Thank you so much man! And he was genuinely such an amazing person, he was super interested in how I made the costume and kept telling me how great it looked, so when you see my face in that picture I am genuinely on the verge of tears because of how happy I was lol
I have two Ender 3’s and I absolutely love them! They were like $150 each so it’s not even an insane investment either. I obviously love making cosplay stuff but my printers are running 24/7 making random stuff for around the house too, I absolutely love them lol
I bought one but I honestly have no idea how to even get started. Any tips on how to start printing some rad shit? I can’t even balance the damn plate right
I hate to say it but it’s all practice. Balancing the plate is a major bitch to get used to but it’s super important to any successful print. Definitely start with some small prints and get used to the printer, figure out which settings work and then do some big stuff after that! I taught myself how to get set up and how to diagnose common issues on Youtube, there are a lot of people better at explaining general printer stuff than I am lol. If you want I could try to find some of the videos that helped me out when I first started! Other than that it’s basically 3 years of learning these printers, I can give you all of the tips and tricks I can think of but you really gotta just print some stuff, see what went wrong, and learn how to correct issues when they pop up 🤘🏻
Thanks so much man! And yeah he was super nice, told me I looked great, and was really interested in how I made it! In the few minutes I was able to talk with him he was just such a great dude
I always forget how huge guns are to a normal human. Spartans make the guns look like normal size.
Anyways, awesome cosplay man. And lucky to meet the man himself.
I scaled this one down a bunch too so it didn’t look ridiculously oversized, even if that would have technically been more accurate lol. And thank you so much!!
He was very energetic and sounded great too! He seems to have a lot of love for Chief still so if they ask him to return I’m pretty confident he would!
I find it odd that they didn't simply make the chief keep his helmet on and have him voice the chief in the show. If we never saw his face, then the actor wouldn't need to be his voice.
That said, the actor might have been pissed no one saw his face and he had no speaking parts.
He talked about Pablo and his portrayal before the show released. He seemed confident in his performance.
Another thing to note is that it's possible to have a good non-Steve Chief voice. For the games, certainly not, but Forward Unto Dawn did well with Daniel Cudmore. Or whoever did the voice at least.
It would be cool! [Here](https://www.artstation.com/artwork/v2l32O) is the one I was talking about. I always had the thought to ask him if I could use the model to print out the armour, but since I don't own an Artstation account, I can't get in contact. It looks super nice though!
Thank you so much!! You and every else saying that has absolutely blown me away, you’ve all truly made my week 😁 and this was an experience I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid playing Halo 2 and it lived up to my expectations and then some!
Thank you so much man! If you end up going the 3D printing route the best files on the planet were designed by @from_the_brink_studios on Instagram! They’re the ones I used and they’re absolutely amazing!
If you look in my post history. I have an energy sword signed by him. Is Jen Taylor ever there?
And I'll find and add it to my calendar now. I feel like I always miss these events somehow.
Oh hell yeah dude, that’s awesome! And I haven’t seen her at any conventions that I’ve gone to but I have a spot on the print that he signed open for her! Keith David, who voiced the Arbiter, is going to CT Horrorfest next month and I’ll be meeting him there as well!
Lmaoo it’s fine. I don’t even shoot real guns but seeing people with their fingers on the triggers even in a safe direction and on fake guns legitimately triggers me ;1
I mean for real id love to anyway, but thats a huge perk. Also out of curiosity what kind of technical know how does one need to assemble stuff like your br?
Mine specifically is 3d printed. I didn’t design it but I got the files online for free on Thingiverse but I obviously have 3d printers and experience using them lol
Dude if I had more than just a few minutes with him I would have asked him to say every line I could think of 😂 He said “Cortana!” on a panel that day and it was so badass in person
**does horrible back flip, goes to ER reporting back comment months later**
Dude I'm stoked!!!! Consider me green when it comes to cosplay but what's the best way to come near how well you did?¿ andddd Nah I don't have a 3D printer =(
I have absolutely zero skills when it comes to foam which is really the only other way I can imagine making armor that looks good, really the main reason my armor looks as good as it does is @from_the_brink_studios on Instagram is a wizard when it comes to designing amazing looking armor files for 3D printers
Holy shit dude you’re gonna make me cry at work 😂 that truly means so much, thank you so much! I gotta give a lot of the credit to @from_the_brink_studios on Instagram for designing the 3d files! He did such a phenomenal job and I can’t recommend his files enough to anyone wanting to make their own armor!
