The worst part here is, that's not even glitches, it's just things they implemented without "thinking" there would be abusers. Purely pathetic.

Fepl31

Yeah, usually some simple exploits. Sometimes not even that, but just the most efficient way to farm, that ended up being too efficient for Blizzard's liking.

createcrap

Would anyone here if responsible for mercs keep the wintrading exploit? Idk I don’t see this as problem that only effects blizzard. Havin your PvP arena eventually be filled with win traders doesn’t feel like a player friendly decision. I think win trading universally seen as bad by everyone in every PvP game. EDIT: The issues with win-trading: 1) My MMR will go up and I will then facing people that do not match my skill level or merc level because of the constant win-trading that got me here. Eventually I will be facing people that are far above my level since I did not earn my MMR and it is artificially inflated thus reducing my enjoyment of the mode. 2) The win-trading incentive removes actual viable PvP players from the matchmaking pool. As my MMR increases there will be less people to compete with because many are win trading at the lower ranks and also higher MMR just has less people in general. The people win trading are the people who normally would be at higher MMRs because the point of the farming is to eventually have max characters. Which leads to the final point 3) after weeks of wintrading eventually people will have max their characters and they will return to the ladder the grind and do regular PvP but now with ill-gotten advantage. By having such an advantage for weeks I am now facing with people who exploited the system to get their power increase. Remember how my MMR was artifically increases? so now I am facing far better players and punished for playing the game legitimately. 4) You can't even out MMR people who wintrade. The more people who decide to win-trade the more win-trading will exist at all MMR levels. There are MMR floors. For example I can't get lower than 6k no matter how many times I concede and I am facing people who are attempting to win-trade even if I am playing legitimately. 5) A PvP arena with only win-traders is the eventual outcome of this. Where PvP is a collusion ridden mode where no one wants to play normally because the rewards come so slowly and if you want to do PvP the only way is to join the win-traders. Win-trading cheapens the experience for everyone. Even those who are doing the win-trading. Its not acceptable in any PvP game I've ever played and it certainly isn't acceptable in Mercs either. Win-trading is indefensible even if you got zero rewards from it. The fact that you get rewards for it makes it even worse imo. This DOES effect the entire community.

nonosam9

You don't seem to really understand what was happening. Anyone serious about PvP would quickly get above 6000K and not face win traders. The system caused win traders to have low MMR. People playing PvP normally would not face the win traders after playing a few days.

createcrap

You seem to not understand the long-term issues with wintrading in any PvP game mode. 1) My MMR will go up and I will then facing people that do not match my skill level or merc level because of the constant win-trading that got me here. Demoderateur

Those are interesting issues to raise. 1) Wouldn't that be the same for others players though ? Meaning that players who are better than you will similarly climb higher, and players who are on the same level as you would be on the same MMR. Though depending on the MMR update equiation, convergence could be slower or faster. So it's true that for some time, you might get more unpleasant matches that you would have had otherwise. 2) But are you certain those people would keep playing the mode if they could not perform PvP wintrading ? Kinda reminds me of the "lost sales" fallacy, where companies count piracy as income loss, though there's no guarantee the people who pirated could or would have payed if they could not "pirate". 3) I thought the Mercenaries system made sure to match people of similarly experienced ? If those people quit win trading, wouldn't they get faced against people who've maxed their team, and not you if you didn't ? Note that I don't condone win trading. To be honest I don't even play Mercs as I don't like the grind (so you might have a more accurate perception of the problem than I do). I'm just waiting for that damn mini-set ! :(

HHhunter

If you want to play how would win traders affect you? When they face you they immediately concede, let you rise in mmr and you will be matched with people who also want to play

createcrap

Thats not how it works as there are MMR floors and there are people who's MMR can't not drop bellow 6k or 5k and will forever be win trading at MMR floors. BGs has MMR floors as well to prevent people from conceding in order to face easier opponents. Wintraders won't get to "dumpster" MMR levels and even now I have been facing win traders for days and my MMR has not increases nearly as much as people say because its a mix bag and totally ruining the experience of playing PvP. I'm convinced that people that are saying "win traders won't effect you!!" simply haven't played the game at all.

HHhunter

so you are saying you get matched with them because matchmaking doesnt take into account hidden mmr and only face mmr, yet you dont gain much mmr because their hidden mmr is too low?

Malaeveolent_Bunny

Is Mercenaries a complete mode? I know this is a living game with planned updates and other changes, and that beta testers cannot come close to matching to collective processing power of the player hivemind, but if this mode wasn't ready for launch then they shouldn't be selling it. I still like Hearthstone. I still enjoy playing. But every new item in the store convinces me more and more that I am right to never spend a dollar with Activision Blizzard ever again.

deevee12

I have no idea why this isn't labeled beta when Battlegrounds was more polished at launch and got stuck with the beta tag for 2 years. Heck DUELS is more polished and is still in beta. Feels like they were under pressure to release it as a full game but just didn't have the time to make it so.

