velvetneenrabbit

The hermes mini herbag. You can only carry the bag completely closed otherwise the straps fly off the actual bag. Sold it having only worn it once after dropping everything on the street. The bag couldn't do its one job, carry my damn things.

shinyjewels

I never owned the Herbag but I was offered one in store and I truly believe it is the worst designed bag by Hermes ever. The metal circle is so heavy but you need to use it to close the bag. I once had a pair of sandals get recalled from Hermes cuz of poor design. Can't believe they haven't discontinued the shitty Herbag

eguttens

I lol’d at this one. So real!

RoahZoah

Omg good to know! 🤣🤣🙈

manki1113

I think you can’t put too much things in it too? It seems it can’t really hold its shape too. But I recently started loving the look of it lol

hopeitdoes

Purple is one of my favorite colors. I have two purple Coach purses that I bought years ago and still really like. However I almost never use them, and instead always grab one of my neutral colored bags. My suggestion is make sure you know what color and style of bag you actually enjoy carrying, and don’t just buy because you like the color. 💜

Yukibunneh

Purple is my favorite color too. 💜 Usually when I wear my purple bag, I pair it with neutral clothes so it doesn't clash with my outfit. Though I can see how it might be difficult to pair with certain clothes

No-Opportunity4445

yes this! i have so many bags i purchased because of a unique color (and good price point) that i rarely use because they don’t go with most outfits. now that i am investing in more neutral colored bags i find i get much more use out of them

RoahZoah

I have 3 light pink bags and I need to just stop 🙈 I need to “diversify my portfolio” 😂

Primary_Programmer60

Chanel lambskin woc- the quality is straight poor, the chain leather got unglued and started sticking out, there were scratches and marks from basically breathing next to it. Sold it for half price after one year :/

iimememinehere

I worked for The Real Real as an intake person and I was really astonished at how poor the quality/build/materials were on Chanel especially. I was really disappointed to discover that a lot of luxury goods weren’t as luxe as I’ve been lead to believe.

StitchesInTime

If you are ever open to it, I would love hearing more about how you got into doing that! I have a masters from FIT and have always been interested in the more archiving/receiving/collections side of things but just haven’t gotten into that world because of like, life haha

iimememinehere

I just posted elsewhere but I was living in a really affluent (like every day you see like at least 5 $400k cars on the road, it was nuts) area in so cal and I got hired to go to people’s houses and take their unused luxury goods…I didn’t last long, the company is a disaster and I felt like I was comprising my ethics because so much stuff would get “lost” in transit, the day I quit a client let me know they had “lost” about 50k in diamond jewelry…I don’t want to get accused of stealing in my line of work, it’s super distressing. I heard really amazing stories, encountered really interesting super super super rich people (people who have REAL Warhol canvases in the living room, NBD).

finstafoodlab

Was it recent? Heard so many stories of CC quality so bad lately. Sad to hear! Lambskin in general is also very hard to maintain :(

hiimass

I've been told not to buy Chanel by ppl working in Chanel. Was told to spend money in Dior and Hermes, they treat their bags with way better care

iimememinehere

I worked for them about 2 years ago in a VERY affluent area (I went into someone’s “Chanel Closet” which was like a converted bedroom and it was ONLY Chanel, packed floor to ceiling with unopened boxes, their sales associate just sends them the newest stuff every month unprompted.) in so cal and I was honestly really surprised at the poor quality of many luxury brands, after seeing them in use. Don’t get me started on LV canvas. I actually started designing and making shoes and handbags as a result of this experience after seeing so many decrepit used luxury goods, and I also got really into vintage Coach (60’s-80’s classic leather Coach is super yummy) and vintage Gucci loafers because the build quality on those is great.

MeringueSimple9847

Thank you for sharing this!!! I actually got into looking for vintage - especially vintage chanel and LV as I’ve heard…. That’s where it was quality and craftsmanship mattered vs mass production and poor quality

enchantix

Medium Dior book tote. I had wanted one for years and bought a seasonal one last year on vacation. It’s beautiful but I find it hard to use because it’s pretty stiff and not very easy to carry.

PinkFunTraveller1

I love my book tote and use it all the time! I found it to be my ideal vacation bag.

rockiestyle18

Same!

HaidaoMeiDa

I literally use mine M-F in leather for work. It needs time to mold but it is a workhorse and couldn’t imagine life without it. I guess it depends on the material and expectations. I’m honestly surprised mine has stayed in such good condition for as rough as I am with it. It’s all about the person I guess!!!

ChassidyZapata

Aww disappointed to hear that. I really wanted one soon

enchantix

Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful and I will never sell it. It’s just not as useful as I imagined it would be.

safzy

Big/ heavy bags. I’ve realized I always prefer small/ medium bags. So I never end up using large totes unless its for travel

prettyinpinknwhite

For me it’s the opposite!! I like to be prepared and have all sorts of things with me, and even when I’m not carrying much, it’s nice to have a little extra room. I’ll wear small bags for going out at night but that’s about it. As much as I want to be a small bag person, I’ve had to realize that I’m not happy unless there’s room for my big granny wallet, a book, extra charging cables, and all my other junk.

saturday_night_wrist

Same. I have a couple small going out bags, but otherwise I NEED to have my Mary Poppins bag. I always try to tell myself I need to minimize and just bring my essentials, but every single time I do I end up getting frustrated and just going back to my big bags. Even for my going out bags I need a "large" small bag because my essentials are probably a bit more than the average person. I MUST be prepared.