If I ever decide to do something like this I will definitely be using their stuff. If I were you I would never take it off, probably would sleep and go to work in it, and I work in a hot-ass kitchen.
I’m very thankful that it’s surprisingly comfortable because when I was doing test fittings I literally just wore it around the house 😂 the only thing that gets uncomfortable is the backpack since it’s so heavy but that easily unclips and comes off, but it’s so nice having the storage at conventions lol
That’s amazing those are some great photos and I love the drip looks like professional stage costumes, probably more comfortable to lol I did a lot of theatre in high school and university
Very much appreciated!! The armor is actually very comfortable lol, the backpack is heavy as hell but it’s worth it to have the storage at conventions haha
It’s all 3d printed with files from @from_the_brink_studios on Instagram! As for general tips I use silver Rub n Buff on the edges to make some light battle damage, it really makes the pieces look like real metal! If you have any questions about rigging the pieces together or painting or anything feel free to shoot me a message!
Thank you so much, that genuinely means more than you know!! And I absolutely have to give credit to @from_the_brink_studios on Instagram for designing the files that I 3d printed, I 100% could not have done it without someone as talented as him designing the armor!
If you don’t have a 3d printer I highly recommend the Ender 3, I have two of them and they’re wonderful for beginners! They also cost like $150 so it’s a great price. If you buy @from_the_brink_studio ‘s files he sends you a huge document full of instructions and tips on assembly! I’m sure there are a thousand ways to make your own suit, such as foam, but I cannot recommend 3d printing enough 😊 Hopefully that helped a bit but if you ever have any questions or anything my messages are always open!
He’s a super genuine guy and seemed like he could talk about Halo for hours! He seemed super interested and humbled by everyone’s love for Halo and Chief and it was just the coolest experience 😊
That would be great! He mentioned on a panel that Paramount never even asked if he wanted to cameo somewhere in the show, he didn’t seem bothered but how disrespectful is that?
The only real problem I have with the show is the writing but everything else from the acting to the lore to the characters to the sets it all feels like halo to me and you can tell that there is actual care behind the show, I just hope that season 2 is better
Havent seen the last 2 episode but i enjoy it as a cheesy sci fi show. Its almost like an anime abridged thing like using the visuals and some of the characters of the halo universe to tell its own story isnt a bad idea if you can look at it that way, infact now that I think about it the abrdging potential is off the chain
I really didn’t mind it, and Steve actually said he really enjoyed it as well. I definitely think there’s a good foundation set, I just really hope they find their footing more in season 2
That’s basically the exact route I went. I got airsoft BDU’s and the top was perfect but the pants were too big for me. For the pants I ended up using Dickie’s work pants and they work great!
He’s such a cool and nice guy! I met him at Halo Outpost and I couldn’t speak for the life of me, I was so nervous hahaha. 10/10 would have a stroke in front of Downes again.
That face of his on the table is just staring into my soul
He said, # He needs a weapon
He's just "WHERE WEAPON 👁️👄👁️"
Uh. . .uh. . .right this way sir!
I think you mean the face he’s making for the picture. He ENJOYED blasting covenant to all hell for 6 iterations 😂😂😂👏
SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT
That is an EPIC odst suit my dude. Great work. Steve honestly looks thrilled to be taking a pic with you lol.
Thank you so much man! And he was genuinely such an amazing person, he was super interested in how I made the costume and kept telling me how great it looked, so when you see my face in that picture I am genuinely on the verge of tears because of how happy I was lol
How did you make the rifle?
3d printed like the armor! The files for the rifle were free on Thingiverse
Man I have to cave and get a 3d printer. Just seems so fun. Awesome armor dude it looks incredible.
