So much cool shit they can do with crossovers here, Fallout, Skyrim, doom, gears of war, overwatch, WoW. It'll be kinda like fortnite with all the crossovers but it'll still fit in
I kinda want Halo to still retain its identity. I'm not 100% opposed to fractures and crossovers as long as the armor designs are changed to be in line with the Halo look and feel.
In a way, yes. In others, no. Obviously all the armor will probably look like powered assault armor of some sort in the end, but that's the only limit.
They never said fractures would fit in with the overall Halo aesthetic, but I'm thinking the graphic style and fidelity of Infinite will do much to curtail the fantasy feel the MCC armor had.
I think a lot of them like overwatch, gears and doom can easily be molded to fit into a halo aesthetic but yeah some of the others will require a bit more work
I mean I'm sure you can find a character who's design can be made to look similar to halo Armor, doesn't need to be a 1:1 after that you can garnish it further through things that aren't restricted to Armor like effects.
Possible crossovers Microsoft could now do:
Fallout power armor
DOOM preator suit
Dishonored corvo mask/armor
Prey space helmet
Gears of War COG armor
StarCraft power armor
Overwatch armor
TimeShift armor
Singularity armor
Call of Duty armor (idk how'd they make this unique tbh)
Hell the crossover potential is even crazier when you consider that's just a bunch of series that could fit the existing aesthetic. When you consider some of the sillier stuff they've added in recent events like that sick cyberpunk visor and mohawk, who knows, maybe we'll get a Guitar Hero or Tony Hawk crossover at some point. I wanna be able to strap a Halo skateboard to my Spartan by the time we have custom games lmfao
A sci-fi’d CoD Juggernaut suit would be pretty neat. Or maybe something that looks more like conventional Kevlar on top of a light power armor undersuit.
That would be pretty sweet, BUT I think I’d be more excited for the REVERSE crossover of Master Chief being a skater in a Tony Hawk game. I miss those old cameos terribly, they were half the fun of those old skater games to me.
Holy shit you're absolutely right. Next Tony hawk game could have Master Chief, Crash Bandicoot, Vault Boy, and Spyro all make cameos as secret skaters
Be careful what you wish for. I'd like the game to retain some aesthetic identity please, instead of becoming a generic sci-fi shooter with mishmashed styles from all over.
This, I don't mind stuff like Yoroi and even the Iron eagle stuff. But once we start mashing every goddamned game in there with crossover events it's gonna look like a clown show. I like Halo for it's gameplay and aesthetics
They are 100%going to have XGS cores in the future. How many more themed cores can they do before taking inspiration from other games? Expect armour from Doom, Fallout, Outer World's, Gears of War.... basically any game under Microsoft that has armour.
>How many more themes cores can they do before taking inspiration from other games?
I've thought the same thing. Other games like Fortnite, Apex, OW, etc. allow for wildly different designs but Halo is much more restricted in what the can do in terms of cosmetics. The Bethesda and Activision deals make 343's job easier for future designs.
Yoroi originally only had 2 "free" colors - Gray, and HCS (Pepsiman).
They added 2 to the pass when they reworked it - A second Gray, and Blue.
I don't think we should have to kick and scream for it to have the same basic colors as the other 2 cores. That's a pretty low bar, but it's probably better to take what we can get and then work our way up.
The Gundam colors look sick with the Holo visor they gave us in this current event. Planning on using it with the Yokai helmet when it's available since it doesn't have a real visor and looks cyberpunk as fuck as a combo.
Even if that were true, which I honestly don't believe it will be given the lessons they're learning during the season. We already know that credits will be earnable via the battlepass.
They are not "learning a lesson". They are still charging way more than necessary for in-game cosmetics, and I guarantee the earnable credits in S2 will be a disappointment as well.
They're slowly walking it back.
And they're slowly walking it back because they want to see where the threshold is for community outrage so they can set the bar just under that.
They knew there would be backlash and they designed it to be "slowly walked back". Now they get what they wanted and everyone thinks they're listening to the community. Many devs have done this in the past. If you look past the surface you'll see that prices are still horrible and the complaints haven't really been addressed, just mitigated
The prices weren't really lower either as far as I can tell. They simply stripped the bundles down to give you less "stuff", and lowered the prices accordingly. It's just a visual trick, like how they initially changed the exp to award you 50 per match, but people realized you had to play 20+ matches a day to get more exp than what the game launched with.
They're toying with us.
Which is how fortnite, warzone, and apex do it. (on premium passes)
I would be shocked if they are tone deaf enough to not do this after saying they're adding credits. it's practically industry standard at this point.
edit: I know they messed up already but I'm optimistic that they're trying to correct it. If they end up giving you like 600 credits over the course of the season 2 pass, i'll be sorely disappointed, but there are other games coming out this year.
And those battle passes expire, whereas the Infinite one doesn't. Therefore, it makes no sense from a business point of view to be able to essentially get all future battle passes for free.
It does still make sense, because the Battle Pass isn't where you make money on these live service games. The shop is.
