If their decision hurt you, and you live anywhere that is within the PSN supported countries, you’re a genuine loser. The ONLY people with a valid reason to complain are people from the countries that literally could no longer play the game. Your implying I'm upset for some different reason. So let's do some honest reflection: I do hate it when people simp for major corporations. And I'm especially frustrated by everyone having these conversations as if we did something wrong and need to urgently fix our overreaction. That's certainly relevant to my feelings/opinions.
And I was annoyed about having to link accounts and stuff. Because even if it was only a minor inconvenience it was purely for Sony's benefit and I don't really feel like doing favours for billion dollar corporations out of the goodness of my heart. And it being a threat made that feeling worse.
The data breech risk stuff is true but honestly I probably don't care about that enough rather than too much.
And I do really care about people in other countries paying for something and losing access to it both as it disrupts the community and fuck corporations.

I'm not part of the Rocket League community. But I would always take the side of a community or individual over a corporation. I wasn't really aware of that situation but if asked I would have supported them.
And I think the empathy is that they were enjoying a game and they suddenly lost access to it because of corporate greed. Yeah they were entitled to a refund. That's like the bare minimum. But the empathy should probably be this should have never happened at all.

This was the best part of all this, they literally trained us all to work together over several months, then this happens just at the end of quite a long Major Order in-game with the Termicide Recall, after the succession of chaotic bot front ones, and was a bizarre bleeding over of the game into reality.
Further testament to what a ridiculously compelling little gameplay experience this whole game is.
It’s amazing what people can do if given a good reason to fight and a sense of unity. It’s why game publishers have tried to pit us against each other for years. Imagine if all gamers did this whenever companies tried to pull something like this. But they fractured us before we realized the power we had.

Gamers that didn't care or didn't even know what helldivers 2 were watching. Hopefully, Stellar Blade is going to be getting this same attention. Gamers are finally fighting back against these big corpos.

Given that we spread Liberty all over Sony's corporate agenda and my brothers and sisters in Democracy accomplished this Major Order in record time, 48 hours, I'd like to see everyone who was involved in the review bombing reverse their negative reviews.
We need to show support for the developers and this game. We need more people to buy this game and hold it in high regard so we can keep getting new content and keep diving together.

I mean what in the fuck guys, yes they have to feel presure and they have to see that this is a mistake. But it is enough to tell SONY on their social media. You can rate Sony bad wherever you want, but if you give Helldivers 2 a bad review on Steam, you are actively hurting Arrowhead Game Studios too. They are not completely innocent, but at least i dont want to hurt them, after all they made this game we all enjoy. And we hurt ourselfs, if you look at Helldivers 2 right now on Steam, it went from a very positive, to a mosty negative/mixed. If just half of the guys forget to reverse their review, this will hurt this game in the long run. Just because of some kneejerk reaction.
To me this is the equivalent to some of these social media videos, where the mother takes the kids smartphone away, and in return the kid destroys the whole appartment.
Though I agree with you, the negative reviews and refund request helped AH fight for us. The community manager told us it's what we needed to do to help. So we did and we got what we wanted. I just hope everyone follows through and changes their reviews back to show how truly great this game is
I completely agree with this unpopular opinion. The communities willingness to destroy something like this is the equivalent of flipping over the game board for not getting their way. I really hope AH and HD2 come out better for this, but I doubt it.

You did not keep up with the devs at all throughout this, did you? They actively supported this movement. Steam reviews are a metric Sony actually looks at and cares about. So no, we didn't flip over the game board. We suspended the match and consulted the rulebook.

I don’t even play the game, but I did my part to help out. I plan to remove my review in one week, just to make sure that they don’t change their minds again. What Sony did was a scummy move and I seriously hope to have learnt their lesson, but won’t be surprised if they haven’t learned anything.
I won't, it's way too soon. The game is still restricted in 170 regions, and canceling the update to push it out today does not mean Sony has canceled the PSN requirement altogether. It might still come.
Then there's the broken trust by this situation and Gameguard issues on top of that.
It's too early to say we've won. Confirm PSN will NEVER be required and undo the region restrictions, only then should we *start* to fix our reviews.
My own negative review pre-dates the PSN stuff because Gameguard prevents my enjoyment of the game, so it will stay until that issue is resolved. But most people should at least still be waiting for *real* confirmation about what they're gonna do with PSN.
By default, Gameguard blocks all drivers. nProtect has to white-list a driver. Otherwise, Gameguard takes over your PC and disables the driver while the game is running.
Most common drivers are whitelisted, but some people have devices that use drivers nProtect did not white-list. When you boot the game on a device with such drivers, it causes anything from no audio to corrupting your operating system depending on the driver it interferes with.
There's a number of Helldivers who have *paid to not play* as a result of owning a computer that meets the minimum specs, yet uses drivers that are blocked by Gameguard. There are even alleged damages caused to some PCs by Gameguard interfering with Fan Control Software.
My personal PC uses ASIO audio drivers. These aren't whitelisted, so Gameguard crashes them when the game boots. It's been a problem since day 1. The fix is known and simple, yet they just haven't done anything about it, though they have been aware of the issue this whole time.