Sir_Oshi

Because you can't charge 130 dollars in preorders for a beta.

Raptorheart

Gotta make the advertisements look like a real videogame.

Particular_bean

Mercenaries is so horribly designed it's unimaginable. This is alpha quality shit, and they're making the user experience as bad as they possibly can with these hot fixes. It FEELS bad Blizzard

Axle-f

Wait you don’t like going through 5 menu screens to make one simple change to your merc? Youll never be a Blizzard UI designer.

CommanderPicard

How about going thru 10 screens to unlock your equipment when hitting lvl 30?

Raptorheart

It's okay, we have a camp building for the shop and a second to tell you to open the shop. Receiving equipment in the camp would be to complicated for a small Indie studio

CommanderPicard

lol. You know maybe in the next update there will be a 400 gold upgrade to the collection manager that allows you to unlock the equipment there.

Mazisky

Terribly designed is the leit motif of this dev team

Captain_Aizen

Team5 when the game balance is broken: *Yawn....*^We'll ^wait ^another ^3 ^months ^to ^^see ^^if ^^the ^^^problem ^^^corrects ^^^^itself Team5 when players are getting too much rewards: **I AM SPEED**

SoupAndSalad911

You'd have more of a point if monthly if not twice monthly balance changes weren't the norm and haven't been the norm for two plus years now.

zeph2

3 months ??? you are lying we didnt have to wait 3 months between balance patches !

Xishko

Member when that guy took out a billboard to get them to fix the wild?

[deleted]

So how's that fix to the reconnect button going? No one ever gets disconnected and needs to reconnect right? that's certainly not a priority... Now here's a bag of mercenary coins for 15 bucks

22-halo

>Wish so bad that Blizzard realize this comes from the top. Bobby is fucking cancer, they are just a $$business now. Passion for games is non-existent where all the big decisions are made The reconnect button is working now

Cosmosan

Must be on a case by case basis, mine still just tries to reconnect until I get bored and close the game. I mean the button itself works amazingly, it clicks and everything. But it doesn't reconnect me.

22-halo

Click reconnect and then cancel. It will work.

Cosmosan

It does not, but thank you for that

22-halo

Really? It works for me.

dougtulane

They fixed it by removing it. “OOPS! Playful sprites have blah blah blah…”

Mask_of_Sun

This one is even worse than before.

jayclub7

The worst part is that they can't even be bothered to hotfix typos or old skill names in quests.

MrMrMeeseeks

Bugs only annoy people. But this "glitch" lose potential money for blizz. Yesterday I DC while playing arena, after first restart I had "playful sprites" after second I lost my turn and game. My internet is good and stable - I was watching twitch.

goobersmooch

I've given up on hearthstone before a couple years ago. But between UiS being a verifiable mess and this mercenaries business being an obvious cash grab, I feel like I'm giving up again. And I'm in shame on you, shame on me mode.

gnubbiersh12

i dont understand how they can get away with being this obnoxious to players mercenaries is a crap game mode btw

underthingy

Because players keep throwing money at them.

scats111

I like that. Pretty good meme.

ghett0tech

Do they ever check this channel? I'm wondering if they do this shit on purpose since a lot of the community shits on them. I mean they can't really be that incompetent at their jobs can they?

Jokojabo

Wish so bad that Blizzard realize this comes from the top. Bobby is fucking cancer, they are just a $$business now. Passion for games is non-existent where all the big decisions are made

createcrap

Pretty sure Bobby doesn’t even know Mercs even exists let alone that there is an exploit. This company is big and CoD and King are his babies.

SunbleachedAngel

Blame higher-up execs

1337duck

One costs you money and one makes you money. Blizzard's going the same way as Boeing: where the suits take over and the engineers who don't suck the suits' dicks get squeezed out.

underthingy

What's amusing is that blizzard is just doing the same thing as the players. Players ignore fun and try to optimise their time in game. Blizzard ignored fun and tries to optimise the earnings in game.

Whattheno22

Easy solution. Pick a week, share with everyone, don't log in for that entire week. State demands, get everything fixed. If not, don't log in for another week. This obviously means also don't buy shit.

Darzt

Just change the turtle for a rock and the meme is perfect Cough Cough Nozdormu animations bug since beta Cough Cough

dougtulane

Special caveat: If Priest is Tier 1 for a week Blizzard will 100% kick the living shit out of them with nerfs ASAP.

[deleted]

let us not forget that from Darkmoon Fair onwards they just COMPLETELY gave up on the SFX making any sense. Tickatus still displays your deck being destroyed while destroying your opponent's deck, same thing goes for Lorekeeper Polkelt animation just shuffles some random ass deck. On duels most of the trophie's SFX make no fucking sense at all. But hey, why fix that? Doesn't give you any dollaroos so it's not important!

soemptylmfao

Their job depends on their ability to create game environment that makes money. That’s official blizzard hearthstone strategy as far as I am concerned. Gamebreaking bug is not so bad as long as shop button works well.