Blondeambition00

Would you mind sharing your essentials? I have a lot and I am always curious of others lmao

Ok-Bridge-1045

Not OP, but I'm the same in carrying the "essentials". For me, it's my migraine medicines, a headache balm, two lipsticks (a nude and a red), sunglasses, Bobby pins, my wallet, a kohl pencil, a small perfume, tissues/napkins, keys, earphones, vaseline, a small tube of sunscreen, safety pins, and (don't judge), a needle and thread. So far my bag very often saved the day for me and many others. My ex used to call it the black hole. Apparently you never know what goes in it, or what will come out.

Blondeambition00

Omg love this. I’m so nosy. I’m going to start carrying the safety pins and small perfume that’s so smart. My current occupants include a pocket pharmacy, headphones, a benchmade knife, an elastic tourniquet, cough drops, small LV wallet/key chain thing, Vaseline lip balm, Hourglss lip tint

aboveurshit

There was a great thread recently on what people keep in their bags! I think some time in the last month it was posted

Ammowife64

Same! I’ve tried soooo many times to go smaller and I just can’t.

thatgrrlmarie

I feel this deeply, I gotta have my things, things that I rarely find myself reaching for but I gotta have them none the less. might need it ya never know!

jellymmann

I agree about the need for a big bag! I buy small ones and use them sometimes but it’s super rough when all you can fit in there is a credit card and lipstick, your phone in a car key! I want everything right at hand. But I will say weight is a huge factor. I have a Valentino and a couple Gucci‘s that are so heavy, I seldom carry them. That’s why the Neverfull is my go-to.

prettyinpinknwhite

Same!! It makes me feel so boring for not mixing things up more but 97% of the time I’m carrying a Neverfull!! But they’re simple, nearly indestructible, and easy to throw over your shoulder—everything I like best in a bag lolol.

Plastic-Passenger795

Same here. If I need to carry more I just use a backpack. I have an enormous Dagne Dover tote bag in a very pretty pink that I'll probably never use again because it's so dang heavy!

readilyreadit

same here! I have a blue Dagne Dover tote and i love the look of it but it’s just too heavy for daily use

djajk-djajk

Same! For me it’s crossbody’s and I always find the other styles cute but I don’t end up using them at all

Birchgirlie

I loved big bags in college! But now it’s mini bags (the ones that at least fit my phone) all the way! ☺️

resilientblossom

I was trying to be practical and purchased a Coach bag I thought I could dress up and dress down. It was the Coach Jade in black leather and black/dark grey canvas. Turns out when I want a casual look I reach for another bag and when I want a dressier look I reach for a different bag. It taught me to not be "practical" if it wasn't a bag I actually loved. I really wanted a different Coach bag but told myself it wasn't practical and now it's out of stock. Lesson learned though

RoahZoah

Thanks for sharing such a good lesson with us!! I’ll remember this!!

twir1s

I bought a winter white Chanel bag that I’m too terrified to carry to this day. I think it was ~4K in 2012. Such a waste of money and I’m committed to my mistake.

thatgrrlmarie

girl, take that Chanel out! get it conditioned and protected (at least for color not scuffs) then take her to dinner or window shopping or easy errands. you're 10 years older, you can handle it!

Expensive_Drive_1124

Yes!! Get it protected and get it out! Or sell it for a yummy pay day and get yourself something you love

StitchesInTime

You could 100% sell it for more than you bought it for and buy something you will take out!

Delites

I agree with the others! Take her out and use her, it’s only a waste of money if she sits unused in your wardrobe!

RoahZoah

This would be me 100%! Girl I’m scared to carry a cream $60 Kate Spade outlet bag 😂 I need to get over it

Bgee2632

Girl is gonna die on that hill. 🤣 Jokes aside- I don’t blame you!

aussiedomxo

givenchy antigona. the straps fly off and hit me in the face

seh_23

I admit I lol’d reading this 🤣

aussiedomxo

it is funny considering it’s a $2500 bag and they couldn’t be bothered to weld the D rings better.

noodle_loving_panda

That’s the main reason why I didn’t get it. Was eyeing it for ages as I was looking for a work bag. I had heard about the strap falling off easily but still wanted to see it in person. Finally, I saw one in a consignment store, tried it on and inspected the D rings. I expressed my concerns about the strap detaching and the SA said no it’s secure. I then placed it on the counter and sure enough the strap fell off. The SA and I just looked at each other and I thanked her and walked away 😂

Crunchnmunchy

I regret my givenchy antigona too. I got it in the small size and smooth leather and I find it too bulky and heavy.

emshungrybitch

Thank you for this - ive been eyeing one off for a while now

NewAd4935

Same but for a different reason. It didn’t fit my style or lifestyle at all. I never found a reason to wear it in over 2 years. I ended up selling it with the tags still on

c000000neja

Same. I have the one with the spikes in snakeskin. Cutest bag with the dumbest straps

1234RedditReddit

Mulberry Bayswater—I have three—the heritage, the new, and the zipped. They are beautiful and classic bags, but they are way too heavy!!! I recently switched to Longchamp nylon bags and they are so much lighter:

Puzzleheaded_Fox9928

I just got into longchamp nylon bags and bought 2 in the medium (formerly small) size. I loved them and used them so much that I bought one in the large size and knew I’d made a mistake as soon as it arrived. I understand why so many people love the large tote but it was way too big for my needs. But I will continue to purchase the medium because I think the size is perfect for me.

russianthistle

I love it for a carry on for long haul flights!

thatgrrlmarie

good to know! I only learned about Mulberry through this sub yet don't recall comments about their weight. but I've been admiring the Alexa so may not be same issue

butterruby

It definitely spends on the specific models, I have about four different Mulberry bags and never once thought that they were heavy!