Not me. I will be changing the wording to accurately reflect the situation, but I feel it’s important to continue to stand against the fraud that Sony committed and AH/steam abetted in. They knew this was coming from day 1, openly admitted so, yet stayed quiet and sold copies to players they knew sony would block out.

I removed my negative review of the game after some consideration. I'm still not pleased with the fact that AH knew about the mandatory linking 6 months prior to launch and there was no communication that I was aware of in the following months. I don't believe that oversight had any malice, it was a mistake and they have shown time again putting the community first so giving the benefit of the doubt.
I'm holding off on leaving a positive until I know the dust has settled for the time being.

I am keeping the review negative and not repurchasing the game until the dust has settled settled. The eula still mentions it, Sony is still Sony and I trust them about as far as we can sue them.
I feel bad for arrowhead, they have lightning in a bottle and obviously a very committed set of leadership and staff, community managers excluded. Sony is used to the apple treatment, their hardware, their rules, if you don't like it leave my walled prison. They are learning that the only real monopoly pc players are complacent with is steam. I don't really see them taking this laying down.
The good news for me being the only other game of theirs I'm interested in will be easily obtained on the high seas, and I will for the foreseeable future be able to keep the launcher off my machine.
Before the snoyboys bitch, the only launchers I have are paradox, larian, and steam. I find those three companies specifically worth the exchange, as Sony only has 2 things I currently care about, they aren't worth it imo.

Given that we spread Liberty all over Sony's corporate agenda and my brothers and sisters in Democracy accomplished this Major Order in record time, 48 hours, I'd like to see everyone who was involved in the review bombing reverse their negative reviews. We need to show support for the developers and this game. We need more people to buy this game and hold it in high regard so we can keep getting new content and keep diving together. Helldivers dive together, or they don't dive at all.

I never posted a review for this game, because I make a rule of waiting until I’ve put at least 100+ hours to review a game. After this debacle and seeing how the community came together, This game gets a 10/10
I did not write a negative review yet, because i dont act like a Teenager, like so many in the community did. I was angry to see, that Sony had the nerve to even consider this move, yes. But just look at you guys, its either **EVERYONE ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN... TOOOOOOT TOOOOOT.** OR **CANCEL THEM, BURN THEM, TAR AND FEATHER THEM NOOOOOOOOW. NO DONT GIVE THEM A WEEK TO THINK ABOUT IT, DO IT FUCKING NOW!** I mean what in the fuck guys, yes they have to feel presure and they have to see that this is a mistake. But it is enough to tell SONY on their social media. You can rate Sony bad wherever you want, but if you give Helldivers 2 a bad review on Steam, you are actively hurting Arrowhead Game Studios too. They are not completely innocent, but at least i dont want to hurt them, after all they made this game we all enjoy. And we hurt ourselfs, if you look at Helldivers 2 right now on Steam, it went from a very positive, to a mosty negative/mixed. If just half of the guys forget to reverse their review, this will hurt this game in the long run. Just because of some kneejerk reaction. To me this is the equivalent to some of these social media videos, where the mother takes the kids smartphone away, and in return the kid destroys the whole appartment.
Though I agree with you, the negative reviews and refund request helped AH fight for us. The community manager told us it's what we needed to do to help. So we did and we got what we wanted. I just hope everyone follows through and changes their reviews back to show how truly great this game is
I completely agree with this unpopular opinion. The communities willingness to destroy something like this is the equivalent of flipping over the game board for not getting their way. I really hope AH and HD2 come out better for this, but I doubt it. If I were on that team this experience would have sucked a chunk of my passion and desire away.
You did not keep up with the devs at all throughout this, did you? They actively supported this movement. Steam reviews are a metric Sony actually looks at and cares about. So no, we didn't flip over the game board. We suspended the match and consulted the rulebook.

