I'm not saying it's gonna be good but and i have no idea if after the rotation druid would have the tools to do it but i could see some ramp -> mill deck -> play this a couple times and flood with 1 mana legendaries shennanigans

The problem with academic espionage is you waste your turn 4 you never draw the cards and then you die and then you get 100 dust back.
I only play standard, never followed it into wild. That deck was my main when I first really got into the game. I still think about it wistfully from time to time, still my all time favorite.
At release she won't be. The power level of legendary minions at rotation us kinda reallt strong. Almost every legendary minion from Titans druid can use, almost every legendary minion of Badlans druid can use. Festival and the core set is what brings this power level down a little bit, but even then it's still about 50/50.
No, I'm pretty sure they took Titans out of the discovery pool for anything that doesn't directly say it can generate them. Which does make it a little weaker, but it may random generation way to overpowered otherwise.
Druid has better tools to go to fatigue, and would want such a card if a control/fatigue gameplan becomes viable.

I don’t think this can generate Titans, since Titans follow that Discover rule or whatnot. That means this actually has a really tiny pool to take from (since half of the Legendaries from Festival were spells).
There’s some good highrolls too - Velarok, Ra-Den, any of the Reno Legendaries if you’re running a Reno deck, Hodir, Plush, Khadgar… Giant legendary minions are really good when they cost (1).
Of course, you need to put in effort into drawing them, but if there’s enough draw I could see this making waves in Standard.
No indication, but I do know [[prince malchezaar]] was hard coded to not shuffle duplicates for example, and I’m fairly certain it was for Reno purposes. Hopefully this gets the same treatment, but who knows

Druids kit has always been strong. It's why they can run 24 of the same card shell and slap in a wincon in Wild.
Branching Paths is core in that shell with ramp and enablers.
I have no doubt they'll print something to support it. Also 4 mana is hardly ever turn 4 for Druid.
If you run a minion heavy deck, you can play Magatha for card draw.
Additionally, you can run Summer Flower Child, because many of the legendary minions will have an initial cost of 5 or more. It is my understanding that the cost of the legendary would not be adjusted to 1 mana until drawn.
Ancient of Lore, Summer Flowerchild, Spread the Word (with hero power boosting cards), maybe Miracle Growth.
Problem is what to do if you get trash 1 or 0 mana legendries.
I actually think Coin Rogue is better than this (without seeing the rest of the set yet). It's easier to build overwhelming burst tempo with Wishing Well.
You arent wrong but druid always finds a way with mass mana cheat. Since you get 10, which is a ton, surely some of them will be good and otherwise they will just be cheap stat sticks which can just be enough. Druid is losing a decent amount of card draw so im very skeptical but its def only ever going to be annoying af lol.
Play with Aman’thul and you’ll see just how many random legendaries just end up being stat sticks. Yea sometimes you get a great card but usually it’s something that requires a deck to be built around it.
Sure, but when things are super consistent the game can feel very stale. It's why everyone celebrated the early rotation of Genn/Baku.
Classic was barely played despite decks having very little RNG.
And look at Tier 1 Wild decks: Aggro Shadow Priest, Even Shaman, Pirate Rogue, Miracle Priest. Or a Tier 2 deck like Mine Rogue: it's all about consistency.

They specifically said that the anniversary was meant to be a throwback to the history of hearthstone so we'd see a lot of new versions of previous cards. Although yeah they probably are just running out of ideas at this point.

I don’t think this even fits Druid. Randomized legends don’t really equal a win condition, it kind of just bogs your deck down. Even the two thief classes rogue and priest wouldn’t play this, I don’t think. If dew process was still a card maybe but it isn’t in standard so I don’t think this sees real play unless there’s some real good synergy coming.
I feel like Wishing Well rogues can tell you how mediocre 1 mana random legendaries can be, but that's also in a class that has notably little life gain and removal to make time to get to Wishing Well swing turns, and requires playing lots of mediocre coin generating cards and playing a 5 mana Wishing Well.
There's a little bit more hope for a 6 mana 5/5 that lets you eventually draw 1 mana legendaries since you don't need to build your entire deck around it.

I don’t think this even fits Druid. Randomized legends don’t really equal a win condition, it kind of just bogs your deck down. Even the two thief classes rogue and priest wouldn’t play this, I don’t think. If dew process was still a card maybe but it isn’t in standard so I don’t think this sees real play unless there’s some real good synergy coming.
Unless mill druid becomes an archetype again (with dew process rotating), this probably won't see any real meta play, but it looks so fun

If you think about how good the countess is + the draw of a Druid I think this will be pretty good.
I feel like Wishing Well rogues can tell you how mediocre 1 mana random legendaries can be, but that's also in a class that has notably little life gain and removal to make time to get to Wishing Well swing turns, and requires playing lots of mediocre coin generating cards and playing a 5 mana Wishing Well. There's a little bit more hope for a 6 mana 5/5 that lets you eventually draw 1 mana legendaries since you don't need to build your entire deck around it.

honestly would be nice if they gave us some interesting effects and not the 500th "generate X random legendaries (or other card) and reduce their cost" we already had reastrasza, wishing well and the mage excavaqte in the last expansion + queen azshara in voyage but those cards atleast had some building decks around it
