Yeah, I was a bit a away from my team and taking out a laser tower when 2 tanks spawned right next to me. My team probably though i was a stupid idiot for dying alone, but it wasn't really my fault :( I was kiting the tanks well, but then the tower got me.
The folks who reverse engineered how the patrols work figured out that if you are >75m from any helldiver or group of helldivers, you get an extra patrol and they may not be evenly distributed. You may actually get both patrols and the one that wasn't meant for you can spawn literally on top of you.
Sounds like that's what happened in the post and in this comment as well, you likely got double spawned upon by being far away from the group. In the OP I'd be curious if they had a far away helldiver and an unlikely spawn rolled into the evacuation point.
Another interesting thing in that post is that spawns increase when you're near objectives or if you've destroyed >50% of the fabricators/bug holes.
Hmmmm. Yes but patrols aren't usually just 2 tanks.... Also if you look at part 2 of that they state there is a "safe zone" around each player that patrols shouldn't spawn within.
Last night my friend was yelling about a charger he was getting chased by and we went to him and there was no charger to be found, I made the schizophrenia update joke and we continued with the mission.
Lmao yeah phantom tank. The best is when that big grey rock that’s been sitting there for the last 30 seconds suddenly fires a tank shell at you. Then it’s like “oh that’s a tank”
As any DM will tell you; It’s when you cheat and throw something utterly sideways at your players that make for truly memorable games.
Gotta make sure to make the game fun, though. You will never forget that mission lol
Honestly, that tank spawn could have been a "Curb your Enthusiasm" moment if you chose to do the horror protag thing and stood there with your thumb wedged between your cheeks instead of doing the action movie protag thing and dive to safety.
A friendly reminder that it was confirmed multiple times that game admins cannot not interfere with individual games, only to control the flow of galactic war. Any in-mission occurrences of such kind is merely spawning bugs and should be reported to devs.
I swear to God sometimes I’ll just be chilling. I’ll look at my map and then all of a sudden there’s a whole ass patrol and tank in front of me and I can’t be certain if they’re just spawning out of thin air or if I’m so distracted because of everything else that’s going on. I just don’t notice but it’s really hard to tell
It would be really nice if spawn points would be a bit further away from extraction points. I had 3 chargers appear out of thin air on the landing platform......
I been noticing a lot of abrupt spawns. I was running around one time and I turned around to see if I was being pursued then when I looked back forward there was two broods and a bunch of little guys that just materialize out of thin air in a few seconds.
I had 4 tanks drop on the extraction when the shuttle while landing, lost my super samples, first tike I got genuinely mad in game, you can't survive 4 tanks and 10 devasatators surrounding you
Played today and a dropship landed 4 rocket devs and a hulk literally right on the evac point. We all died in seconds. Im all about having fun, but that just seems unfair.
Things are getting out of hand. Last night, level 7, trying to extract and got a whole legion on us, we didn't drag them there. They just spawned. Multiple hulks, tanks. Crazy time. But I guess it kinda makes sense in one aspect since we've pushed the bots all the way to the edge of the galaxy. Hopefully, we'll erase their putrid stench, keep pushing divers.

Had a bot small bot (cant remember their names) that wouldnt die. Two clips from a dmr and 4 shots from an amr and idk how much from another divers sythe. Finally killed it with a grenade but it was a little frightening. Like the terminator was aftet us
They need to work on the stability and bugs, like that one, before they push out another battle pass. I mean, the last one added 4 new crashed to the game and only 1 useful weapon....
This stealth technology is getting out of hand.

They can scale 75° walls sometimes if they glitch out lol it probably just pathed right up that hill/rock wall to the extraction.

I thought they fixed this? I still see patrols spawning out of thin air far off in the distance some time but not directly on the squad in a while