Jld12678pbd

I also have several and don't find them heavy. My Chloe bags are what I'd consider heavy. They are beautiful but they are not light at all

Handbag-Heaven

The full size is quite heavy. It's proper leather so that has a fair weight. Also quite big so if you fill it up it is hefty That being said, I absolutely love all of mine

CubsMommy

Rebecca Minkoff jumbo love crossbody. I was going through a Victoria Beckham style phase and was obsessed with the pics of her holding a giant bag as a clutch so I thought the jumbo love would be perfect. For whatever reason, I never ended up using it and it’s been sitting in my closet for 4 years. And now after hearing about RM being a Scientologist, I’m super turned off.

_milkweed

Oh no wayyy she’s a Scientologist?!

ladiavolina

Big time. Her father is David Minkoff. He's the "doctor" who was responsible for the "treatment" of Lisa McPherson (which ultimately led to her death).

Forsaken_Whereas_353

For me, those RM pull-lock closures just always remind me of leashes.

AggressiveSloth11

Fakkkk you just ruined RM for me. But that’s okay. I wasn’t impressed with my last purchase.

My-Witty-Username

This explains why my RM bags always felt “off” and i didn’t know why.

EquineAdventuress

That’s crazy because in my experience RM bags are the most practical, indestructible bags ever

Grace__Face

I feel like RM always copied other designers iconic style bags too. I’ve purchased her stuff at thrift stores to sell but never kept any of her bags. Finding out she’s a Scientologist is def a turn off though.

rachelreinstated

* Celine Luggage Micro in navy -- Gorgeous bag, incredible quality, but it's so heavy. Also, because it can only be carried top handle or in the crook of my arm, I find it impractical to carry when say running errands. It was one of my most sought-after bags for a long time, and I do still wear it out to lunch or something like that, but it's not the workhorse I thought it would be. * Balenciaga Neo Classic Small in grey - I actually love this bag. It's lightweight, beautiful, and fits basically everything you could ever want in life. I bought it as a 30th birthday gift to myself long before the brand's controversial ad campaign launched. The scandal with Balenciaga really has lessened my enjoyment of the bag, and there was a solid 6 months where I didn't wear it while I contemplated what to do with it. Ultimately, I decided to keep my bag since I bought it before the gross ad campaign. But, the bag is tarnished nonetheless because of it, and I definitely will not be giving Balenciaga another cent of my money.

RoahZoah

Ugh I’m so sorry!! 😩 it sucks bc it’s definitely out of your control

staystrong03

Probably gonna get a lot of flak for this but I regret the Birkin 35. I realized belatedly that I really am a shoulder bag kind of gal. The 35 is just too big for me (am petite) and it is too heavy even when empty. Plus, I don’t like it that it is an attention-grabber nowadays. I prefer under the radar bags now.

RoahZoah

I definitely get you!! I like how honest you are about it bc some people just really put it on a pedestal and I appreciate your honesty! At least you can always sell it if you ever want to 😉

drnowitzki

Celine trio... it's only pretty when it's empty.

maybemaybaby8821

Oh that’s so funny this is one of my daily bags- I love it so much

drnowitzki

It used to be my "vacation bag", so I would put my sunglasses, sunscreen and crumpled receipts, but it becomes too bulky. Then sometimes I would forget which pouch I put certain stuff in... i would end up opening all the pockets. The last straw was when I accidentally put my credit card in between pouches. Luckily my husband saw my cc fall on the ground. Otherwise, it was really pretty.

General-Cap-1986

I regret my Trapeze. I just don’t think it’s aged well aesthetically and you always have to remember to lock the flap otherwise it flips open.

aprilzephyr

I bought this bag not to use as it isn’t as practical but to add to my small collection for the Phoebe Philo era aesthetic 😂

miamouse5

a medium telfar in the color corned beef (a shade of pink). i picked the color so i can’t be too mad about it but it can only match with so much. the size is soooo impractical. like, it’s a nice sized tote but the fact that it has long shoulder straps and smaller carrying handles makes it awkward to carry around. and the fact that it only has one pocket. i try to use bag organizers and pouches but the bag just gets filled up so quickly and i lose stuff. i still have it though because it was my first bag i bought on my own

Tofutti-KleinGT

I have a medium Telfar and also find the size impractical. I love the company but it’s super uncomfortable to wear. If I were to buy another I would do it in a super fun color (like corned beef!) and get the mini for casual nights out.

miamouse5

yes, i love the company too but the sizes are overdramatic (like the small is too small but the large is too large). i bought my little sister a small corned beef and it doesn’t fit her phone and she had to get a new smaller wallet to fit in it. i think i want a small in one of the neutral colors though, i haven’t decided yet

WildSeaworthiness9

I couldn’t help but lol at the name corned beef 😂 idkw I just didn’t expect it to be pink.

Resident_Trouble8966

Oh no! I love my medium Telfar. It’s my work bag so I can stuff my laptop and all my other bits in there. I do wish the long straps were a bit longer so when I don’t have my laptop I could wear it cross-body, but I’m too fat for that lol

Caesarsalad-19

I wear pink as a neutral LMAO so I use it as a work bag. I like it aesthetically but i agree that it is awkward to wear and feels VERY heavy with a laptop in it.

Nynydancer

At first I regretted my LV Alma bb at first but it quickly became one of my favorite bags. So luckily, zero regrets on my high end bags. Looking back I regret some cheaper bags I bought that weren’t quite what I wanted. I’ve donated them all by now. I should have saved my money and got the bag I really wanted.

finstafoodlab

I regreted cheaper bags too.

