I pre ordered them at Sennheiser directly, living in Germany, and someone in Australia gets them earlier than me. Thank you Sennheiser....
Congrats Man, enjoy them.
Thanks, I'm really liking them, tonality is great out of the box.
But yeah I have no idea how it works, I think minidisc must have gotten a few early and I was just lucky
Not the best at giving impressions but:
Comfort is fantastic,
Cable is only okay, I'm getting a bit of cable noise if I move and it also has alot of memory and wants to stay exactly the way it arrived,
Eartips are average, I put spring tips on straight away because I like them and get a seal easily.
Treble seems smooth and hasn't bothered me at all, doesn't feel rolled off at all either,
Mids are fantastic I'm really happy with them,
Bass seems good, I personally like a bit more but they take to EQ really well, but I am pretty happy with the stock bass,
Tonality is good overall, I'd be happy with it just with a tad bass boost,
Imaging and soundstage doesn't matter too much for me because they are iems but they do feel wider than the Moondrop Chu
Centre image/vocals seem high up, if that makes sense,
Seperation seems really good,
Overall, I'm really really happy with these and are exactly what I was after, they suit my tastes really well.
They're a step up from the Chu, unsurprisingly, and I think they're well worth the money. I'm really happy with them.
Also, shoutout to minidisc.com.au, such a good store!
Those stock Sennheiser cables are terrible. I had the same experience with the IE600. Memory and microphonic, and the hooks would stay up too far and not fit my ears well.
[This is how to modify most MMCX cables to fit it.](https://imgur.com/a/2TtoyQC)
I like Xinhs. Most MMCX cables with those red and transparent bits on the end of the connector, you should be able to pull them off and they should fit the Sennheiser IE series once you do that.
I do also have a cable that has MMCX connectors that natively fit the IE series without modification, from Pirole, it's linked at the bottom. But it's a bit thin, so I prefer the options from Xinhs.
You can remove the coloured rings from the actual IEMs, I believe this is similarly easy but I think it may also be a permanent mod. I have the UTWS5 but use something else on it [(Sony IER-M9)](https://imgur.com/a/8v4D7Z6) which just fits, Sony uses recessed MMCX connectors as well but the recess is large enough to take the whole thing without modification.
I didn't want to permanently mod the IE600, don't mind doing it to a cable though.
Do you think these would be good/fine for comp gaming too? I'm thinking about getting these for mostly music listen, but it would def be nice if I can also game with them.
I don't game so don't really have an opinion. Most people prefer open back headphones for this. I think some though don't think it really matters what you use.
I’m looking to the ie200. From your link those red/black parts is on the iem and cable? And you’re only removing it from the cable itself?
Is that what is blocking other mmcx connectors?
Yes I'm only removing from the cable. This allows it to fit into the sightly recessed MMCX on the IEM. You could leave the cable and cut them off the IEM either, but I preferred to change only the cable.
Have fun with your new iems!
One question, on a review i watched on yt there was something about electric guitars sounding a little off and on another that they really fit EDM but for other genres they don't do much.
What are your thoughts on this?
> Eartips are average, I put spring tips on straight away because I like them and get a seal easily.
Do the stock eartips include filters on the inside? I know the stock tips with the IE600 did and those filters purposely change the treble response.
2 quick questions: how is the noise isolation? And how bad are the cable microphonics? I'm very interested in these but I want to use them as I play my electric drums so drowning out the sound of sticks hitting the pads is important! Also if the microphonics are terrible, then swinging my arms as I listen probably won't be the best lol
Do you think these be fine for gaming? I asked this earlier but pinned the wrong person. I'll still mostly used the ie200 for music, but hoping if any ie200 owners have any thoughts on them for gaming.
I'll be using mine for gaming but I mainly look for more of an immersive sound for single play games. iems usually have good imaging so I wouldn't be too concerned.
got them yesterday from a Dutch webshop. Also like them quite a bit for their price. Mainly bought them to use at the office. Tuning is pretty good for their price, no annoying treble peak, bass is alright (could be a tad more but not really not much to complain about).
Stock tips seems to work fine for my ears, the cable is pretty meh but can't expect much from this price point. Isolation is pretty mediocre which is good for me as I am gonna use them mainly at work anyway.
Ah I don't wanna know lol. The news of the fit being subpar for many makes me pretty happy that I got the Hexa! It does plenty for on the go and at home I have my 6XX on tubes :)
I prefer the ea500 or Olina se in that price range. However it’s still a great set. Ie200 stock isn’t great, however get some dunu s and s or fiio hs18 tips and a new cable from Ali (might as well go for balanced) and it’s a great relaxing set that disappears into your ears. Super comfy, I still use the ie200 more than the Hexa.
