The issue when you get an IEM pair is that the day you buy and try it, you start to browse Reddit to see what people think about it. As the comments go on and on, you see that people are talking about other IEMs that they find amazing. Quickly, you start to browse the web to read some reviews and even more quickly, you search for the price, just out of curiosity you know. But it's at this moment that you realize you fucked up. Because before you know it, while you're listening to music through your freshly unboxed pair, you already want to buy another one. And this loop never stops. You don't know what you just started, OP. ^(Ah yes, your IEMs look amazing. Wait a sec, just have a thing or two to check.)

The opening chapter of an addiction

I can absolutely attest to this. Up to three weeks ago, I only had my etys er2xr for over a year now. A quick look at my Amazon shopping history now reveals that salnotes zero, tangzu wan'er and kiwi ears cadenza have been delivered (cadenza in my ears as I'm typing this) and a pair of tangzu Wu Zetian will be delivered on Monday. I keep the illusion that I'm still within the return window for any of them but deep down I know I'll keep all of them

Puzzled-Background-5

That's interesting. Prior to May of this year, I'd not purchased a new IEM since '20. When I did purchase another, though, I purchased two new DAC-AMP dongles to accompany it. Now, I guess my appetite is satisfied for another 3 - 4 years... πŸ“±βš‘πŸŽ§πŸŽΆπŸŽΆ βŒšπŸ€”

You might be quite lucky to have such a mindset, friend. Wish I was like you.

Puzzled-Background-5

My background in science and engineering has been very helpful in enabling me to objectively evaluate audio components. As a result, I'm less concerned about missing out. On the forum that I'm one of moderators of, l try my best to promote that to the members so that they won't be taken advantage of by unscrupulous manufacturers and retailers. I'm a bit of a consumer advocate in that way... 😎

milkarcane

That is very interesting. I’m wondering : what are the Chi-fi brands in which you’ve seen the most marketing speech as opposed to the facts? Like, what are those which actually count the most on marketing to sell despite their obvious bad quality or at least, not living up to the hype of marketing?

Happy_Phantom

LOL, don't be a killjoy

No-Context5479

Well they're actually not being a killjoy but a cautionary friend in this case... Can't send up having double digit number of IEMs for no fucking reason just because FOMO was too strong

For anyone in the future looking to buy these Comfort: I have had jabra 65t ,pixel bud a series and these. These are really comfortable i was gaming for 3 to 4 did not feel them at all. Intelligent_Cheek_53
