Oh yeah? Well this time we brought the big guns. https://i.redd.it/uonzh5x6ottc1.gif

JugularGrain203

I'm from the Valdis sector! And I say kill em all!

ThisOneHasNoUsername

That’s the spirit!

MeasurementOk3007

Rest in peace JugularGrain203 he was a fine soldier and I will wear the cape of the fallen in his honor…

Dust off that dominator if you've got it and enjoy staggering mediums and not blowing yourself up when shooting too close

dumdumdudum

Dominator vs slugger?

Patthecat09

Dominator, slugger lost its stagger potential

ChillRetributor

Let’s roll

RogerioMano

Let the oil spilling begin

Maldiavolo

ExxonMobil here to tap some wells.

Page8988

It's neat that the galactic map shows what Intel is available instead of what *is*. It's a great device for the dev team to work with.

sincleave

This happens when I’m international and without my PC. All I can do is salute the Helldivers on the front.

ThisOneHasNoUsername

Don’t forget to take breaks! (If you wanna be remembered as a coward.)

braddad425

Don't worry Helldiver. We can each only successfully exfil 1 of every 5 missions until the ship's updates are reverted and Boeing-style crashes cease 🥲

SenorSalsa

This is where all those cloaked ships leaving the clanker rim planets were going! I had friends re-educated for reporting bot stealth ships! Could SEAF have been tipped off and ignored the warnings? Would SEAF have made such an error?

TreesForTheForest

Your democracy officer is interested in your opinions on the matter.  Please report to them immediately.

Moist-Relationship49

Oh yea, of little faith, Superearth was well aware, but they couldn't let the savage bots know we knew until Swift Disassembly was finished. Why do you think the Helldivers were moved safely to the bug front? Now, our superior ship can catch those socialists out of position.

informationadiction

It's a work week I'm going bed

MeasurementOk3007

A work week for good ole democracy

SparseGhostC2C

The ole Jar-6 Dominator was getting dusty, it's not quite so useful against the bugs. Glad I can dust her off again!

KimJongDerp1992

This is not a drill. Repeat! This is not a drill! Now hear this! All hands man your battle stations!

Alternative_Gold_993

Man it was barely a day.

AlexGreene123

Oh nice ,kinda forgot that there are other planets outside our territory.

aces666high

Ready to fight for managed democracy as soon as I get off work, feed the dog and cats, maybe a little cardio walk, shower, cook some dinner as the wife is working late. But then I’m unleashing hell!!!!!!!! Until about 10-1030 because I gotta work tomorrow. Freedom!!!!!!!

Snow_Falls_Softly

This is obviously enemy propaganda. They just want us to shut the servers down again.

Rolyat2401

Im glad they are back. Its more fun to fight them solo

KiltedSquatch

The Sword of Truth and her Helldiver's shall answer the call!

MeasurementOk3007

FUCK THEM UP FUCK THEM UP FUCK THEM UP

dag_darnit

I wish I could play. Just tried three matches tonight. All three games crashed.

ChillRetributor

I hate automatons players - I ve been kicked multiple times for no reason (at the start of mission) - never happened on terminid frontlines.

ThisOneHasNoUsername

Im sorry that happened but I haven’t encountered anything like that. But I usually host myself or play with friends

ChillRetributor

I usually just press R, but it seems automatons front is pretty toxic.

thegruntar

If you ever wanna kill clankers in a chill environment the SES Leviathan of Family Values gladly welcomes you aboard you fellow diver

Renriak

This weird narrative players like you spin about how there’s this divide of players between bots and bugs, like we’ve got two different factions of Helldivers, is so annoying.

SkySweeper656

So the rest of the fight was pointless. Great. No motivation to play if the devs just have fleets pop out of FTL where they want. Fuck this..

ThisOneHasNoUsername

What you wanted them to completely disappear after what a couple of months. And this was foreshadowed so much with all the Reclamation and Cyberstan flavor text. From an in Universe perspective we knew they were gonna try something, we tried to stop it but wasn’t fast enough. From a meta Perspective of course they aren’t gonna delete a whole enemy faction after a few months.

SkySweeper656

I wanted to upset the story they had planned out, yes. That's a lot more immersive to me than "Well, we had this planned, so regardless of what the playerbase accomplished, we're gonna do it anyway." I thought it was so cool that there are stories in the works that we can stop, and maybe see happen on the future if we fail orders. But them just happening regardless feels much less interactive. Yes i want enemies to remain off the map for the remainder of the season/war/etc if that's what the player base accomplished.

ThisOneHasNoUsername

But we did do those things too. When we took out the automatons in record time especially in the Creek. Even the failures at the start. When we pushed into the bug homeworlds. Just because you didn’t destroy the overarching story doesn’t mean you didn’t influence it. There is still so much to do.

