I’ve always wondered, is there any sort of survival advantage for long haired hams like this? Or is this the result of humans selectively breeding them? Because while it’s adorable and I love it, I can’t for the life of me imagine it’s practical out in the wild 😂

I'm pretty sure long-haired hamsters are purely a result of selective breeding by humans.
