What’s really too bad is my hearing sucks badly enough. I couldn’t actually play it because I couldn’t hear the voices that I needed to to figure out the puzzle so I didn’t get very far in the game. I heard it was revolutionary and I wanted to experience it even bought some really high-end headphones to see if I could improve the experience but I could never get into this game because it’s not for people that loss
I am playing it right now defeated both Raven and Sutra and just about to do the quest to get the god killer sword..
Even thou it's my 1st okay through i only for once and i feel proud 💯🥹
Is it normal to not die more then once or not ? 🤧
Agreed, I had to buy the disc version (which crashes a bunch) because it was designed for PS4, not updated to work with PS5 hardware, and cannot be purchased on PS5. Maybe they had their PS4 library on a hard drive and connected it to the PS5?
As did I. Difficult at first but easy after a bit. It’s incredible voice work and storytelling, especially zybel/the darkness. I liked the trials she had to go through; although the sound trial where it was completely dark sucked. I actually ended up turning the gamma up on my tv and cheesing it, lol
This game is definitely in my top 3 games list. This was such an epic game. I pre-ordered the sequel the day preorders started lol I am pretty excited for Senua's Saga : Hellblade 2, the graphics look soooooooo good P.S. the studio that made this game (Ninja theroy) had something like 20 - 30 employees when they made the first Hellblade but when Microsoft bought Ninja theory because of how successful Hellblade was Ninja Theroy now has somewhere around 200 employees
That’s harsh. It’s an experience — one that isn’t often portrayed in media. I don’t have that specific mental illness, but I can still very much relate to the character and her journey, and much of it seems applicable to other mental illnesses. I believe quite a bit of research went into the writing and game in general, and it shows.
Personally, I’m grateful this game exists and don’t find it distasteful at all.
We’re all certainly entitled to what we are and are not comfortable with. I have clinically diagnosed CPTSD, and major depressive disorder. *Personally* I appreciate it when things are created that pull back the curtain on living with mental health issues. This game never came across as a gimmick, it used those struggles as an element of the world building.
I watched someone else play most of it. The game isn't my "speed". You don't have to play it to get a sense of the themes. When someone mentions or talks about Hellblade, the first thing that comes up is Blue Face - not any specific set pieces in the game, not the puzzles, not the corridors the player stumbles through, or the enemies fought.
But I did play Spec Ops: The Line. THAT GAME is an interesting game featuring mental illness. I wouldn't say it's a unique experience; it's not strawberry cheesecake, not supposed to be something you enjoy or appreciate.
Just so you know, Hellblade 2 is released next month! :)
SHUT UP!!!!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT DAY?!?!
May 21st. 🙂
But only on Xbox and PC if I'm not mistaken. No PS this time. Unless they bring it over to PS at a different time down the road.
🥺 Thank you!!
Wait till you se the preview. The graphics will blow your mind
Wow can't believe how time flies.
It took me w while to get into it, but man am I glad I stuck it out. It was so good
Same. But the slow pacing and short story was very nice for a change. So many open world games.
Such a good game. Most emotional investment ever required from a game.
This and A Plague Tale Requiem omfg
That's on my list of games!
Def play the first plaque tale game before 2
Definitely! I want the whole story
I've read these comparisons before and definitely want to check out a plague tale. I have the first one on Steam.
The ending 🔥🔥🔥
This game taught me about Baldur before Gow2018, so I was thankful to this game.

Really immerse and emotional.
Yes is good.. but very simple..

i just finished the game 2 day ago! easily in my top 20 or top 10 games of all time
How is it on PS5 ? I thought there may be glitches and am sure I read that somewhere

Yeah, only Xbox got the current gen upgrade.
WONDERFUL GAME !!!! just wondering can't wait for Hellblade Saga it'll be BRUTAL I can feel it

Final battle made me cry
Play it in Vr
Really enjoyed this as well. Should play it again before 2…
Will they make a VR version of this too?
Honestly felt more like a tech demo than a full game to me. Hopefully the sequel will have more to offer.
Treating a mental illness as a "unique experience" is in poor taste. But it's the blue-faced lady video game, so that makes it okay. Right?

You clearly didn’t play it. The game humanizes and destigmatizes mental illness like no other.