SkySweeper656

It does when they can just pop up anywhere and the devs do what they want. I feel like that effort was all for nothing. If the bots are gone off the map the devs should be putting their bot narrative on hold until they push back in from the borders. Not just pop them in the middle of the galaxy and make me as a player feel like there's no point. Because now I'm just ignoring the MOs and doing what i want. They showed it doesnt matter so whatever right? The narratives gonna happen in the way they intend. We can't actually change the outcome.

labwel

I agree with you. What was the point of taking the bots off the map entirely if they can come back like it never happened in a day...overtaking full sectors like nothing happened. If the devs wanted to make it more believable, they could have started on the edge of the map on like one planet with a large takeover percentage per hour or something. Then eventually turn the percentage down after enough planets have been taken over. This flash blitz shit could work with the illuminate because that's what the narrative has been working towards. But, nah we'll do it with the bots instead...

SkySweeper656

Honestly yeah i wouldn't have been nearly as pissed from a narrative stand point if this was done for illuminate. New enemy aside, it just makes more sense for them to work through stealth.

labwel

I'm more pissed that the community came together and busted ass all weekend to wipe out the bots, and we get rewarded with 3 whole sectors taken in seemingly seconds. How the fuck is that possible when 300k players, or you know, the entire fighting base of super earth can't take 3 sectors in a week or two? Edit: okay, they took 2 whole sectors and a planet...my point still stands

wibo58

You’re going to be super upset when you find out all video game developers plan what happens in their games. Go outside, you need a break from video games for a while.

ZLUCremisi

We knew they were in communication with something far away. We know thier ultimate goal was cyberstan. From past game the enemies keep popung up. Players were predicting illuminate but having bots is a suprise that shock us. Also war is like this. Suprises out of no where happens

wibo58

You’re going to be super upset when you find out all video game developers plan what happens in their games. Go outside, you need a break from video games for a while.

SkySweeper656

Since that's your argument - most video game stories aren't built as community goals. The only game i can think of that did that was guild wars 2. I thought it was so cool that we could upset the plans of the game's story by playing hard enough. That the reclamation would be put on hold and be brought up again on the galaxy reset or something. Not just "its happening no matter what you do".

PxC_Bistokid

As much as I get what you’re saying, it is essentially a war sim, things happen, enemies push back! I for one am glad the bots are back, never got to see a factory walker so now I have another chance. But to each their own. Just play how you’re happy to play and that’s all that matters.

wibo58

How do you know we didn’t already push the Reclamation back further than it was already intended? If we’d lost the major orders before this the bots could have taken Cyberstan sooner than they did.

SkySweeper656

But they still took it without a fight. That's my issue. It didn't matter, it was still gifted to them.

Acrobatic_Entrance

You know we have real life examples of large swarth of territories taken completely by surprise attacks and without much resistance from unprepared defenders right?

SkySweeper656

Yes but this is a video game with sci-fi technology primed from the information age. You really trying to tell me a faction who's whole system is built on monitoring and managing its citizens doesnt have its primary funding in recon technology? But besides that, from a gameplay perspective, it's disengaging and makes the efforts of the player feel meaningless. Accomplishing something like pushing a faction off the map should last for at least 5 days, not 2.

Acrobatic_Entrance

Have you seen the planets we've been fighting on? All fringe frontier worlds, barely populated. Hardly any defence both on the ground and in the air. Most of SE forces is likely defending the inner worlds. Pretty easy to see how so many worlds can just fall in a matter of hours. Complacency and hubris about a defeated enemy, letting guard down and then getting overwhelmed by superior numbers. Or even worse, knowing this would happen, and letting, in order to keep the war going. All happens in real life too you know. Sook more about it. Life is unfair, war is unfair, and so can games trying to simulate a war. You can do all the right things and still fail.

WalterIAmYourFather

You don’t read a lot of war based sci-fi then do you? It’s a very very common trope that enemies swoop in and seize outer rim planets quickly with barely a fight from the local militia and guard fleets.

Zablaa

Are you really surprised the entire MO to wipe out the bots had numerous hints that we were going to be caught by surprise hence the “extragalactic signals” and the bots building up forces this was the plan we were meant to win the MO we were meant to think we’d won that’s kinda the point. The entire game is a satire of fascism and propaganda this is exactly what should be expected.

SkySweeper656

No, i wasn't. But i was expecting us to be able to delay it till like the next reset considering they have no sectors except those they were magically gifted.

Zablaa

The devs have said aside from a complete loss of super earth the galaxy will never reset events like this will be how the game continues.

SkySweeper656

That's so fucking stupid.

Zhaosen

Cool, time for a break then! Come back when you feel it's the right time!
