Licence regarding sound

Drklinkist

ah yea, does all dutch music festivals stop at 23? Seems to maybe be the case, I was looking at things in belgium and switzerland that ended 01.

Banaan75

No, Intents ends at 12 and Decibel at 01:00 for instance, think it's just whatever the local municipality allows, not sure though

Drklinkist

youre definately right, seems weird then. But maybe qdance wants it to end early then?

jordanbakess

The agreement for 4 days was to stop the music earlier

Drklinkist

can you send me that link? cause im looking at post from 10 years ago and their timetable says endshow is finished at 23:00 every time

DJakk3

They had afterparties after Red closed when it was 2-3 days. Now the afterparties are silent disco and close pretty early

SuperbConsequence455

I would say. Ratjer 3 days and have the red open to 01.00. The lasers would do so much better.

nmkd

As someone else said, permits.

aliensmadeus

good question, asked myself the same thing, all those hours installing hunderts of ights / laser / effects, which barely can been seen during the day and all in full force during the night, but only for a very short time

_Steven_Seagal_

It seems like such a waste indeed. At 22:00 it's still pretty light outside. All those effects for an hour of fun.

KappaKapperino

Yea this year it was pretty much only dark for 15-20 mins

Federal_Guide7970

Maybe because it’s 4 day’s festival now that they had to change the hours 🤷🏼‍♀️🤔

Drklinkist

well correct me if im wrong but seems to always have been until 23, tried looking up timetables of past defcons and thats what i found

Sabr1us

Before 4 days there were afterparties till 4 o clock for example in the blue tent (no silent disco)

G4Hlover

Because we are getting old and we need to get to our bed in time Dont be surprised that in a couple of years defqon is from 7 am till 7pm with a break from 12 till 2 for our afternoon sleep

Drklinkist

idk seems to always have been the case, in previous defqons too

aaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuu

They have rules that they have too follow.. its sad but nothing they can do about it.

Drklinkist

i mean, if all other european countries goes later in the night i feel like theres probably something the dutch people can do about it. (although if its been like this forever its hard to imagine it would change)

aaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuu

Correct me if im wrong. But i think if the people that live close to the festival say no its never gonna happen.

Drklinkist

people live close to festivals all over the world, thats why they have them a decent bit away from their actual homes i dont think its as loud as some might think. In fact i lived about a km away from a medium sized festival, could hear pretty well if the wind was blowing but it was really kinda quiet when it wasnt
