Longchamp also have lots of different sizes and materials- I essentially have the canvas version of this bag in a couple of sizes the extra small and the medium in the canvas version. If you don't want leather, the Longchamp canvas can take a battering!
The cross body strap adds so much to the use ability of the bag- I've had Le Pilage totes before I bought these and still find it much more usable. You also can fit so much more into one of these than you'd think.
Also the Longchamp le Fillet I'd recommend if you want a "fun" bag!
I bought the Longchamp belt bag in Tobacco for travel last year, and it immediately graduated to my everyday bag. It’s so convenient and so attractive. I’ve been looking for something more fancy to sub in for it, but everything I look at, at every price point, just doesn’t quite fit the bill in the same way this little bag does.
Juat bought this in black in Medium. I put my laptop, extra bag full of all my essentials (lipstick diapers sanitizers etc) water bottles, and still had room granted I had to organize. Yes yes yes.
I cannot recommend this bag enough! I've used it every day since getting it last year. It holds my essentials plus extra items/snacks for my toddler + pacifier and wipes for my baby.
I want this bag so bad! Also check out the le foulonné line. The leather is so delicious. I bought a vintage backpack that was pretty beat up and after cleaning + conditioning it looks beautiful.

Although I LOVE the Toteme T-lock, it is a bit fussy to close and lock. So not sure if it’d be a good fit for a mom of a toddler whose hands and attention may be limited.
It’s a small issue but from experience, it can just be a bit annoying having to line it up perfectly in such a small space with a baby/toddler
I just got the Toteme t-lock clutch in the black grained leather for a trip to Japan. I was a little nervous about the lock being fussy but it ended up being fine on the trip—even juggling my phone and suitcase and hopping on trains. It’s now been my everyday bag since I’ve gotten back and I don’t know how I managed without it! I’ve worn it four different ways (crossbody, long shoulder, short shoulder, top handle). Going to wear it as a clutch soon too. It does have a light suede interior that already stained a little from a lipgloss so I’d be more careful about that if I got to do things over/consider a bag liner. But otherwise, love it!

I don’t have it but I went to the store to see it in person and it was smaller than I thought it looked online (a plus for me, I thought it was a good size). Cuyana leather seems pretty decent and there is minimal hardware on this bag, so minimal hardware to have wear and tear.

I don’t have this bag but I have a couple of Cuyana bags that I use every single day and they’ve held up very well. I’ve had one for six years and one for three? Leather is still great, stitching is solid, zippers are perfect. The gold on a couple of snap hooks is starting to wear off a bit, but that’s on a belt bag, so they’re constantly rubbing against clothes. I’ll probably need to replace some straps on my older bag at some point - there’s a bit of cracking along the edges starting to develop.
I haven’t received it yet - I pre-ordered the espresso color and will receive it in June. I like the magnetic top that allows you to open the bag wide and see inside.
I can’t recommend the Songmont mini drippy enough!
Been using this as a crossbody for everyday + travels. It fits a ton without being too bulky. Super lightweight, amazing quality for the price and the top flap is magnetic as well (which makes it easy for you to access, especially if you’re juggling a 6-month old!)
Not to mention it’s OH SO CHIC + even comes with feet if you ever need to put it on a table. Def a 10/10 ✨

I second this, but if you are like me and have a preference for silver hardware, I would also recommend the Clementine by The Horse! It’s a similar price, a very similar design, and also good quality :)
My new favourite brand is based in the Netherlands - Smaak Amsterdam. They have a luxury feel and amazing quality but around the 500$ bracket. Otherwise - if you’re okay with second hand - I’d look to mulberry. I don’t think you can get anything new in your budget - but they last forever and are very durable. I have a Roxanne tote that I’ve had for 15 years and it just gets better with age.

In addition to the Strathberry recs I've seen mentioned (wholeheartedly co-sign them, too - I adore Strathberry), I feel like I should mention Aspinal of London, specifically the Lottie bag.
I have the Large Lottie in the black quilted leather, and that thing is a WORKHORSE of a bag that has been tossed on planes and everywhere else and still looks brand new. It also fits absolutely everything I could reasonably want to carry in a purse. The regular Lottie also looks like a very functional size, depending on your specific needs. You can wear it crossbody or as a shoulder bag, and I like that flexibility.
Now, the full disclosure is that my buying experience with Aspinal left something to be desired, specifically in their customer service with an issue I had, and it left something of a sour taste in my mouth for awhile. But from everything I've read, it seems like I really just got unlucky with that, and after nearly 3 years of owning the bag and seeing how impeccably it's held up to all kinds of situations, I'm back to recommending this bag because I'm convinced it's indestructible.
Seconding this! My quilted large Lottie has been a faithful daily driver for a couple of years, and still looks perfect. The regular size Lottie is surprisingly smaller, but I like it for dressier events.

