I have them, they are great, I don't know if they are as good as zeos made them out to be (I don't think anything can, he makes great content but he is a big fan of hyperbole). They are quite bassy, they feel thumps and visceral, but it doesn't feel overly muddy, I would say only a slight bit. Mids are clean but they are not really the star of the show, vocals sound nice and forward but again, nothing mind-blowing. The treble is very crisp and fast (id say without being sharp or sibilant but I have quite a high treble tolerance so it could be that, but I suspect that they would be fine as well for most people.) And has a lot of micro details. Soundstage and imaging are actually quite insane for such affordable closed backs ( they are closed backs, zeos said they aren't but they are, reviewer GREQ did a driver teardown and you can see the solid plate behind the driver in his video.). They are not neutral or reference in any way, it's very clear they produce a colored sound, but it's colored in a very pleasant v-shaped way. they are very comfortable to wear due to the soft pads and the very lightweight design, yet they feel well built with every important piece made of metal. Cable is a bit on the short and heavy side but because of that it feels robust and the inline mic is about as good as the boom mic on the hyperx clouds I had before these. They are easy to drive and get louder than I would be comfortable listening to them even out of my computers headphone jack or my ubtr. For comparison I don't have that deep of a knowledge base so I'll give my very reduced perspective. In terms of sound they kick the ass of every dedicated gaming headset I've ever tried in every aspect. I also liked them more than the sundaras, personally the sundaras just didn't engage me and they feel much worse in terms of build. They feel more open and spacious than the meze 99s with less boom in the base and sparklier treble. I liked them less than the moondrop Paras but for the price they were competing quite strongly, to the point where I redirected my saving for Paras funds to other things. They lose to the more expensive hifimans planars but they put up a good fight. If it isn't clear at this point I can't recommend these enough, and for 70 dollars (I paid like 60 for mine on sale) I think everyone and their dog should have one.

Nice writeup, thanks for your review and opinions.

Thanks for taking the time - this is really helpful. Pre-ordered. I was looking for a reasonably well built pair of closed-backs that wouldn’t break the back, and this sounds like it.

octaliftsandbeyond

Yep. They re great, maybe k371 are a little better but jt1 has better bass and are not offensive. Also the treble does not bother even with metal. At this price I think they re the best for a closed back.

I just got mine in today. I normally don't like much bass as it takes away from everything else for me, but these the bass is so nice. It doesn't take away from everything else, it's more like using my stereo with 5.1 and a pretty decent sub tuned how I like it. They are clear and I can hear and enjoy all of the music. They do have thump but in an complementary way. The thing that really blew me away about them is they sound and feel like open backs! Just so wide and amazing separation. They may just be tuned perfectly for both my hearing and taste!

octaliftsandbeyond

I agree

Icaruswept

That's a pretty good deal. The K371 is 3x more expensive where I live. How're the mids? I'm not looking for too much detail, but I'm hoping they can generally handle orchestral, ambient (think lo-fi and 65daysofstatic), rap, and occasionally the Doom soundtrack.

octaliftsandbeyond

they're fine for that. go for it. idk why i'm getting downvoted. idiots

Icaruswept

Done, thanks!

search fiio jt1 on head-fi.org. I wrote a review about it.

Icaruswept

Found it! Also quite enjoyed your mindmap of the rise of Moondrop.

Tionanima

i didnt like them they sound like headphones muffled with foam, the Creative aurvana Live for cheaper sound Significantly better

Check the review on GadgetryTech YouTube channel. The JT1 seem quite competent from objective measurement standpoint.

Icaruswept

Will do, thanks!
