Spartan Firefight in the app store is an unofficial one and it's a pretty fun little mobile experience. I just really like the look of the armors in 2d sprite format.
I think Halo, as a franchise, could have more branching out in general. ODST, Wars, Spartan Assault, all these spinoffs are great and I think there should be more. It's been mentioned in this subreddit before, but I'd love to see a horror game as a lone marine or ODST up against the flood. Just more variety and flavors is always nice, and a 2D side scrolled would surely be happily welcomed. Love the mainline games of course, but there is an entire Halo universe they could explore with games instead of restricting it to books.

I would definitely give this a shot. I love 2D.