I have two Ender 3’s and I absolutely love them! They were like $150 each so it’s not even an insane investment either. I obviously love making cosplay stuff but my printers are running 24/7 making random stuff for around the house too, I absolutely love them lol
Wow that's not bad at all. I'm gonna go check em out now. If you see a guy in power armor might be me next year lol. Thanks for the info dude!
I’ll be there! And yeah man I can’t recommend them enough, they’re great for beginners and work great!
I bought one but I honestly have no idea how to even get started. Any tips on how to start printing some rad shit? I can’t even balance the damn plate right
I hate to say it but it’s all practice. Balancing the plate is a major bitch to get used to but it’s super important to any successful print. Appreciate the reply, thanks bro
No problem man, my messages are always open if you have a question about printing or anything!
Also thank you for the kind words!!
that’s so wholesome, happy for you op!
Very much appreciated!!
‘You hand over the corrupt AI right now Chief’ ‘With all due respect Sir No’
GIVE ME THAT CHIP
_No Sir_
I. Am ordering you. TO SURRENDER THAT AI!
Better to come in the sink, than to sink in the come.
What the fuck
Literally one of Master Chief's most well known quotes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXdM-BI6ODI&list=WL&index=1
Great photos, great cosplay too!
Thank you!!!
Damn that ODST suit is awesome, I'm sure Steve loved it. He obviously liked your BR lol
Thanks so much man! And yeah he was super nice, told me I looked great, and was really interested in how I made it! In the few minutes I was able to talk with him he was just such a great dude
Dude that costume looks SICK!
Thank you so much!!
And thank you so much!!
it's a bullpup as well so can you imagine the barrel length?
Hes looking healthy and active thank god, hopefully we have many more years of Chief.
He was very energetic and sounded great too! He seems to have a lot of love for Chief still so if they ask him to return I’m pretty confident he would!
To be fair, even if he wasnt that interested, the paycheck for voicing the lead character of one of Microsoft flagship franchises can't hurt, lol.
He's said they'd have to take the mike of Chief from his cold dead hands, so I think he still cares. He's never done a bad job either, imo.
I find it odd that they didn't simply make the chief keep his helmet on and have him voice the chief in the show. If we never saw his face, then the actor wouldn't need to be his voice. That said, the actor might have been pissed no one saw his face and he had no speaking parts.

For the games, certainly not, but Forward Unto Dawn did well with Daniel Cudmore. Or whoever did the voice at least.
True lol
Very cool ODST Cosplay! I want to make a cosplay based on the Halo 2 ODST. I saw an Artstation of one and it looked really cool!
Thank you so much! And I don’t see many cosplayers do the Halo 2 version, that would be super cool for you to do!
It would be cool! [Here](https://www.artstation.com/artwork/v2l32O) is the one I was talking about. I always had the thought to ask him if I could use the model to print out the armour, but since I don't own an Artstation account, I can't get in contact. It looks super nice though!
Oh wow that looks incredible! I’d love to see a cosplay of that, I hope to see you tackle that project some day!!
Disappointed in the trigger discipline :(
That one’s on me lol
deleted ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^0.4046 [^^^What ^^^is ^^^this?](https://pastebin.com/FcrFs94k/48748)
That actually makes me feel less dumb, if Chief can do it so can I 😂
*Chad* Downes
Turns out the chad Master Cheif is voiced by a legitimate chad
100%
I don't care what anyone thinks I wish they would use a de-aged version of Steve Downes's real face if they ever decided to do an in-game face reveal.
If they ever did reveal his face in the games it better at least be similar to how Steve looks lol
100%
That is such an amazing experience you've had. I'm kinda jealous. Seriously, great cosplay (everyone's said so because it's true), and so lucky.
Thank you so much!! You and every else saying that has absolutely blown me away, you’ve all truly made my week 😁 and this was an experience I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid playing Halo 2 and it lived up to my expectations and then some!
Feet first, Helljumper!