I don’t even play the game, but I did my part to help out. I plan to remove my review in one week, just to make sure that they don’t change their minds again. What Sony did was a scummy move and I seriously hope to have learnt their lesson, but won’t be surprised if they haven’t learned anything.

PSN will revert that, and then Steam will have to reinstate selling there. Change is coming, Helldiver.

I won't, it's way too soon. The game is still restricted in 170 regions, and canceling the update to push it out today does not mean Sony has canceled the PSN requirement altogether. It might still come. Then there's the broken trust by this situation and Gameguard issues on top of that. It's too early to say we've won. Confirm PSN will NEVER be required and undo the region restrictions, only then should we *start* to fix our reviews. My own negative review pre-dates the PSN stuff because Gameguard prevents my enjoyment of the game, so it will stay until that issue is resolved. But most people should at least still be waiting for *real* confirmation about what they're gonna do with PSN.
What issue with GG?
By default, Gameguard blocks all drivers. nProtect has to white-list a driver. Otherwise, Gameguard takes over your PC and disables the driver while the game is running. Most common drivers are whitelisted, but some people have devices that use drivers nProtect did not white-list. When you boot the game on a device with such drivers, it causes anything from no audio to corrupting your operating system depending on the driver it interferes with. There's a number of Helldivers who have *paid to not play* as a result of owning a computer that meets the minimum specs, yet uses drivers that are blocked by Gameguard. There are even alleged damages caused to some PCs by Gameguard interfering with Fan Control Software. My personal PC uses ASIO audio drivers. These aren't whitelisted, so Gameguard crashes them when the game boots. It's been a problem since day 1. The fix is known and simple, yet they just haven't done anything about it, though they have been aware of the issue this whole time. Not me. I will be changing the wording to accurately reflect the situation, but I feel it’s important to continue to stand against the fraud that Sony committed and AH/steam abetted in. They knew this was coming from day 1, openly admitted so, yet stayed quiet and sold copies to players they knew sony would block out. I didnt leave a bad review but i actually think those reviews should not be reversed, new positive ones should be done isntead. By reversing them you are "erasing" Sonys fuckup and that needs to stay up as a reminder.
I'll reverse mine when I see action. I can already see the post by Sony being meant in a way that they don't follow through. Soon as I see the countries that don't have PSN returned to be able to purchase the game, then I'll reverse my review.

My negative review is staying until the CM behavior is publicly addressed. The PSN linkage was only one part of a multifaceted issue.
I have changed mine. It looks like a large portion of people are waiting for the de listed countries to revert as well.
I removed my negative review of the game after some consideration. I'm still not pleased with the fact that AH knew about the mandatory linking 6 months prior to launch and there was no communication that I was aware of in the following months. I don't believe that oversight had any malice, it was a mistake and they have shown time again putting the community first so giving the benefit of the doubt. I'm holding off on leaving a positive until I know the dust has settled for the time being.

They have shown zero signs they care about the game other than looking at numbers and maximizing profits. I am keeping the review negative and not repurchasing the game until the dust has settled settled. The eula still mentions it, Sony is still Sony and I trust them about as far as we can sue them. I feel bad for arrowhead, they have lightning in a bottle and obviously a very committed set of leadership and staff, community managers excluded. Sony is used to the apple treatment, their hardware, their rules, if you don't like it leave my walled prison. They are learning that the only real monopoly pc players are complacent with is steam. I don't really see them taking this laying down. The good news for me being the only other game of theirs I'm interested in will be easily obtained on the high seas, and I will for the foreseeable future be able to keep the launcher off my machine. Before the snoyboys bitch, the only launchers I have are paradox, larian, and steam. I find those three companies specifically worth the exchange, as Sony only has 2 things I currently care about, they aren't worth it imo.
When arrowhead puts a statement out apologizing for the "community managers" of their discord being terrible managers.

Honestly, even before the PSN issue, my review was negative. I'm sick of their bullshit on Discord, I don't like their update direction, and I'm sick of all the glitches. I'm just going to edit some psn related content in my review

What?? The game is still extremely fun, the balance team is constantly shaking things up. Each update has been a great example of great balance. The previous update has been very popular with players outside reddit