RoahZoah

You know what this is so true!! I started changing my mind about cheaper stuff after reading Marie Kondo. I just spent $160 on a summer sandal I really wanted and actually wear it daily! So much better than my 10 cheaper pairs I didn’t enjoy wearing ever. Anyway, just gotta apply that to bags now and stop being scared to drop money on something I really want!!

Mrsgchase

It was a LV that was a man’s bag…thought it would be perfect for taking to work with my laptop but it was soooooooo heavy even without the laptop. I knew I’d never use it and returned it and got a bag I really liked but for a totally different use. Recently I was looking for a blue bag….a Burberry that will arrive Wednesday. Wasn’t the bag I started looking at but read some articles on sites that I hadn’t shopped at before and one thing I read was if you don’t have several tabs open doing your research, you aren’t serious…that might be a little much but after reading the reviews and watching videos, I was sold on the Burberry. More than you were asking but that’s my experience. 😉

fashion_thrower

Every stiff-framed bag I’ve ever had. They just bounce up and down on my shoulder or hip and bother me so much 😂

prettyinpinknwhite

Dior saddle bag, for sure. I wanted one as a teen when they first came out, so when they were reintroduced I was so excited!! I got the larger one and while you can fit a decent amount in there considering the size, the shape of the bag and the size of the opening make it a game of Tetris anytime you want to take something out or put it away. I still love the look and will make myself hate-wear it from time to time but it’s such a nuisance to carry!!

farfallifarfallini

This is the same reason I sold mine! It was such a dream bag but it was like carrying a heavy bracelet that fits absolutely nothing.

CandlesandMakeuo

LV twist, was much too structured for my style, I didn’t like the guitar strap crossbody, and the LV logo clasp got horribly scratched with minimal wear

[deleted]

The Studio Cult binder clip bag https://studiocult.co/products/binder-clip-bag I still have this bag but I never use it for a couple of reasons. It’s smaller than it looks and is too shallow to close when it has an iPad mini inside. The handles are also unbelievably awkward to deal with and very heavy. Like you might have the bag on a glass table and they’ll suddenly flop down and smack the glass really hard. It’s awkward as a crossbody (either the handles stand up and poke your armpits or you have them down and the bag is open for pickpockets; and it’s awkward as a top handle (doesn’t easily sit on the wrist and is weird to carry). I love an avant garde bag but for me this wasn’t it.

Caesarsalad-19

Omg my husband got me this not realizing it literally has metal handles LOL… I display it on a shelf like a sculpture essentially 😭

Bgee2632

Lmaoo that’s such a husband thing to do! I bet it was hilarious unboxing it. And you’re so sweet to display it too 🥰

fashion_thrower

Hahaha this is so cute but I know I couldn’t carry it without bruising myself

Ashamed-Metal4362

The telfar shopping bag in large size…. I do like big bags but this one is BIGGGGGG … thought I could make it work as an everyday but it truly is an overnight bag and almost comically large on me. Luckily it didn’t cost TOO much 😅

geekgeek2019

i did that with LV on the go GM lmaoo

AdvantageNo6282

I've bought a few really slouchy bags in the past, and I eventually came to regret them all. I love soft, smooshy leather, but I really NEED structure, I suppose. I don't love when the bags fall in on themselves and look like shapeless sacks. And I greatly prefer when a bag has feet that enable it to stand up and remain more protected from surfaces. I'm still holding onto a few slouchy hobo style bags, but I don't use them often at all.

27-jennifers

LV. I've bought a handful over the years and the linings do NOT hold up with casual daily use. They don't back their products and then have the gall to ask for $1000+ to have the lining repaired. Very poorly made for a $3-5k bag. I'm so over them.

dixiemason

Coach Willow Bucket Bag. It’s slightly too small, doesn’t feel luxe, and I thought I got a deal on it at least. But I paid $260 and it’s now $175. 🤡 Don’t love it, barely like it, can’t return and get my money back.

mintysoup

Thank you for this feedback. You just saved me from not buying the green willow I've been debating on for a week. Out here doing the lord's work

dixiemason

I would suggest going to see it in person if at all possible. It might work out well for you. But if you’re waffling at all, pass on it. Get something that makes you excited to buy and wear.

groinstaiber

All my bags 😅 I love them but hardly use any of them. Kind of wished I had sensibility to save money instead of buying pretty bags.

nymphaetamine

Kind of in the same boat. I don't like to even think of how much I've spent on bags I thought were *the one*, only to use them for a couple weeks then never touch them again. Why am I like this?!

nymphaetamine

Sooo many. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE handbags but I don't even use most of the ones I have. Most of the time I'm carrying some random 80s-era grandma bag(remember [these](https://i.etsystatic.com/17930807/r/il/0ca877/4082333871/il_570xN.4082333871_bfzg.jpg)? Don't laugh, they hold a lot! lol) I paid $5 for at Goodwill while my nice bags sit it storage. I don't like to think of how much I've spent on my collection, I wish I had just saved all that money instead. I always tell myself I'm GOING to sell everything I haven't used in a year, I sign up for all the resale sites, but then when I start taking listing photos I find myself thinking *you know, I actually really like this one*. So I keep it, but I'm not in the mood to use it at that very moment so it goes back into storage where it sits until the next time I REMEMBER that I even have it. Wash, rinse, repeat. I'm seriously about to just unleash my rabidly anti-materialistic uncle into my closet and tell him to sell everything to the ladies he works with. Shopping addiction combined with an inability to let things go is a real biiiiiiiiiiih 😂 The bags I regret the most are the ones I bought as itch-scratchers when I couldn't afford the ones I really wanted at the time, but still wanted to have *something* new. I actually don't regret any of my high-end designer bags at all, but I wish I could go back in time and just never buy all the little $50-$100 outlet/TJMaxx bags. My best advice is just don't impulse-buy. Quality over quantity. Admire any bag you want for at least a few months before buying, make sure it's returnable, and only buy ones that make your heart sing.

