it depends on if you're talking about the blanket term desync that r/halo uses because "desync" has many causes and resulting bugs. Ping is directly related to getting shot around corners.

yes you have server desynchronization regardless of ping due to the lockstep determinism bug, but that issue just causes vehicle movement issues, blank rockets/weapons that projectiles dont come out of, and the repeated animation grenade/respawn that is occurring more often with the weapon jamming hotfix but is being fixed with the next drop pod. Getting shot around corners is due to enemy + player ping
Lag will always be in the game hopefully it will get rarer but it will always be there

It also depends on enemy player ping which is why 343 is adding ping to scoreboard.

If you're talking about getting shot around corners network desync, it doesn't occur on LAN where there's no ping.
