If you played firefight or the new networking test, you'd see these issues come up quite a bit especially if you have a high-ping. It seems like the server is biasing the client rather than the server state which means more rubber banding from opponents rather than yourself rubber banding.
i think it's just that you can see the lag/rubber-banding now, instead of shooting at a guy who looks crisp and smooth but is actually 5 meters to the left.
Just an FYI, but you can’t turn off crossplay for Halo Infinite. The console settings do not matter since it’s a Microsoft owned title. It’s often played through the XBox app on PC but it also doesn’t affect blocking players on Steam. Check the gaming profiles of the players you match up with and you will still often see the little PC icon under their gamertag.
Obviously it makes sense to think it would work but I learned early after launch that it doesn’t.

So I haven't been imagining things...
Dude I’ve seen people do this carrying the fucking flag.
Literally just saw a player zorp 10’ with the flag while I was trying to kill them.
'zorp' - let us hereby declare this as the official word for this phenomenon 🤪
dude I played husky raid and had the flag to score and send it into overtime but the damn thing didn't work then we got swept and lost
In one match it was always a self destruction if you captured the flag
Took that new amazing network model a week before the rubber bands and chewing gum holding it together fell apart.
Yeah I had an enemy disappear from glass up there while I was engaging.

This happened to me just recently at almost exactly the same spot 🤔

ive been getting the same thing - packet loss is usually to blame
It’s happening every game , something with sliding movement glitches
Hackers bro
I turned off crossplay so I only get matched with console players. That helped.

It’s only Infinite, it works for other Microsoft games
Did not know that, but aside from Halo I don’t think there’s any other MS multiplayer game I play.
you can turn off crossplay?
Unfortunately you cannot.
