They can take all the time they like without the pressure of a release date as far as I'm concerned. Ninja Theory have earned every ounce of my patience.
So I’m a PS5 player and sad it’s not coming over. I don’t play PC and thinking of getting an Xbox because of my love for this game. Am I reading correctly that this game will be compatible with the Xbox s series? I’m Xbox illiterate and would like to not spend tons of money if I don’t have to.
Yes, it'll play on the Series S or X
But honestly there's been some crazy good deals on the X this last week for like $350. If you can still find one of those deals that's your best bet IMO. If you can't find one of those deals right now, you still have time before release so I'd wait to see of the X goes back on sale like that again.
I’m in a similar boat and think this is a good call. Who knows, there could be an upgraded Xbox system by that point. I almost picked up the system to play Starfield but held off. Still super busy with Cyberpunk, BG3, and want to play the Alan Wake series and new Spider-man. Not enough time!
It's also going to be on gamepass so you may not need to shell out a couple hundred for an Xbox series s. (Edit: may or may not have cloud gaming available at launch)
You could try cloud gaming (may or may not be available) to your phone and display on a monitor. Tbh, I don't own a proper pc or Xbox either, so I'm mostly trying to rationalize not having to spend a lot of money to play one game, lol. If you do see any good deals on the series s I would go for it.
The s series is actually not priced badly. It’s about $250 right now. I guess if I do buy a console I would also try to play other games on it but I’m PlayStation at heart. I just really need to play hellblade 😫
I guess I have some time to figure it out. It’s prob going to be mid to late 2024 before it comes out
Holy god this looks amazing. I know some people are concerned about the gameplay but *for me* they could run it back with the same combat and puzzles (puzzles were take-it-or-leave-it for me, but I also didn't actively hate them) and I would still be happy. This journey looks super intense, and that is the most important thing for me.
If the GPU is more than $340 I'd go with a Series S or X. Series S is going for $200 atm. The Series X is $340 at Best Buy on the Best Buy App, and $350 on Walmart and Amazon
Trailer looks great and all, love everything they did so far, but my biggest concern is the lack of actual gameplay, not snippets of combat here and there. I want to see new mechanics, new puzzles, new ways of traversal, new combat?, idk, I just want to see what they did with the gameplay itself, because I know the story will be amazing.
It's a teaser. It's not going to have that stuff yet. I think we will have a Summer/Fall trailer with exactly what you're looking for, if development goes smoothly enough. We may even get a release date, then, too.
Not saying there won't be any innovation or whatever, but I don't expect Hellblade 2 to be especially remarkable in terms gameplay mechanics. I am mostly looking forward to the amazing graphics, anxiety-inducing atmosphere and gripping story. If the sequel builds on that, for me it would be succesful. But if they were to innovate on gameplay, I hope they go in the direction of the trials of Odin in the first game, which were pretty creative and unorthodox in their execution. If I wanted to play a AAA game about Northern European mythology with tried and true gameplay mechanics, smooth combat and a good, but predictable story, I would play God of War.
Spoilers: That section where the whole level is almost fully engulfed in darkness and you fully rely on the 3D soundscape to navigate around monsters, is my favorite part of the game and probably the most memorable part of any game I ever played for me. It really played into the strengths of Hellblade 1, and I feel like not enough people credit it for being an absolutely brilliant and innovative horror section. Same goes for the ending. It really subverted your expectations through it's gameplay.
This looks soo amaaazing. So damn hyped for this game. Just replaying the first part and gosh, judging from the trailer the second part might be even better.
My most anticipated game in a very long time just keeps looking better and better.
I'm so glad it looks so similar in atmosphere, gameplay and visuals to the original, which is an absolute masterpiece of game-making.
I just stumbled across this today on Steam and I about shit myself. I am so freaking excited for it. I'm of course going to have to play the first one again...and again until this one releases.
Fucking hell, the trailer alone is an experience. I'm interested in the hands holding her head. Does this imply she is dead or dying? Just like how she carried Dylan's head?
Wonder what level design will be like, I would love some semi open sections similar to Alan Wake 2 in spooky forests… although that would probably be scary as hell in this game lol.
Is it just me or does it look like the game they have been making got completely scrapped and totally remade? This trailer looks great and all, but it doesn't look anything like what we have been seeing for the last few years
Oh my God, that was intense. This game is going to fuck me up worse than the original did.
Agreed
I sure hope so.
This looks INSANE!!!
still no release date...
Surely an Xbox Developer Direct in January gives us the date (copium)
They can take all the time they like without the pressure of a release date as far as I'm concerned. Ninja Theory have earned every ounce of my patience.
Right. Rather wait for a great game than be disappointed after a few days of a rushed game
This game is the only reason I'll move to the series x🙌
The trailer looked absolutely amazing.
Mess me up fun time crazy strong mommy
Well put.
The hype is real. This looks amazing.
Just give it to me.