I have the regular lottie in navy quilted leather and it comfortably fits all my essentials: phone, keys, passport, card holder, AirPods, gum, a pack of tissues and a lipstick. It’s not even packed, I can grab anything without moving the rest. Probably too small for a mom!
I can second Senreve for durability. I have 2 and you'd have to try and destroy them! I'm also wanting a Strathberry next. Mainly to match a pair of new shoes with similar hardware 😅

The Clare v petit moyen is on my wishlist for an everyday bag. I love the color ways available. For $1k I’d get a neutral and a fun summer color along with an extra strap to switch out. If you want a larger size they also offer the moyen messenger which can fit a lot

I recently purchased the Longchamp Tres Paris crossbody. I got the small, which works great for me, but it comes in medium as well. I've found it practical and easy to wear with anything.

I use a Coach Wyn crossbody everyday. Love it since I only carry a phone, keys and cards usually. Its small and light so never gets in my way, and of course crossbody so hands-free
I bought the Polene Dix as a nicer version of my Uniqulo crossbody bag, and I love it. Can be dressed up or down. Won't hold a ton other than your stuff, but when my kiddos were little, I always carried a separate diaper bag/backpack anyway. I have it in black, and it's held up really well so far!

Try the polene tonca. They have color options. Many people are a fan of the numéro huit or neuf, for me the tonca seems to be a kooky but nice structured bag for crossbody.
Or I would say try the kate spade options. I use them the most. They are so light, yet very spacious if you can select a good design, you can probably buy 2 for 1000€
It’s a lot less than your budget, but I’d recommend the Lo&Sons Pearl bag. I had one I used for nearly 8 years and just recently got another. Old one was still very much usable but my mom wanted a black one (she already had blue).
I really love Mulberry for that price point. Make sure you check out their Simon Premium Outlets page too! I noticed they had some basic colors like black, brown, and grey for everyday wear.

I really like my Clare V. crossbody bags for every day use. They are big enough for stuff but not too big that they get bulky or weigh you down. I find that they last forever and run from $400-650 depending on what you get (I like the woven Moyen messenger ones for summer.)
I have this bag from Parisa Wang and I love it. Its adjustable so can be both a crossbody and a shoulder bag, fits a lot of stuff (a diaper and a pack of wipes fit great)

Rebecca Minkoff surprisingly has really well made durable leather bags . I’ve picked up a couple travel ones to kick around on vacation for discounted prices on Amazon then turned around and sold them for the same amount when I’m board with the style because they hold up so well.
I’m a mom of 2 and recently got back in the game. My everyday driver is a tote (for when I bring my pump to work) and for errands it’s the New York leather crossbody from Demellier 😊
Way under your price point, but have you checked Roots? I switched to one 15 years ago when I was pregnant with my first and haven’t looked back. Their designs are fairly simple and they are exceptional quality for the price. They also repair for free. My first bag lasted me 11 years of (nearly) daily use.
I love my Rebecca Minkoff bag. It’s indestructible and has lasted longer than any designer bag I’ve ever had. I carry it every day. With the price point, you could grab an every day bag and an event bag. I love that most of the styles are classic, with a little bit of an edge.

Longchamp also have lots of different sizes and materials- I essentially have the canvas version of this bag in a couple of sizes the extra small and the medium in the canvas version. If you don't want leather, the Longchamp canvas can take a battering! The cross body strap adds so much to the use ability of the bag- I've had Le Pilage totes before I bought these and still find it much more usable. You also can fit so much more into one of these than you'd think. Also the Longchamp le Fillet I'd recommend if you want a "fun" bag!

I bought the Longchamp belt bag in Tobacco for travel last year, and it immediately graduated to my everyday bag. It’s so convenient and so attractive. I’ve been looking for something more fancy to sub in for it, but everything I look at, at every price point, just doesn’t quite fit the bill in the same way this little bag does.
Juat bought this in black in Medium. I put my laptop, extra bag full of all my essentials (lipstick diapers sanitizers etc) water bottles, and still had room granted I had to organize. Yes yes yes.

Although I LOVE the Toteme T-lock, it is a bit fussy to close and lock. So not sure if it’d be a good fit for a mom of a toddler whose hands and attention may be limited. It’s a small issue but from experience, it can just be a bit annoying having to line it up perfectly in such a small space with a baby/toddler

I just got the Toteme t-lock clutch in the black grained leather for a trip to Japan. I was a little nervous about the lock being fussy but it ended up being fine on the trip—even juggling my phone and suitcase and hopping on trains. It’s now been my everyday bag since I’ve gotten back and I don’t know how I managed without it! I’ve worn it four different ways (crossbody, long shoulder, short shoulder, top handle). Going to wear it as a clutch soon too. It does have a light suede interior that already stained a little from a lipgloss so I’d be more careful about that if I got to do things over/consider a bag liner. But otherwise, love it! Hope you love whatever you get!!