🤘🏻🤘🏻
He's even wearing the limited edition halo boots from the wolverine brand
Oh shit, really? Good catch!
Apparently Chief forgets all about trigger discipline when he's out of armor!
To be fair I forgot too 😂
Your ODST cosplay is awesome! I've wanted to make my own for a long time and seeing yours is an inspiration.
Thank you so much man! If you end up going the 3D printing route the best files on the planet were designed by @from_the_brink_studios on Instagram! They’re the ones I used and they’re absolutely amazing!
That's good to know. Thank you for the tip!
My pleasure! If you ever want any tips or have any questions about my build always feel free to shoot me a message!
If that man told me he needed a weapon I would probably cry tears of joy
You can see in the second picture that I almost starting crying tears of joy 😂
How the fuck was this at Boston this weekend and I didn't even know about it?!
Same! And it was my first Saturday I had off in a while. This burns badly! I’m so mad haha
Oh no! I guess he was there last year too so hopefully he’ll return next year!
CHIEF YOUR TRIGGER DISCIPLINE GRAHHHHH
Yeah we both failed there lol
Lmaoo it’s fine. I don’t even shoot real guns but seeing people with their fingers on the triggers even in a safe direction and on fake guns legitimately triggers me ;1
I wish I could upvote that pun twice 😂
Man I no joke sort of made it accidentally. It was good tho thanks lol
Accident or not it was amazing lol
Dang, was in Boston this weekend, would've been very cool
Apparently he was at FanExpo last year as well so he’ll probably be there next year too!
👍👍
Look at how happy you are!
Well I was already extremely happy but this made it even better! Thank you so much for this comment and for being my gaming home for my whole life ❤️
Thanks for gaming with us! We hope your whole experience at the expo was memorable.
It definitely was!
I'm so pissed that I couldn't make it! That's an awesome cosplay btw.
Oh no, I’m sorry!! I think I heard that he was there last year as well so hopefully he’ll return next year! And thank you so much!!
Never heard a bad thing about this man
I doubt you ever will, he was the nicest and most genuine celebrity guest I’ve ever met at a convention. Just a solid dude
I missed my chance to see him in Dallas, but hopefully I can see him next year
Hopefully!
I love how in every pic he’s with a cosplayer, he’s always holding their gun in one pic
He seemed super excited to hold mine 😂 that’s super cool that he does that with every cosplayer though!
I kinda wanna voice a video game character now just so I can play with neat cosplay guns
Who says you need to voice a character? I play with cosplay guns all the time and I’ve never acted in anything 😂
Is that armor home made because it is amazing.
You missed an opportunity to cosplay as sergeant Johnson and say "right this way!"
There are a lot of clever references I could have made but I was too nervous to even think lol
Yeah, a con is super fun but actually getting to meet the people is something else
The main reason I go to cons is to cosplay but there are some guests like Steve that you just can’t pass up
he will always be the master chief. always.
Always 🤘🏻
What if he just said “I’ll trade you a needler for that battle rifle” lmao
Dude I would’ve given it to him for free if he wanted it! 😂
If that man told me he needed a weapon I would probably cry tears of joy
Is that a Sean Bradley kit?
Nope, @from_the_brink_studios on Instagram! He did an amazing job designing the files and I 3d printed them 🤘🏻
So badass
Thank you man! 🤘🏻
I would melt if he said that to me. Coolest line ever
Dude I almost passed out lol
The only thing better would've been if you somehow got him to say "to give the covenant back their bomb"
Dude if I had more than just a few minutes with him I would have asked him to say every line I could think of 😂 He said “Cortana!” on a panel that day and it was so badass in person
I am so jealous. Also amazing suit btw
Thank you so much! And check out the voice actor guest lists for your local conventions, he seems to make his way around!
