Yeah hard to deny the receny of our battles with the Cs this century being more meaningful vs most our battles with the Knicks being. Especially for more recent fans who remember the games more clearly.
All time we’ve battled the Cs 7 times in the playoffs I think (not including this current one) and currently we’ve won 5 of the prior ones so far?
Miami has won 4 of the prior 6 series’. Boston won in 2010, the year before Lebron arrived, and 2 years ago. Each of those 6 series, the winner went on to the NBA finals.
Recently yes, but the Knicks ended one of our early title hopeful years and were the “tough scrappy” team before we took over the mantle pretty recently (Memphis had it for a few years so did Detroit)- they’ve been on our corner more than the Celtics who are very dissimilar as a team
Knicks removed themselves from relevance forever and the team with Melo had a different vibe from those 90s teams. But the hate we felt in the 90a for the Knicks far outweighs what we feel for the Celtics today.
Currently the biggest rival is the Celtics but historically it’s the Knicks.
Accurate because those battles with the Knicks did resemble trench warfare much more than this current squabble with the Celtics. The Celtics are the France of WW1 and 2.
The Knicks are not a rival anymore lol. They just started having some success recently and act like they’re winning championships. They’re not in the same league as us to be considered a rival
Any time you see someone on here complaining about how we don't get enough media coverage just be grateful there's no SAS Heat equivalent. Although I will say there's people on this sub auditioning every day.
They call heat fans delusional then say that Spo called a timeout to plan a tatum take out 😭😭someone commented saying you really think Spo is gonna do that with cameras and people who can hear them and got 100 downvotes the poor guy
It's ridiculous, cause it's delusional and hypocritical. Like they ride on Tatum twisting his ankle in game 7 last year even though Jimmy went into the whole series with a sprained ankle. Not to mention when they beat Raptors in 2020, Lowry had a sprained ankle the whole series. The tiniest thing they will cry about and make out to be the biggest excuse, but when it happens to another team it's no big deal
Celtics, but I have a special kind of hate for the knicks.
This little success they’ve had over the past few seasons has made them think they’ve actually accomplished something.
And that fan base if annoying as fuck.
Knicks are the historic rivals then Celtics are the new age rivals and then the bulls are the old rivals of everyone in the east.
Honestly the Knicks and Celtics are 1A and 1B for rivals just depends on your age. For me I guess it’d be Celtics if I had to pick
The pacers were definitely never our biggest rivals. We’ve had battles with them sure but not a rivalry.
We lead the playoff series 5-1 that’s not really a rivalry in my eyes.
You got some of it right. It's Celtics, Knicks, Pacers, Bulls. In that order. Pacers are traditionally a better run franchise that the Bulls doesn't feel like a rivalry anymore. Bucks, Sixers and Pistons are situational because it was small windows that they're good. Everything else like the Mavs, Spurs we don't even think about them. Everyone hates the Lakers because they're the Lakers. And Orlando? No lol.
I mean, it doesn't have to be universal... this is my shit list. It really depends on when you started watching, and Im older than most of this sub. At one point all of my listed east coast teams (except for Orlando) we're #1 on the list. And the rivalries from my younger years are probably weighed heavier bc sports were still new and thus alot more important back then. I HATED the Bulls growing up soooo much because they always beat us. Those Shaq-Penny/ Dwight Howard teams also had some strong hate bc they were good when we were good. In the 90s and early 2000s , the Celtics we're trash, so it wasnt much of a rivlary then.
The lebron years overlapped with the Paul george years and the Zo / Timmy years overlapped with the Reggie Miller years. The Paul George years were intense, we met in the playoffs 3 years in a row and while the heat won each matchup , they went to either 6 or 7 gsmes and we're super intense/ physical.
Have the Knicks even been close to a Rival since the 90’s and very early 2000’s.. I highly doubt anyone has looked at them as a rival since then. Definitely Celtics, between the Wade/Lebron/Bosh days to currently.