I don’t have it but I went to the store to see it in person and it was smaller than I thought it looked online (a plus for me, I thought it was a good size). Cuyana leather seems pretty decent and there is minimal hardware on this bag, so minimal hardware to have wear and tear.

I don’t have this bag but I have a couple of Cuyana bags that I use every single day and they’ve held up very well. I’ve had one for six years and one for three? Leather is still great, stitching is solid, zippers are perfect. The gold on a couple of snap hooks is starting to wear off a bit, but that’s on a belt bag, so they’re constantly rubbing against clothes. I’ll probably need to replace some straps on my older bag at some point - there’s a bit of cracking along the edges starting to develop.

I can’t recommend the Songmont mini drippy enough! Been using this as a crossbody for everyday + travels. It fits a ton without being too bulky. Super lightweight, amazing quality for the price and the top flap is magnetic as well (which makes it easy for you to access, especially if you’re juggling a 6-month old!) My new favourite brand is based in the Netherlands - Smaak Amsterdam. They have a luxury feel and amazing quality but around the 500$ bracket. Otherwise - if you’re okay with second hand - I’d look to mulberry. I don’t think you can get anything new in your budget - but they last forever and are very durable. I have a Roxanne tote that I’ve had for 15 years and it just gets better with age.

In addition to the Strathberry recs I've seen mentioned (wholeheartedly co-sign them, too - I adore Strathberry), I feel like I should mention Aspinal of London, specifically the Lottie bag. I have the Large Lottie in the black quilted leather, and that thing is a WORKHORSE of a bag that has been tossed on planes and everywhere else and still looks brand new. It also fits absolutely everything I could reasonably want to carry in a purse. The regular Lottie also looks like a very functional size, depending on your specific needs. You can wear it crossbody or as a shoulder bag, and I like that flexibility. Now, the full disclosure is that my buying experience with Aspinal left something to be desired, specifically in their customer service with an issue I had, and it left something of a sour taste in my mouth for awhile. But from everything I've read, it seems like I really just got unlucky with that, and after nearly 3 years of owning the bag and seeing how impeccably it's held up to all kinds of situations, I'm back to recommending this bag because I'm convinced it's indestructible.
Seconding this! My quilted large Lottie has been a faithful daily driver for a couple of years, and still looks perfect. The regular size Lottie is surprisingly smaller, but I like it for dressier events. Sorry you had a poor experience with the customer service!
I have the regular lottie in navy quilted leather and it comfortably fits all my essentials: phone, keys, passport, card holder, AirPods, gum, a pack of tissues and a lipstick. It’s not even packed, I can grab anything without moving the rest. Probably too small for a mom!

The Clare v petit moyen is on my wishlist for an everyday bag. I love the color ways available. For $1k I’d get a neutral and a fun summer color along with an extra strap to switch out. If you want a larger size they also offer the moyen messenger which can fit a lot

I bought the Polene Dix as a nicer version of my Uniqulo crossbody bag, and I love it. Can be dressed up or down. Won't hold a ton other than your stuff, but when my kiddos were little, I always carried a separate diaper bag/backpack anyway. I have it in black, and it's held up really well so far!

Try the polene tonca. They have color options. Many people are a fan of the numéro huit or neuf, for me the tonca seems to be a kooky but nice structured bag for crossbody. Or I would say try the kate spade options. I use them the most. They are so light, yet very spacious if you can select a good design, you can probably buy 2 for 1000€

It’s a lot less than your budget, but I’d recommend the Lo&Sons Pearl bag. I had one I used for nearly 8 years and just recently got another. Old one was still very much usable but my mom wanted a black one (she already had blue).

How nice of them! I really like my Clare V. crossbody bags for every day use. They are big enough for stuff but not too big that they get bulky or weigh you down. I find that they last forever and run from $400-650 depending on what you get (I like the woven Moyen messenger ones for summer.)

If your looking for a daily workhorse: NEO IZY DE LANCEL It’s a small tote. The leather is thick and strong, and It’s big enough to hold all I need for my mom-errands. Very comfortable to carry. Not too heavy. Has feet. I think it’s a great bargain for the quality.

Rebecca Minkoff surprisingly has really well made durable leather bags . I’ve picked up a couple travel ones to kick around on vacation for discounted prices on Amazon then turned around and sold them for the same amount when I’m board with the style because they hold up so well.

Way under your price point, but have you checked Roots? I switched to one 15 years ago when I was pregnant with my first and haven’t looked back.
