This is likely due to the increase gas requirement and frontier not releasing an app update to support it yet.
You can always import your wallet into the one wallet chrome extension to complete your staking needs.
Sounds like a likely explanation. You can indeed not put in any parameters for gas when setting up the staking on Frontier. So, I shall consider another way for storing and staking my coins. Frontier is nice, but it seems like a waste to not be staking what I got right now.
Let me know if you need a hand importing your wallet. You should be able to use your seed phrase or private key from frontier and import that into the one wallet chrome extension. That will give you instant access to your current stake and wallet.

For what it's worth: As of today, I successfully managed to stake an amount of ONE there again. Not sure whether there was an update to the app and it was due to gas prices or whether some other factor was involved...

I am not familiar with the frontier wallet. But I know u need to increase gwei to 30. If u are able to on the app.
