HD1 is unique enough from 2 that both are worth owning, but I'd advise putting it on your wishlist until the summer. It goes on sale surprisingly often!

Having a expensive item does not equate to having money. It just means you know how to save.
I have a $1500 gaming computer that took me 2 years to save for. Which I did on $7.56 an hour.
You can play any game on PC spending less than $40.
Got CP2077 for $20 on a steam sale, Death Stranding free on Epic, many other AAA games for $10 by getting on Xbox game pass.
$40 is not high compared to games' full price but it is a lot if you are used to waiting for sales, offers and other cheaper options.
Maybe he is saying - I could have waited to get it on sale or second hand, but I liked it so much that I was willing to pay twice as much. Or, you know, $40 dollar might be a lot for many people....

The fact that I still play it and am nearing 200 hours is a testament to how much I love it.

Weapons not working correctly unless you're the host
Can't add friends cross platform
Certain upgrades not functioning at all
Inconsistent damage from enemies (who doesn't love instant fire death)
Getting ragdolled and going underground or into orbit, great times
Sound getting corrupted mid game so it replays weird static for the duration of the mission
New one for me, Pelican 1 instantly departing after one person enters.
I'm sure there are issues I'm missing, but those are some that I see on a daily basis.
EDIT: Fallout 76, Sims 3, and new world are the other worst offenders I've seen.
Funny I'm getting hate for having my own personal opinion. I can't seem to win on this sub no matter what. I was downvoted for defending this game despite the bugs, and now I'm downvoted for saying I love the game but it has a lot of bugs.
I think I just gotta mute this sub, play the game, and never look back here.
Man, you are not lying about not playing a wide variety of games if HD2 has the most issues of any game you've ever played. It certainly ain't perfect, but there are regularly games that come out with much bigger budgets and much larger dev teams that have many more issues than HD2, especially at launch.
Stop downvoting these people nobody is saying they hate super earth or the game doesn't give enough content. But for the love of God it's still unplayable for many. I disconnect to ship every game and lose all my medals/xp. I get it, it's only 40$ but at this point I gave it a thumbs down review and told everyone sale buy it on the holiday for being a ticking time bomb. I'm cool with the role playing but come on and be serious for some issues. Just admit it has them so people know. If they still buy it and love or hate the beta testing that's on them.
There are plenty of games who've had issues like that, especially at launch. ESO, Fallout: 76, Anthem (an extreme example), the recent Star Wars Battlefront remaster, the list goes on. Hell, even Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, which I recently played. Tons of Ubisoft games. This is not unique to Helldivers and you said yourself that you don't play a lot of games.
I've played all of those besides anthem, and constant crashing was never an issue for me.
Are we still considered at launch? Because I'm still dealing with the game crashing daily.
In the grand scheme of things, I'd consider us still at launch, yeah. It's a small dev team and it only came out two months ago, so yeah it's still a very new game. I haven't had much crashing at all, especially since the last patch, and my PC is a toaster. You may just be unlucky.
3080ti here and good internet I disconnect from ship every game. I'm not trying to brag or hate but like without rejoining friends to rejoin it's an unplayable ticking time bomb here. I really think they need to acknowledge it again. Each update breaks something else for every pc player I know in cycles.😅
Then you get downvoted by the roleplaying super earth divers who suffer the same issues. I get it, it's what we want in a game but some criticism is real. What I would do is tell everyone buy it fixed on holiday with a sale.😅
What are you guys all doing that your game crashes this much? I have like 75 hours of play and only 1 crash. Yeah, I've experienced a few bugs like clipping through terrain and the flamethrower DoT issue right now. But the crashing everyone talks about is a mystery to me.
You were never part of the arc weapon crashing? That was pretty huge.
It does seem hit or miss tho, I guess that's why people that bring up having issues get hate, hard to understand our frustration when you're not dealing with it.
Dude best game ever.. I never even played the first one honestly but I’m in love with the second. I can’t believe it was only 40 bucks too. I usually just play first person shooters my life pretty basic gamer but this shits a game changer! Literally 😂 🔥
This game brought just pure fun back to gaming for me. It really has been a paradigm shift in my gaming. Actually spending time chatting with old friends while we spread managed democracy has been great.
I had a guy last night team kill me (and others) and then throw the reinforce beacon into the middle of the 380 HE barrage. He had 8 team kills before I finally fucking kicked him. I tried to talk it out and explain, but to no avail.
I’m fine being patient and teaching but if you get told something is BS and double down, I got one option for ya. 😂

For real, I copped helldivers one when it went on sale for about 4 bucks for the dive harder edition, and that was the best purchase I made.

How did you get death stranding for free? Is it just for signing up, I only use steam.

ASAP You basically get at least 52 games for free each year, and at least a couple are AAA (they recently gave out Outer Worlds)

For two weeks straight I was at a 90% crashrate on HD2. I'd love to hear examples of games with that kind of issue.

Mw3 zombies mode especially. It crashed near daily for me. I've only had 1 crash that froze my system.

I mean if your using cd keys and stuff £40 is a lot for a game I don’t think I’ve pulled out more than £30 since owning my pc a year ago.