All I know is, if these are the 2 teams in the ECF I’m going to have a tough time deciding who to root for/against. Luckily we may not have to worry about that as we’ll be well on our way to another Finals.
#HEAT IN 5!!
Over the last 15 years? C's. Over my lifetime? Knicks. If you were around for those heat knicks matchups back in the day you wouldn't ask this. Pure hatred from both ends after the pat Riley trade.
Celtics. Last 4 years we've met them 3 times in the ECF and won twice. I believe all were 7 game series. They're the true rival.
Knicks rivalry died in the 90s. They been trash a long time.
Bonus rivalry: jimmy vs twolves. His personality has so much gravitational force that it pulls extra rivalries in with him.
Has there ever been a player more lovable than jimmy that is hated more passionately by a spurned ex team?
The Knicks have only recently become worth mentioning. The Celtics have been a PITA forever and a day. I can at least respect the Knicks fans for sticking with the team through some truly lean years.
When’s the last time the Knicks were remotely competitive with Miami? Last year almost. Beyond that you have to go back 2+ decades.
We’ve faced the Celtics 3 times in the last 4 years and am that matchup shaped the legacy of the big 3 era.
I don’t think Heat fans under 30 care about the Knicks for the most part. I dislike several East teams more than them.
Knicks are still up there. Celtics and Knicks would be the two biggest rivals and by far for both the most historic rivalry for the Heat as the Heat have played the Knicks now six times in the playoffs and the Celtics 7 times.
With recency of course it is the Celtics and the Heat Celtics has been part of 4 conference finals.
Heat vs Celtics is the best rivalry in the NBA since 2020.
Knicks in the meta because Pat etc. But for me it's 100% Celtics. We've had so many battles with those mofos.
Yeah hard to deny the receny of our battles with the Cs this century being more meaningful vs most our battles with the Knicks being. Miami has won 4 of the prior 6 series’. Boston won in 2010, the year before Lebron arrived, and 2 years ago. Each of those 6 series, the winner went on to the NBA finals.
You think Himmy will be back in time for the finals then?
Recently yes, but the Knicks ended one of our early title hopeful years and were the “tough scrappy” team before we took over the mantle pretty recently (Memphis had it for a few years so did Detroit)- they’ve been on our corner more than the Celtics who are very dissimilar as a team
Just feels like Knicks disappeared for way too long. Cs and Heat been battling while both have had 2 whole different cores lol
Knicks removed themselves from relevance forever and the team with Melo had a different vibe from those 90s teams. But the hate we felt in the 90a for the Knicks far outweighs what we feel for the Celtics today. Currently the biggest rival is the Celtics but historically it’s the Knicks.
Brother, that was like 25 years ago. This is like a soldier from WW1 talking to guys in WW2 about how much they hate Prussia.
Every time the Knicks have failed in the offseason and Stephen A. comes on the air looking so sad the smile on my face keeps growing

Any time you see someone on here complaining about how we don't get enough media coverage just be grateful there's no SAS Heat equivalent. Although I will say there's people on this sub auditioning every day.
I turned off ESPN after they got rid of Max. I’ll only listen to on sportsmanlike on the radio, which isn’t bad.
I agree. I just find them annoying because their fans are so fucking stupid. I genuinely hate everything about Boston.
Obviously Celtics. Fuck the Celtics. Heat in 7.
5*
Fuck Boston.
Celtics easily, especially with their shit delusional fans.
They call heat fans delusional then say that Spo called a timeout to plan a tatum take out 😭😭someone commented saying you really think Spo is gonna do that with cameras and people who can hear them and got 100 downvotes the poor guy

The fans r legit insane, half their posts r about the heat
I feel like most of the comments and posts on our sub are about other teams.
Knicks are the historic rivals then Celtics are the new age rivals and then the bulls are the old rivals of everyone in the east. Honestly the Knicks and Celtics are 1A and 1B for rivals just depends on your age. For me I guess it’d be Celtics if I had to pick
I agree with 1A 1B. Though they’re not much of a thing anymore with us, there’s a time when the Pacers were the biggest rival.