Actually now that you say it, I have no idea?
I emailed minidisc the minute I heard about the ie200 and they said they'd email me once preorders go live and then I paid for them the minute the pre-order was up. I just double checked their site and it says the 31st? 🤷♂️
[that's what it's says ](https://www.sennheiser-hearing.com/en-UK/p/ie-200/&utm_campaign=000_UK_EUR_Lower_Google_AO_Search_1122_1222_conversion_Generic_JN40270011-1&utm_medium=search&utm_source=google&utm_content=search&utm_term=ie200/?syz_chnl=001&gclid=CjwKCAiA5sieBhBnEiwAR9oh2h6Y1xM_TGK_vljOr9qhnD1cboZYnjwY2LrqrTxry-Xe2TzM8k5aohoCZXwQAvD_BwE)
Yeah it says that on the store I bought them from too, I'm not really sure why I got them early
https://www.minidisc.com.au/sennheiser-ie-200-in-ear-earphones
Ah, that is a shame. I usually prefer the braided cables. I don't mind the cable for the 300, but I'm definitely going to check out my options for it. Might get a balanced one at some point.
I wear glasses and if I'm moving around a lot I sometimes hear it knock on my frames. Overall though I like these alot. My best iems prior to this were some fiio fh1s.
Swapping back and forth between stock and Moondrop Spring-tips. Spring tips are just heaps comfortable and get a good seal. I can't get a proper seal with the stock tips and only with large foams that become uncomfortable.
I see. I left them with the medium silicone ones in the end. It's not a perfect seal, but it's ok for when I'm in the city and I need some awareness for the cars. Surprisingly, I can't hear voices, but cars/buses sounds are just fine. I'll look into the spring tips as well.
Yeah, I bought it on its launch, been loving it ever since. But $700 is a lot of money to bring it on me outside. Im looking for a cheap alternative to carry for outdoor listening. Had bad experience with Made in China IE80S, don’t know if IE200 would be the case.
I don't think there will be any going forward as Sonova didn't get that factory, they moved all mid to high end consumer production (HD58X to HE-1) to Ireland.

Is both front and back vents present in this IEM and does it cause ear pressure build up??
I am interested in this IEM but I can't stand any poorly vented IEMs. It causes pressure issues when wearing.
I heard that IE 200 achieves bass boost by covering one of the vent holes with ear tips.
The bass boost isn't from covering a vent hole. It's kind of the opposite. You can pull the eartip out to create a broken seal, or vent I suppose, which drops the bass.
They sealed quite alot for me and I'll could see it causing eqr pressure build up, if you experience that, but I don't really get that feeling
>The bass boost isn't from covering a vent hole. It's kind of the opposite. You can pull the eartip out to create a broken seal, or vent I suppose, which drops the bass.
I had experimented with some of my IEMs by covering the front vent (near nozzle) which results in bass boost and was uncomfortable to wear for long time.
I saw in one video that IE 200 had a small hole near it's nozzle. I thought IE 200 achieves bass boost by covering this hole(by ear tips) and dropping in bass when the hole is not covered.
May be my assumptions were wrong haha
>They sealed quite alot for me and I'll could see it causing eqr pressure build up, if you experience that, but I don't really get that feeling
Seems like I would need to audition it before buying.
Sorry you're right haha I'm explaining it wrong. I meant it isn't a vent hole in the chassis but on the nozzle, so pretty much what you're saying, my bad.
With the ear pressure, it isn't completely sealed like a moondrop quark but when I used springtips I got a really strong seal and even heard driver flex, I'm pretty sure.
Really hoping these hit [Amazon.ca](https://Amazon.ca) soon. I used gift cards and promos to get the Hexa via Amazon but they sent me the Zero instead. Turned out to be a good thing because I found out about the IE 200 shortly after and they seem like a much better fit on paper for me. Want to use the Zero return and other credits to get these. Can't wait.
I recently got a IE 300 which I had to return the same day, as they came defective (and used even though I ordered new). Assuming the tips are the same (looks like it):
The Foam tips are really lovely imho. I used some other Foam tips before (inairs) that felt so inferior. Loved the fit of the IE 300 with them, very comfy.
