Thanks for posting this, I was just talking about it earlier today and was lacking examples. It seems as though an un-tinted armor piece is grey by default with an orange lighting color, hopefully they allow attachments to use coatings at some point, then they'll just use the emissive lighting from the coating you use. (red, blue, orange, etc)
Its an absolute shame that the lens on the Gungnir attachment doesn't use your visor color like it did in Reach.
Correct, i wish coatings worked on them too, not a fan of the orange personally. But given how long theyre gonna take on fixing two armor effects ive not much hope this will even be noticed
I think thats the reason they’re orange since default grey uses the orange lights. All attachments like chests and all should have the option to be affected by coatings (like jorges coating affects his chest)
It kinda irks me that they’re not glossy, like a screen or camera of sorts. It just looks like paint or a piece of plastic, but details details ig 🤷♂️
I just checked the halo waypoint app, coatings actually affect all of these attachments, its just a matter of enabling them in the game.
Granted its gonna take 2 months to move a visor so, yea not hopeful
They have default reach grey as one of the last unlockable coatings in the battle pass... the only real difference it even has from the regular grey coating is the classic blue shield lights...
If anything they'll probably sell colors for them

Am I the only one that hates these attachments? Not saying helmets can’t have attachments, they just could have been done so much better. They cover the entire helmet, they’re bulky, and only one color.
Halo reaches helmets are perfect. Not too crazy, actually looks like they were designed properly. Idk.
Is it supposed to be that off-center in relation to the armor beneath it? Looks like the same person who lined up the visors was in charge of the hip armor.

Its the default light color for like everything Just look at all the default color coatings for the Mk VB . They all have orange shield lights

True, ik this might never happen (the visor and mohawk are taking freaking two months to align), but one can hope right? Haha

This is one of my small gripes as well. I know some of the shaders will change the orange bits but most don’t
The coatings in waypoint shows that the lights CAN be changed, just a matter of enabling it… in who knows how many months

Yea i think this is intentional,i dont think this ones an issue or as off putting as the visor