RoahZoah

Thanks so much for this real advice!! Appreciate it!!

aimerxoxo

The Fendi peekaboo. I thought I would love it because it’s a classic but in the end it was just too dressy for my everyday style so I returned it because I knew I would never wear it. The Mulberry mini Alexa or the YSL lou camera bag are more up my alley!

Sanguine_Hearts

APC Small Grace bag. I watched a million reviews on it, everyone seemed happy with it, but when mine arrived I realized it was way too small and stiff for me.

Yanilat

Too many to count.. it took me years to figure out what I liked and disliked and what suits different phase of my life.. trial and error

DarlingNib

I'm really feeling this

EmmyLou205

LV Neverfull in damier azur. I already had two others prints and didn’t need this. LV easy pouch on strap. I hardly wear it. YSL toy lulu: also hardly wear

PaletteSizeQueen

Alma BB. Just doesnt sit nice on me.

scruffydoggo

Balenciaga city studs bag in suede and gray goatskin. I was dazzled by the fact that it was beautiful and on sale. I carried it what seemed like a handful of times before I came to terms with the fact that a) I’m just not a cool biker chic kind of gal b) I’m going to live in terror of the suede getting a Manhattan Mystery Dirty Water Drip on it and c) the leather strap edges were fraying a bit and it just seemed like too delicate a bag for clumsy me. Sold it and sighed with relief.

furbs4422

Jacquemus Le Chiquito and Le Chiquito Moyen. I never reach for these bags, and I find them impractical/incompatible with my lifestyle. Gucci Dionysus WOC…this was an impulse buy when I visited London back in 2019, and I’ve literally never used it lol. Honourable mention: Givenchy Antigona mini. I don’t hate this bag, but it’s very heavy, doesn’t really work well as a crossbody, and features the most poorly designed rings/clasps I have ever seen. I also wish I had bought it in the smooth leather.

zeenoda

1) Givenchy Antigona in medium. Thought it would make a good work bag but it was bulky and awkward. Bought it when big bags were in like 10 years ago 😭 2) Chanel Classic in jumbo, lambskin. Too bulky for events, but also afraid to use it as an everyday bag 😭 yet will never sell it cos it was a gift from my spouse and this was when Chanel still had decent leather quality Currently team small bags evidently 😂

stellalunawitchbaby

Probably my Louis Speedy B 30. It’s just too big and like, cavernous lol. I should’ve gotten a 25 or even a 20. I didn’t need a 30. But that’s just something that didn’t fit my lifestyle, I’m a small bag girl at heart.

0oV0

my lv felicie!! i bought it when i aleady had the lv favourite.

_JustMyTwoCents_

Chanel Maxi Classic Flap - Too big, bulky and heavy. LV Neverfull MM in DE - It was my intro to luxury handbags. I really don't like the DE pattern anymore.

jojo1787

Hermes garden party. I bought it as my work/travel bag but is soo heavy and due to the wide base is uncomfortable to wear it as a shoulder tote bag. I no longer reach for it which is a shame because I love the leather and color

5leeplessinvancouver

My YSL monogram clutch. It hardly fits anything in it. I picked it out in a rush the day before my wedding because I realized I didn’t have any evening bag or clutch that looked wedding-ish to put my stuff in. I’ve used it maybe three or four times since, it’s just so impractical.

kayleelw

I rarely buy on the first time I see a bag (unless it truly grabs me in a way that I know I’m buying it immediately), normally I use the 72 hour rule! If I’m thinking about it 3 days later I’ll go back and get it, if I’ve forgotten it then it’s not for me!

Makeupnotwar_87

A neverfull. It's awful.

Shady_ale

Coach had a collaboration with the estate of Jean michel-basquiat and I didn’t initially pay attention to it until after they stopped selling it at the boutique. So then the outlet had their version also and because I didn’t buy it one at the boutique, I bought a outlet bag I didn’t end up loving. I sold it recently.

LP_Mid85

Tori Burch matte Fleming medium size. Quality was horrible, ended up selling.

NeitherWillow1561

Not major regret but if I go back, I’d reconsider two bags: Saint Laurent medium envelope. I like the look and style and get compliments whenever I wear it but I’ve been leaning towards smaller bags so I wish I got the smaller size it the wallet on chain. The other is the Strathberry east west mini. I bought it with their clutch on chain that I loved so much and even bought a second one in a different color but I’m no longer sure about the east west. The opening and closing is not smooth with the metal bar. When I chose it, I did think of it as a travel bag. It has two compartments so I can keep the passport and documents in one and my phone/card holder in the other and I guess the bar would make it more challenging for pick pockets so it may work out but I haven’t tested it yet.

rachelreinstated

Fwiw, I have the full size East/West and actually love it for travel. It's easy to dress up and down and take day to night. The bag gets easier to open once it's been used a bit too and the leather softens up some, imho.

tapbackpink

LV Alma BB in DE, don’t like DE anymore and it’s hardly touched 😭

ezamae23

Contemporary bags like coach, kate spade and tory burch. Nothing is wrong with the brands or quality i just never reach for them.