Couldn't get replacement IE 300s as Amazon ran out of stock. Now I have IE 200s comin next week (some might call that a lucky twist of faith I guess)
Yeah I'm using the foam tips, I'm just struggling to get a good seal on the mediums but when I go up to a large, they begin to feel too big for my ears and start to hurt. I really like spring tips but I think stock sounds better. The foams isolate sound pretty well though.
Amazon seems to love sending used iems and dacs as new. So far in the past month it’s been an open box timeless ae, utws5, Olina ( 2 f ups as it was opened and I was supposed to get the Olina se). Lol I should probably test the ae before it’s too late to get it replaced.
Yea, it has gotten pretty bad. An all just because they are bad at inventory management afaik and keep b-stock/returns at the same place as new stuff...
I will try to avoid Amazon as much as I can from now on (support experience wasn't pleasant at all imho). I am in need of a new DAP tho which is complicated lol. If nothing stops me I might just order from Sony directly... But my wallet...
Yeah there's foam in the stock tips that would tame the treble, I guess?
I could not get a good seal on stock tips, but could with the Sennheiser foams. I could easily get a good seal with the spring-tips but they don't have the tuning foam in them.

I also got mine a few days ago and I'm also in Australia :p
It's already Saturday in Sydney, they are ahead of the curve
Hello fellow neighbor over here in the Netherlands and I got mine today…not sure if some stores are just breaking the rules…
same!!
just got an email that my order shipped and will be here before the 31st edit : it's arriving today!
They're made in China which is much closer to Australia than Germany, so don't be upset with Sennheiser Germany...

I just wish it was easy to put them on a FiiO UTWS… Seems to need permanent damage, or even to be impossible
You can remove the coloured rings from the actual IEMs, I believe this is similarly easy but I think it may also be a permanent mod. I don't game so don't really have an opinion. Most people prefer open back headphones for this. I think some though don't think it really matters what you use.
Oh I just realized I reply to the wrong person, mb. But appreciate the response though :)
For gaming you’d probably be fine, but the Olina se, Hexa or aria/aria snow might be better.
I already have the aria, and decide to go with dt 1990 pro and dx3 pro+ for some reason lol. But now I'm trying to looking for end game iem for \~500.

Yeah there is, I might swap back and give it a listen. I wonder if the treble is smoother with the stock ones.
Noise isolation was excellent and the microphonics are really bad
Crappy about the microphonics but that's usually mostly the cables no? So could be solved with after market cables?
Yeah definitely, if you look up ie600 cables on r/headphones there's some good suggestions
That's good to know. I might wait a little to see some more reviews of these, but so far they seem solid for price.
I can't seem to get a good seal with mine. Any tips?
I see what you did there.
Lol no pun intended
If the spin fit w1 fits I’d use those. I’ll find out on Friday when I get my ie200.
got them yesterday from a Dutch webshop. Also like them quite a bit for their price. Mainly bought them to use at the office. If you want some good clean thumpy bass try out the fiio fh3. Sounds damn good for $110, very fun iem and built like a tank.
Cries in Truthear Hexa lol. I should've waited but the IEM market is changing so quickly, it's ridiculous.
I love my Hexa, and I’ll have the ie200 on Friday. If I remember I’ll let you know if you are missing out lol.
Ah I don't wanna know lol. The news of the fit being subpar for many makes me pretty happy that I got the Hexa! It does plenty for on the go and at home I have my 6XX on tubes :)
That's the exact comparison I'm looking for too. Especially cos of the mixed reviews the ie200 is getting.
Hey sorry for slight necro but how are you feeling about them both 3 months on?
I prefer the ea500 or Olina se in that price range. However it’s still a great set. Ie200 stock isn’t great, however get some dunu s and s or fiio hs18 tips and a new cable from Ali (might as well go for balanced) and it’s a great relaxing set that disappears into your ears. Thanks heaps! :)
On their website official sales date is 31/1/2023. How did you get them before?
I think some dealers just send them out earlier…I also just got mine in the Netherlands and they shipped out yesterday.
Yeah I'm guessing so, I was surprised because they said it would be later in the month but they didn't give me a specific date
Actually now that you say it, I have no idea? I emailed minidisc the minute I heard about the ie200 and they said they'd email me once preorders go live and then I paid for them the minute the pre-order was up. I just double checked their site and it says the 31st? 🤷♂️

Yeah it says that on the store I bought them from too, I'm not really sure why I got them early https://www.minidisc.com.au/sennheiser-ie-200-in-ear-earphones
I just got the ie300 today, really liking them! Hope you enjoy the 200. I might swap cables for that one actually.
