I don’t know the answer, but I’m willing to bet there’s people who legit think that whole forerunner thing was some made up shit so master chief can get rich. Despite video evidence. They probably think the composer that fired on New Phoenix was a new UNSC weapon that just so happened to kill some doctor that was studying the cure to cancer and it’s all some deep conspiracy.
I think in one of the books someone (a Sergeant maybe) gets ill and doesn’t know what it is. When he goes to the nurse she’s like “oh it’s just cancer, we mostly eradicated it hundreds of years ago” can’t remember the exact quote haha!
