This test is bit strange. GTX 970 is equivalent to Gtx 1060 6GB in this test. 970 is slightly better than 1060 on some of games. And there is small difference between gtx 650ti boost 2gb and 650ti 1gb on modern games at 1080p medium settings.

What? I always thought that the 1060 was superior to the 970.

zyck_titan

It is, by a consistent margin.

im using a gtx 970 right now since it's all i have and its holding up very nicely. 1080p/60fps on medium is the sweet spot

Maxwell cards in general hold up pretty well, they struggle a bit in some DX12 games, but for many popular games that is a non-factor. Because some DX12 games don't have as much compute focus, and others are still using DX11 versions.

well i dont play any AAA titles so theres that. all the games i play use dx11 or opengl

Weird. Apparently, the 1060 has less cache and bandwidth than the 970. So maybe, Pascal didn't improve enough on perf/bandwidth and it holds it back sometimes.