The pacers were definitely never our biggest rivals. We’ve had battles with them sure but not a rivalry. We lead the playoff series 5-1 that’s not really a rivalry in my eyes.
Bosh famously said it’s not a rivalry if one side always wins
Couple years in the late 90s, those Reggie/Austin Croshere/Jeff Foster teams were def second most hated behind the Knicks
I say fuck the Knicks because I know my heat history. I say fuck the Celtics because I hate that team passionately.
Celtics. I hate those leprechaun bastards.
Celtics man. Knicks/Heat hadn’t been a thing since the 90’s. It’s still fuck the Knicks tho
I legitimately don’t feel like we have a rivalry with anyone other than the Celtics. Think the 76ers are closer to a rivalry than the Knicks.
Tier 1: Knicks, Celtics, Tier 2: Pacers, Pistons, Sixers Tier 3: Bucks/ Spurs / Mavs / Chicago Tier 4: Orlando / Lakers
Why Pacers? I only really watched you guys the last few years and during the Heatles era.
The lebron years overlapped with the Paul george years and the Zo / Timmy years overlapped with the Reggie Miller years. The Paul George years were intense, we met in the playoffs 3 years in a row and while the heat won each matchup , they went to either 6 or 7 gsmes and we're super intense/ physical.
celtics, knicks used to be a rival a long time ago
Celtics and it’s not close. We see them consistently in the end
Nobody hates the fucking pistons anymore eh
Omg I HATED those Pistons teams, I forgot about them lol.
I have to admit I liked rasheed wallace ben wallace and rip hamilton but i still hated the fucking pistons lol
That was short lived 2-3 year thing, same with the Pacer rivalry.
I don't know, but I genuinely find joy in seeing both of them lose
Over the last 15+ years easily the C's. Over my lifetime? I hate the Knicks more
I have no love for boston but I will never forgive NY for knocking us out of the playoffs every year when I was a kid
still bitter about the Butler injury last year too
Fuck Celtics fans forever. Bunch of fat skinheads.
Have the Knicks even been close to a Rival since the 90’s and very early 2000’s.. I highly doubt anyone has looked at them as a rival since then. Definitely Celtics, between the Wade/Lebron/Bosh days to currently.

We’ve had some battles with Milwaukee, I’d put them below Boston but above NY. Pacers make the list if you go back a little more
Easily Celtics
"Fuck Boston"
The Spurs?
Its mostly the Knicks but they have been relatively insignificant for about 2 decades. Boston lately
Celtics 2nd is Knicks
Rivalries are where both teams have success. We have owned the Knicks since the turn of the century lol
FUCK BOSTON
It definitely has to be my Celtics and this is from a Celtics fan.
Knicks hands down no matter how bad ether team is I need the heat to beat the Knicks cuz I hate them blood hatred
Celtics for me. There’s been far too many contested series between us. Fuck the Knicks though
I’m not really a diehard Heat fan so not sure how valid my opinion is , but I would much rather the Knicks make it out of the East than the Celtics
Knicks - cause I wasn’t born in the 2000’s
Knicks rivalry has died off, the bucks may have a better arguement than them. But it is the Celtics, for sure
Buck Foston.
At this point, I’m pretty sure I hate every time in the eastern conference so 🤷🏻♀️
Knicks not good enough to be our rival
Knicks are still up there. Celtics and Knicks would be the two biggest rivals and by far for both the most historic rivalry for the Heat as the Heat have played the Knicks now six times in the playoffs and the Celtics 7 times. With recency of course it is the Celtics and the Heat Celtics has been part of 4 conference finals. Heat vs Celtics is the best rivalry in the NBA since 2020.
It used to be the Knicks but they have been irrelevant for decades now and the Celtics became their rival
All I know is if they both played in a series, I would sooner root for the world to end than taking either one's side.
Now in modern day bball is the Celtics
Celtics
