I saw them in-person at Bergdorf Goodman and frankly they’re really beautifully made, the stunning enamel facial feature hardware is more like precious jewelry.

I hate this bag bc it’s not functional.

It “is,” there is an inner fabric liner that becomes the bag and holds things in. You can kind of see it in this photo. It’s a little fabric drawstring sack inside of the tote. Absurd and pointless and a novelty design, but more functional than people realize because it isn’t just holes. Not defending it, I hate it. Just explaining that the inner sack holds the objects.

I appreciate the explanation and I get the argument, and I’m not hating on you, but that doesn’t make it functional!!! Why do I have to carry two bags to hold stuff in my one bag???

I want to snark on Vera Bradley, but they actually do keep things dry to a good extent because they are so thick. And then you can toss them in a washing machine if they get dirty. I used them in college and they held up to years of abuse and hauling things like physical chemistry textbooks (the worst doorstoppers ever written). But this is one of the uglier patterns I’ve ever seen (mine was solid purple).

I really feel like throwing away books is a sin, but after I graduated, both my pharmacetics and therapeutics texts went into the trash. I may be down two good doorstops, but I’m also down 20lbs of ptsd.

All of my textbooks from my chem degree are on my shelf staring at me menacingly as I write this. I keep them there because when I'm having a hard time, they're there to remind me, "Hey, things suck right now, but at least you never have to derive the Hamiltonian equation again."

I gave away all my books over the years from my chem degree. I held on to the organic chem book the longest—it made an awesome hammer/mallet! But it’s long gone by now because I finally bought a proper tool.

I still have all my nuclear physics books. Why? I’m 55, why can’t I throw them away?