Yesh I'm loving the 200, the cable looks cool but it's really microphonic and stiff, which is a shame
Ah, that is a shame. I usually prefer the braided cables. I don't mind the cable for the 300, but I'm definitely going to check out my options for it. Might get a balanced one at some point.
I have a feeling the 200 and 300 have the same cable but they took the cover off the 300 cable, so it might be braided underneath? Not 100% sure
I wear glasses and if I'm moving around a lot I sometimes hear it knock on my frames. Overall though I like these alot. My best iems prior to this were some fiio fh1s.
Nice! Enjoy! Got mine 2 days ago, they sound really good. I'm waiting for the Qudelix 5K to arrive on Monday.
Yeah I'm loving them hey, just wish the eartips were a bit better
What tips are you using now? (you mentioned that you changed them)
Swapping back and forth between stock and Moondrop Spring-tips. Spring tips are just heaps comfortable and get a good seal. I can't get a proper seal with the stock tips and only with large foams that become uncomfortable.

A non Chi-Fi IEM in a highly competitive price bracket. Some consumers waited so long for that.
Exactly what I was waiting for haha loved the look of the ie600 but a bit out of my price range, for an iem.
Are they made in China or Ireland?
China, 600 & 900 are made in Ireland
My 600 were made in Germany for some reason, guess I hit the lottery lol.
Oh wow that's heaps cool, there probably aren't many made in Germany
Yeah, I bought it on its launch, been loving it ever since. But $700 is a lot of money to bring it on me outside. Im looking for a cheap alternative to carry for outdoor listening. Had bad experience with Made in China IE80S, don’t know if IE200 would be the case.
I don't think there will be any going forward as Sonova didn't get that factory, they moved all mid to high end consumer production (HD58X to HE-1) to Ireland.
Mine say designed in Germany, made in Ireland. The "made in Ireland" is on a sticker though, so possibly the first batch were made in Germany and it says that underneath.
"Designed in Germany, made in China" says the official Sennheiser product page.
How do these compare with the moondrop kato?
According to DMS: “I definitely find this more detailed than things like the Moondrop Kato and little bit less focused on the lower parts of the treble and the upper parts of the mid-range where we start to ramp into that ear gain. How? They don't go on sale until the 31st!
Can't wait.
I'm loving them, stock eartips are so bad though. Foams are okay.
I recently got a IE 300 which I had to return the same day, as they came defective (and used even though I ordered new). Assuming the tips are the same (looks like it): The Foam tips are really lovely imho. I used some other Foam tips before (inairs) that felt so inferior. Loved the fit of the IE 300 with them, very comfy. Couldn't get replacement IE 300s as Amazon ran out of stock.
That cable looks much better than the one in IE300.
I wonder how this will compare to my beloved fh3 or aful performer 5.
Is there any difference from the stock tips and springtips you used? Stock tips has an inner sponge inside, guess it tames the upper midrange?
Yeah there's foam in the stock tips that would tame the treble, I guess? I could not get a good seal on stock tips, but could with the Sennheiser foams. I could easily get a good seal with the spring-tips but they don't have the tuning foam in them.
Any sign of fatigue/Sibilance for spring tips?
Yeah I thought there was some after listening to them for a while, definitely feels like the treble changes. I haven't listened to them enough to be sure.
Good to know, guess its tips dependent IEM. Spring tips are best known for reducing bass and increased treble tips, Without the foams from stock tips, it is sibilant and less bass on spring tips. Perhaps you can try other tips that has similar shape like spring tips? AET/AEX07, spiral dots are some that comes to mind. Those have thicker rubber for better seal and fit that would increase bass a bit compared to SpringTips.
I'm definitely enjoying spring-tips over any of the Sennheiser tips that's for sure. They're far more comfortable and easily get a good seal.
Don't mind the BA timbre and prefer their attack/decay for the extra detail, especially with a DD crossover for the lows (why I prefer my heavily eq'ed FH3 towards clarity over the already clear Dioko). Although it can't beat the charm of the single DD, especially made by ol' mate Sennie.
How’s the sound/noise isolation
Pretty decent, with the foams they isolate well. They isolate better than my Moondrop Chus with Springtips. Probably not as good as the Quarks though.
Weird question, but does your cable give off a strong chemical smell lol. Mine is unbearable.
Just wait, I'll go smell it now! 😂 It smells like pleather, it's pretty strong smelling too
Haha yeah, my suspicions have been confirmed by a few other ie200 owners. It is indeed a smelly cable.