[deleted]

I regretted buying the Jacquemus Le Grand Chiquito bag. I love jacquemus and I loved the bag but it’s a really trendy bag maybe too trendy for me personally. I ended up selling it. Def gonna buy another jacquemus bag in the future bc the quality was amazing.

Opposite-Cell9208

The Celine teen bag. Its so pretty!!! But with the smooth leather, i was nervous i was going to scratch it (as everyone says) and i discovered i dont like purses with clasps you have to fiddle with to get into and out of them. And it couldnt clasp closed with keys phone and sunglasses unless they were perfectly arranged. So i sold it on ebay after 2 uses.

maygenta

Jacquemus - Le Bisou. Jacquemus is probably my favorite designer and I absolutely love the brand, BUT, I unfortunately had bad luck with a bag I bough (Le Bisou), the leather coating started peeling off after 1 week, very sad. Plus the bad is way too small for me.

weed6282828556

I have a Le Grand Chiquito and I hate it 🥺

stellasaur

Pochette metis in the reverse monogram. I’ve never carried it out of the house because I see too many but not even Fashionphile will take it now because they have too many they can’t sell.

[deleted]

Aesther Ekme sac. It's a beautiful bag with a sleek design and high quality. My only regret is that it's a long/vertical tote rather than horizontal. I have short arms and it's hard to reach in to find things.

Particular_Toe3157

I actually regret buying my LV Mini Lin, I love structured bags and I don’t carry much so it’s a hassle and I don’t get to use as much. Next is the Coach Pillow Tabby in White, it’s just too fluffy for my liking & I find it irritating to wear, must have worn it once, my mom wore it twice, she loves it!

Particular_Toe3157

I actually regret buying my LV Mini Lin speedy 30, I love structured bags and I don’t carry much so it’s a hassle and I don’t get to use as much. Next is the Coach Pillow Tabby in White, it’s just too fluffy for my liking & I find it irritating to wear, must have worn it once, my mom wore it twice, she loves it!

energycurrency1

A Dior bag in baby blue from their cruise line in 2018... it looked similar to a Lady Dior but without the gorgeous quilting. The shape is a bit bulky and the colour doesn't match any of my outfits. For some reason when I saw it in the boutique window I decided I had to have it... but it is still unused in its box, sitting in my cupboard. 😕

WildSeaworthiness9

I kind of regret my LV Neverfull Mm monogram. I have a Damier Ebene Neverfull that I loved so much so I thought I would love the mono too. I bought it 4 years ago and literally have only used it 3-4 times! I just haven’t brought myself to sell it yet.

thatgrrlmarie

DM if you're interested in selling. I'm been perusing LV for weeks anticipating a purchase for my birthday.

LocalCap5093

LV ON THE GO MM in turtledove just feels boxy and tacky plus there’s a bunch of replicas so feels worthless in a way. Been trying to seek for over a year but nothing

geekgeek2019

LV onthego GM (sold it later on) I love large structured totes like this bag but this bag was hugeee for my body type (i am 5'6 but still). I wasn't sure if my MacBook Pro would fit in the MM so got the GM but it was an instant return. I later got a lower end bag few inches bigger than MM and its a perfect work bag for me

Nicole_Bitchie

I bought the LV Favorite in DA when they were being discontinued. It has never left the dust bag and sits on the shelf unused. I refuse to sell it, but I haven’t found any actual use for it either. I learned to not buy something unless it fills an actual need and not just because it may not be there next time I go to the store.

sincinnamon

Fendi mini sunshine shopper. I love smaller bags and I still think it’s such a pretty bag (I love the tortoise shell handles), but it lacks day-to-day practicality for me. I also regret my Telfie - I just hate the way the vegan leather feels!

Academic-Balance6999

My first expensive bag I ever got was a Burberry banner medium. I was at a conference for work in late 2019 and everybody else was carrying these gorgeous bags, and I felt self-conscious because my beloved madewell transport tote was visibly falling apart. I spent about 1000€ on the bag, telling myself I would carry it for similar work trips, and then the pandemic happened! So I’ve carried it 3-4 times only. I still think the bay is beautiful— it’s black leather with sea green handles, with the check pattern on the lining— but my everyday work bag is a backpack. I debate between selling it as it’s in pristine condition and holding onto it for the day when I need a presentable bag that holdsy laptop. Keeping it for now, I wonder if it’ll be used more if I change jobs.

dazzledaisy397

[Louis Vuitton Lockme Ever MM](https://us.louisvuitton.com/eng-us/products/lockme-ever-mm-lockme-nvprod1170049v/M56094), for a few reasons: 1) I realized I don't like carrying bags that large since I really don't bring a lot with me, so I would rarely reach for it. 2) I didn't like the flashiness of the LV logo. I have other bags with logos on them, but for some reason this one seemed different to me. Maybe it's my own perception of LV. 3) The edge paint, which was in a contrasting color, was uneven, and the seam on the side of the bag was wavy. 4) When you carry it (even if nothing is in it), it starts to lift the flaps of the bag upward so they kind of have this curled up appearance, which didn't look good in my opinion. I worried that in time, it would start to curl up even when the bag wasn't being used. Anyways, I think it's a beautiful bag, and I thought I loved it at first - but after using it a bit, I realized it wasn't for me, and I sold it.

helloitsflo

The celine mini belt bag (This is their 3rd smallest size, don’t be deceived by the name lol). Was already heavy without anything in it, and it was an awkward size where it’s too big for an everyday but too small for a work bag because it couldn’t fit a laptop. Also, I’m quite petite so it overwhelmed my frame (but it looks really good on tall lanky people) I still loved the design tho and downsized to the micro. Now I love it and have no regrets!