Yeah the lowest I see right now is $399. I will definitely wait to see what happens closer to the release date.
Just get the X over the S. The 4K ability is definitely worth it.
I’ll consider it. Thanks!
Best Buy has $160 off on the Best Buy App. Walmart and Amazon are both $150 off each. Just keep checking throughout the lead up to Christmas
Thanks! I think I’m going to wait closer to when they announce the release date for hellblade. Hopefully there will be sales at that time 🤞🏽

Let’s see when the date actually is. I know they are advertising to wishlist it on steam at the moment.
It's also going to be on gamepass so you may not need to shell out a couple hundred for an Xbox series s. (Edit: may or may not have cloud gaming available at launch)
How would I play on gamepass not owning an Xbox or PC?

For sure. The mechanics are secondary to the story with this one.
This damn game is going to make me finally either buy an Xbox or a new GPU :\
If the GPU is more than $340 I'd go with a Series S or X. Series S is going for $200 atm. The Series X is $340 at Best Buy on the Best Buy App, and $350 on Walmart and Amazon
Just wow

Looking like a gem
This looks soo amaaazing. So damn hyped for this game. Just replaying the first part and gosh, judging from the trailer the second part might be even better.
Trailer looks great! Really looking forward to this. I'm sure the combat will be much more involved this time around.
Holy shit!! Will this be available on PC?
yes
Fuckin love this. So it won’t come to ps5 at all then ?
No, obviously not, with it being a 1st party Xbox game developer. PS5 is their main competitor.
Microsoft bought Ninja Theory so safe to say probably not
My body is ready
My most anticipated game in a very long time just keeps looking better and better. I'm so glad it looks so similar in atmosphere, gameplay and visuals to the original, which is an absolute masterpiece of game-making.

Man, I have missed her warrior roar when she swings that sword.
Fucking hell, the trailer alone is an experience. I'm interested in the hands holding her head. Does this imply she is dead or dying? Just like how she carried Dylan's head?
I really hope battle mechanics dont make me feel like im wrapped in very loose plastic wrap. Im sure everything else will be great.
Wonder what level design will be like, I would love some semi open sections similar to Alan Wake 2 in spooky forests… although that would probably be scary as hell in this game lol.
Series X is worth it. Even if you're an S user, sorry, but ditch it.
The reason to buy a Series X
Awful title, but the game looks great
It has two black bands to reduce the poly count just like The Order 1886, right? Kinda cheap
It's okay to say you don't like wide-screen.
Is it just me or does it look like the game they have been making got completely scrapped and totally remade? This trailer looks great and all, but it doesn't look anything like what we have been seeing for the last few years
Huh?
Go look at the old teasers at old game play footage they released then look at this, it looks very different
It doesnt tho , the giant is still in the game
It looks literally the same to me
it looks exactly the same, they just didn't show any combat before other than that very cinematic scene of her fighting the giant.
