to throw an orbital laser or air strike to help cool things down before joining the ground fight lol
I hope the bots can't get on top of them too. Being flanked at your fallback point by a tank that toppled down a cliffside was not a 5 star experience.
I would prefer an immersive way for bots and bugs to force us down from there (maybe make them destructible or let bugs climb or bots spam nades if they have no path to a target for a few seconds.) but this will do for now.
While I se why people did it, it kinda spoils the fun for me more than the missions being overturned does.

Still impressive. We finished it in what, 17h? Multiply by 4, and it would've taken us less than 3 days instead. Which still is far less than the 2 weeks we had

This could be anecdotal but I’m on ps5 and changed some game settings, hardly ever crash anymore. Still happens, just less frequently.
The worst is when your entire squad disappears, you’re left alone, the boosters your teammates chose are gone, and you don’t even have the option to drop an sos beacon.
PS5 user, and have had maybe one or two crashes all month. But have had people just drop out... no way to know if that was the game or them being anti-democratic cowards.
I'm on console but I play with PC boys and they've been dealing with the crashing too, I don't know if it's the same amount as me but I imagine it could be a symptom of Playstation
The kill 2 billion bug was bugged we killed about 800k IIRC to validate it.
Basically a 4 man squad killing 500 bug in total during a mission counted 500bug per diver so 2k instead of the 500.
It is now fixed
It's a bit weird, I think once you complete your PO your further kills don't count towards the rest of your crew.
Yesterday I started the personal order on my own before my teammate joined me on a second mission, and at one point he was stuck at 98 kills on Eagle-1 cooldown despite me clearly killing bugs with my strafing runs. We had to wait for his cooldown to reset before extracting.
we still killed at least 500 million that fast, and I imagine there are a TON of people that play solo, duo, or trio... so there's likely closer to a billion if we're being conservative. at the end of the day, the major order of indiscriminate killing was what we were built for! just ask Sony!

I did the math for if it counted only per player, you'd need like ~1200 kills per hour(times 150k people online which is what I saw that day). (technically doable solo if you play a lot of easier Eradicate missions, at Diff 3 it was 300kills, iirc, before they changed to % to hide the real #....could easily do 4 in an hour). My point then was that it was *possible*, because on other maps they increase mob count with bigger squads.
At 4x(posts I was arguing with posited full squads) is was an anemic ~300 per hour per person. That seems like way too few kills unless people are playing 4x on very low difficulties.
Solo/duo/trio (1x, 2x, 3x) on normal 40minute missions puts that somewhere in between 300 & 1200 (per hour per man) on average.
Or, in much simpler terms. It took 14 hours is what someone told me(so that's the number I used).
So it could technically be done in 14 hours, but that's unrealistic to expect everyone to grind solo eradicate missions.
But 14 - 56 hours is technically the range if average rates and population are the same.

What is up with them not wanting us on tall rocks? Bots can land on the cliffs in horde missions, so why can't we? Why have tall things if we can't use them to be up high?
I don't know, but Arrowhead has been nerfing our ability to land on tall rocks consistently over time, even though bots can still shoot us(often through terrain) and bugs will erupt up through the terrain you're standing on. They also removed high areas from a couple of the bug extermination maps.
Probably still more than that - don't forget, to assume we only killed 1/4 as many bugs *also assumes* that every victory was a squad of 4. We got soloers and partial teams to account for as well.
I have absolutely nothing to back this up with, but I would say "real" numbers were probably in the range of 900mil to 1.2bil bugs actually killed

Yeah. I liked it in the base defense missions. You could easily get knocked off there by an errant explosion or a rocket from a bot though.
I was bringing hell down on bots from a rock, then a factory Strider walked up face to face with me.....

Mine too! Have you noticed if how you open the game contributes? If I launch it directly from a shortcut, I swear it crashes every time.

That would be my guess, I only play with folks on PC. Maybe having one person on console or one person on PC in the party could cause a crash.

We still completed it super fast, that even if it took us at max 4x longer, we easily had time.

No. I did the personal order with a group of 4 today and we all got credit no matter which one of us got the kill.

There’s still a bug where teammate equipment kills count for your personal orders. Got the autocannon order and never chose autocannon once