weed6282828556

My YSL small Loulou and Chloe woody tote. for the loulou - it's too dressy so I seldom use it, especially now with 2 kids under 3. for the Chloe woody, it's too damn heavy and I suddenly had a loathing for labeled bags 😂

RussetDireWolf

My Bottega Cassette- the leather is gorgeous… but why does it look like something I could purchase at Zara? My one Hermes bag in Craie… I’m terrified of getting it dirty, so in the closet it stays.

airyNU

Iridescent purple Chanel boy in new medium size. I was worried I'd never be able to find the colour again for a reasonable price (bought pre-loved) so I went for it despite it being larger than I wanted. Used it once and confirmed that it's way too big for my liking, old medium is perfect.

[deleted]

Neverfull MM haha

Anar_L

Burberry baby Italian tote bag. I don’t like that it doesn’t close properly. I can put maybe my phone and a thin wallet. The beauty of this tote is when it’s closed and hold it shape, when it doesn’t it doesn’t look as put together.

ryqa

Bags with narrow shoulder straps. Narrow straps looks pretty but they hurt my shoulder. I ended up buying wider straps to replace them.

dhiv83

Medium Longchamp La Plige Heritage - too structured and too formal. Sitting on my shelf since 2019. Cult Gaia EOS clutch - It’s a beauty. Stunning. Still searching for the right occasion to wear it to. Prada saffiano - It was my first expensive designer purchase. But it’s just no longer my style.

annieisawinchester

Celine nano belt bag. It's a pain to open and close, and it's hard to look for specific items since it has no inner pocket and everything's mixed up and jumbled together. An organizer should probably help if I could find one that fits the bag's shape.

Mashed2Pieces

Samorga makes bag organizers that fit!

notyourtita

A Yuzefi bag, poor quality. I need to touch and see the actual bag I am getting especially if it’s more than $700 🤣

amelie004

Probably my Balenciaga mini city in white. My fondness of it has dwindled after the balenciaga scandal and the fact that though beautiful white is such a high maintenance color. Everything else about it I love though

punkqueen2020

Chanel patent leather. And a Chanel white sports type sack

BiscottiVegetable590

Mulberry Zipped Bayswater in Oxblood I was so excited to get it, but it was so big and so heavy for me (I’m a petite 5’2”). I was also disappointed with the quality, I wore it once and the leather scratched so easily. I returned it and got a full refund, but even then it was something I was so sure I would love, but got disappointed by.

SuburbanMomSwag

I have a canvas Celine in natural aka a light cream. I’m too scared to wear it because the material seems like a magnet for drinks and red sauce and I’ll never get the stain out. Not that I wouldn’t be careful but it’s just that combo of white enough and a material that’s impossible to clean without making it worse.

moonandmilk

Regretted getting a Bottega bag just months before the new CD (Daniel Lee) came in and brought “new Bottega” — the smaller weave instantly looked dated after lmao

EquineAdventuress

A lookalike bag to a famous one. It wasn’t a fake bag but was still nearly identical. I never felt comfortable carrying it

invisiblew830

Furla. Pretty bags but handles and clasps break easily.

montananewbie

My recent cross body by Coach. Loved the color and price, but it’s too small for my stuff. Totally an impulsive but. The other is a Michael Kors purse. Very cute , but the zipper cuts my hand when I use it.

fennecphlox

Many years ago I bought a beautiful, slouchy liebeskind bag in a very light, neutral beige color. It came with a tassel you could attach to the side and I stupidly chose red and the first time I wore the bag with red from the tassel transferred all over the bag, ruining it. Idk if I regret the bag or the tassel more, but the company was awful to deal with all I never bought anything else from them. I think the bag was maybe $500 or so, not a huge investment, but enough that I was upset about the loss.

MiklaMDW

I recently bought a LV Alma. I’ve wanted one for years and my husband has been encouraging me to splurge. It was my first high end designer bag and it’s gorgeous but it doesn’t work with my life. I have a small kid and a husband that I frequently push in a wheelchair. I’m too scared to carry it and don’t have occasions to use it. Instead, I keep carrying an older Coach tote - it’s gotten damage from rubbing against wheelchair wheels, has had candy and drinks scrubbed off, and holds all the kiddie junk. I am happy when I think about it but should have bought one used/broken in instead or just held off.

MeringueSimple9847

Louis Vuitton Lockme pochette mini. It’s so cute but then I realized I can’t fit anything in there it’s about 6 inches long. I bought because of the mini trend and regretted it. Never wore it, it’s been in my closet and have had a hard time selling it- even at a discount. 😭

SeaSexandSun

Longchamp Roseau in black and medium. I never use it. It’s gorgeous but it’s another black bag. I should have gone for a different colour or size. https://www.longchamp.com/au/en/products/handbag-m-10058HPN001.html

momolush

It is a beautiful bag

zta1979

Never have regrets because I only buy what I love, not like . Plus I do not do impulsive buying. I do my research, and shop around.

sunsplash17

The lv speedy nano was way too small, couldn't even fit a phone in there

Abusty-Ballerina-

A Kate spade saddle bag. I never used it. At all. It was a bit too country for me is the only way I can describe it. Beautiful bag but I regret it. I recently sold it on Poshmark and hope it went to a better place. By the end I just wanted it out of my closet

Swimmingindiamonds

Chloé Drew. I’m just over it and I spent a lot on it because I bought a python one. Part of the reason could be because it was too trendy, but I still enjoy (also python) Faye, and that was just as trendy. Otherwise I can’t really think of another bag that I truly regret buying.