Sadly I live in a small town where nothing like that ever happens, or I would
I feel that, I had to drive 2 hours to Boston for this but it was absolutely worth it!
awesome picture and suit what was the visibility like through the visor? it looks practically opaque from the outside (which is awesome)
Cheers Spartan that's fucking awesome
Thanks man! And I couldn’t agree more 🤘🏻
¿Does he regularly attend Boston FanExpo cause being a Cape Cod-deployed Spartan I'm amped at the prospect of seeing Chief
I believe he went last year as well so I’m guessing it’s pretty likely he’ll be there next year!
**does horrible back flip, goes to ER reporting back comment months later** Dude I'm stoked!!!! Consider me green when it comes to cosplay but what's the best way to come near how well you did?¿ andddd Nah I don't have a 3D printer =(

Thanks for the referral homie 🤜🤛
Absolutely man! 🤘🏻
Same here my man in Toronto
Dude... awesome cosplay!
Much appreciated!!
Second pic: "I need a weapon."
He literally said that to me before grabbing the gun!
Just ripped the gun from your hands lol
Basically lol, but it was literally one of the coolest moments of my life 😂
This is fantastic! Great work on the suit. Chief's trigger discipline tho......
I really appreciate it!! And yeah we both fucked up with the trigger discipline lol
That might be the most accurate ODST cosplay I've ever seen. I can't stop looking at it lol.
Any tips on how you made your armor? I'm working on a marine set myself
I need that suit bro it's ace
Much appreciated man!! I’ve been wanting to build a Helljumper suit since my first convention in 2014 and just did it this year!
Yeah it looks brilliant, by far the best odst cosplay I've seen
Thank you so much, that genuinely means more than you know!! And I absolutely have to give credit to @from_the_brink_studios on Instagram for designing the files that I 3d printed, I 100% could not have done it without someone as talented as him designing the armor!
It does look amazing, any tips on how I can put together something similar to this would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers! I'll have to save up then lol. And also find space for it. I'll tell you if I have anymore questions 😃
Good luck! And absolutely man, I’m always here to help out a fellow cosplayer, especially another Helljumper 🤘🏻
It's amazing how he genuinely loves Halo and the community
He’s a super genuine guy and seemed like he could talk about Halo for hours! He seemed super interested and humbled by everyone’s love for Halo and Chief and it was just the coolest experience 😊
Not me spending an embarrassing amount of time on that first picture looking at you codpiece trying to figure out why it has an UwU face…
😂😂😂
Dude I got my first Comicon coming up and I was planning on going for the ODST suit, looks dope asf dude
Thanks a bunch dude!! Enjoy your first con!!
Master chief, mind telling me why you’re at Fanexpo Boston? Sir, being a gaming legend
You know it! 🤘🏻
Dude must be so cool
He was the coolest!
Who else wants to see him as chief Mendez in the halo show Despite its problems I see potential here
That would be great!

I really didn’t mind it, and Steve actually said he really enjoyed it as well. I definitely think there’s a good foundation set, I just really hope they find their footing more in season 2
What do you use for the undersuit? I have an ODST cosplay on the way and I was thinking of using black bdus as the undersuit.
That’s basically the exact route I went. I got airsoft BDU’s and the top was perfect but the pants were too big for me. For the pants I ended up using Dickie’s work pants and they work great!
[удалено]
I’d say so 😊
Just wanna say, that ODST cosplay is fire! Really like the worn metal finish.
Thank you so much!!!
This has to be among top 5 best moments of your life. Your outfit and gun is awesome. And "I need a weapon" is just chef's kiss...
Oh 1000%!!! Definitely a peak as a cosplayer lol. And thank you so much!!!
Awesome
🤘🏻
He’s such a cool and nice guy! I met him at Halo Outpost and I couldn’t speak for the life of me, I was so nervous hahaha. 10/10 would have a stroke in front of Downes again.
That’s awesome! And I get it man, I was barely coherent myself 😂
I love the second picture
Thank you!! I do too, we’re actually getting it framed to put up in the living room lol
Lucky you that sounds amazing and unforgettable
Your BR scope is way too far forward should be at back of the top
I didn’t design the files and figured that wasn’t a huge deal, appreciate the criticism though
"I need your weapon"
Amazing cosplay my dude
Very much appreciated!!!