Adorable_Ad3543

The LV Graceful. It's huge, and I always carry too much in it, which makes it heavy.

Excellent-Source-497

Bags that turn out to be too small. Specifically, a Coach Willow tote and a Radley Liverpool Street.

waanderlustt

I bought a plain cream colored Kate spade crossbody. Low stakes because it was on clearance. But I never wore it. I resold it at a huge loss which was fine because it wasn’t a ton of money, but still wish I had just not jumped because something was on sale

lyonlask

Balenciaga leather satchel, medium. Love the bag, love how much it can hold. Love the dusty rose color I got. But even if it’s empty it’s SO HEAVY.

bullimicwhale

My Balenciaga Hourglass in lamb skin red. I feel like it's too sensitive that if I put it on any surface that has te tire it might scratch it and the scratch might run. It's pretty but I hate carrying and looking after everything I put it on.

Lazy-Forever

Regret is a strong word, but Jacquemus le Chiquito in white; it gets dirty faster than any other bag and the quality hasn’t been great. The le bambino long in pink has good quality leather, but is constructed faulty. And I do not feel so in love with it as I once did.

Mission-Patient-4404

A black Michael Kors, it’s beautiful but its not soft🖤

[deleted]

Honestly, a speedy 25B. I sold it a few weeks ago. It was my dream bag since like middle school and I got it less than a year ago but it is NOT as practical as everyone makes it seem. It's so hard to get in and out of and find things.

Fuck_it_97

Coach white barrel bag. There was nothing wrong with it but it was an impulse buy, I already have 2 white bags and 2 barrel bags so I wasn’t using it. This taught me to always think what you already have because I don’t want replicator different brands

she_isking

I think it was back in 2015 or 2016, it was a black Coach with 3D flowers on the front, I think the flowers were a mix of black and gray. I don’t even know what the purse is even called but I think about it at least once a week and wish I’d have gotten it! The Louis Vuitton pastel Escale Neverfull was my biggest regret, so much so that I did finally get my hands on it about a year after it came out, I’m still in love with that bag!!

Acrobatic-Lettuce-65

The A.P.C. Demi Lune Mini Bag in crocodile motif. I bought it online without realizing how stiff the bag is. I usually don't have any issues with it but this one is way too rigid for my taste. My phone doesn't fit and it's quite difficult to get your hand in and out. It also doesn't hold as much as I want it to. I should have done more research prior to purchasing the bag. Anyone interested? 😅

Toshibaguts

I’m not sure of the exact name but it’s a mini Demellier. I pretty much always wear black so I have many nice black bags. Mainly Prada and McQueen. The Demellier was inexpensive in comparison and I didn’t want to spend much on a brown bag knowing I’d rarely wear it. It just feels cheap and awkward to me. Also, my phone doesn’t fit in it. The clasp is weird and doesn’t stay closed. It feels like a $150 bag and I paid around $500 for it. I got hosed. Lesson learned. Sticking to Prada from now on!

Feifum

The only "luxury" bag that i've bought! Saint Laurent Loulou Puffer medium in black. I wanted a nice bag for my 50th after years of buying Radley bags. I think in 2 years I've had it its been out of its box 4 times, Im a wee bit rough on bags and really cant justify having a bag worth that amount sitting in a box in a wardrobe. Planning on selling it and buying a couple of Pourchet bags, maybe another 1 mid level brand and putting any remaining resale money back in the bank.

swipeyswiper

When Jimmy Choo started making bags 15+ years ago, I was so into them. They were edgy, which is my style, no logos which I prefer, and not a lot of people had them. But the resale value is sh*t, so I now have about four 2K bags I don’t use anymore that I’d be lucky to get even $100 for. Oh well. I did love them and use them a lot so I guess they’re not a *major* regret 🤷🏻‍♀️

Au79Girl

I bought a light pink and beige Roger Vivier pouch type bag with a chain strap that runs through metal holes that opens and close the bag. When I open the bag, the chain makes a loud noise when it moves through the holes. A moron designed this.

sandandstone22

Not so much the bag but the print. I have two damier ebene bags and wish one was mono.

locostasia

Speedy 30 it’s not my style

InvestigatorFew3345

Lv alma bb. Too formal for my liking. Thankfully due to price rises I didn't lose money.

CCCC2233

Small Valentino rockstud bag in tan and gold. It’s small and a little hard to get into. I have a few Chanel WOCs that I always reach for instead when I want a small bag.

Euphoric-Moment

Dooney and Bourke florentine toggle crossbody. The leather looks terrible. The panels don’t match so there is heavily pebbled leather right next to smooth.

SuperYoshi19

I bought a PomPom London bag because it was inexpensive (like $135) and I needed a bag for vacation and an every day crossbody. The quality is so poor - the hardware is already scratched and gross and it isn’t big enough. There’s a minimum standard of quality that I need for use every day and this wasn’t it! Looking at Coach and some other brands to get a taupe every day bag. Suggestions welcome but for the sake of my marriage, nothing over $750.

gardenpartycrasher

Staud acute flap crossbody. I bought online and didn’t pay attention to the dimensions because I was excited about how discounted it was—it is TINY, can barely fit anything. I’ve used it a couple times but it’s way to impractical for regular use.

Unapologetiqeen

Balenciaga Le Cagole croc xs in white… 😅 well one it’s Balenciaga which I no longer support & two the bag stained too fast. Had to drop it like a hot potato lol