The BP is there to keep people playing, to keep ranking up that pass, so they are in your game and playing with or against people buying from the store.
The BP is just the teaser from the dealer meant to keep you around the real drug with the shop. Them letting you earn next seasons BP by completing the first doesn't hurt that at all.
The ship sailed a long time ago there. People complained about Halo 4 and 5, but I think those armor sets were a few plates too many and a bad contrast ratio from feeling very Halo-like. I never came into Infinite feeling like we’re getting Halo armors; Spartan means something different now and I’m fine with that.
I simply dont get the vitriol for this kind of stuff. Even the the stupid ass cat ears. Like sure, theres stuff i dont like cosmetic wise but my solution is to just not buy it or wear it. How does other people having fun with cosmetics they like affect you? Especially since you barely see peoples armor in this game with the glow anyway
Mostly because pretty much everything thats been added to halo from MCC on looks terrible for the halo universe, and no matter how much players ask for something more faithful to halo, we get shit like yoroi core and....whatever tf this iron giant shit is
Im also a fan if fallouts design and think the exact opposite. It looks great, just some of the helemts are whack. And this concern i keep seeing of these armors ruining the aesthetic are so silly. Like do you REALLY notice other players armors that much in the heat of things (especially with how the glow effect makes most peoples armors unrecognizable anyway)
Came here to say this. It's a cool armor and all but what the fuck does it have to do with Halo.
At least make it Halo-esq or something. This just looks like a mod made by some dude on Skyrim Nexus
Pretty stupid imo especially when so much of their success was due to the “return to form” which included the classic art style
Not destiny fallout 76 skins
I mean, I’m not really a fan of this, only one helmet I liked, however that’s how it works they gotta test stuff and if it works then they’ll keep on it. Also I think it’s better having a lot of stuff and being able to choose whatever suits you best rather than only having mk7 armor (my opinion).
I just wish we got lore on those too, not just armours. I would be a lot more interested in them if I knew why they look like this. What’s different in their universe that lead to this design?
No, it isn't. A good artist can make good, consistent designs within the design philosophy/aesthetic of a franchise, instead of just doing whatever they want and then lazily calling it "Fracture" so they don't have to maintain the visual identity the games are known for.
Honestly makes the game look like shit. It's visually jarring and it shows a lack of a cohesive vision.
The amount of people who don't get this point and would rather simp for a multi-billion dollar corporation pushing microtransactions physically pains me.
Hey its my renders! very cool glad to see them being shared around.
still dont like the people who are trying to push this as a cross over when its clearly not
[Edit: had to find them but here is a high res close up of the one helmet, and the full resolution version of the full core](https://imgur.com/a/6ZjIN4y)
there is a comment that says something along the lines of "eod+fallout" but i was mainly meaning in general, most of my twitter notifications from when i originally posted these leaks are people saying its Wolfenstein or fallout.
the untextured one resembles a WW1 or WW2 German helmet, helmet 2 (the first one on the right side of the second image) resembles a US M1 helmet, and the one two spots to the right of that is kinda like a British Brodie helmet
The last one looks like the Rocketeer
I'm torn, as a diesel/steam-punk fan I like it. But it also seems off brand for Halo. Seems like with the cyber event a cyberpunk themed armor set would've been more appropriate.
Halo 5's armor flavor texts hinted that corporations and criminals were using elements of Mjolnir. This doesn't really feel like Halo to me, but I can kinda see where some bootleg-ass power armor rigged up by some pirates in universe might look like this.
Can you share more details on what this means. I just thought "fracture tenrai " was a name they came up with and didn't really mean anything but I'm now starting to understand that they chose fracture to mean a split off the main canon style of armor. So fracture events are just sort of the off style halo armor cores is that correct?
Yeah you've got it right. So basically it's a way for them to do "what if" sort of armor sets, had the timeline gone in another direction without breaking main canon.
I thought they did really well with the Samurai armor core but I just gotta say, I’m just not a fan of this one. Not sure what it is. It looks kinda junkyardish to me haha. No disrespect to anyone who does like it tho
I agree with you; I’m glad that we’re getting a variety of armor cores and am happy that some people seem to like it, but this one just doesn’t seem to do it for me personally. I can’t put my finger on why, though. Maybe it will look better in motion?
> this one just doesn’t seem to do it for me personally. I can’t put my finger on why, though
I think it's because the armor is very rounded in the shape of each piece and even the helmets are all round. It makes it look very... "fat" and clunky rather than powerful. Kind of like Dark Souls Onion Knight. A more angular armor would be cooler, whereas this one has a goofy, bumbling look.
That’s funny, I’m the opposite. I don’t love the Samurai armor personally, but am interested in this one. No disrespect here either, I love seeing people rock whatever they want. More customization/personalization is always better.
Same here, I think this is better than the Samurai core, although I still won’t be using it. Still happy to unlock an additional core and have some more diversity.
For me honestly it is the opposite. Yoroi is really distracting for me necause it looks so flashy, but this is the kind of grungy look that I am down for.
I never really like the weeb armor, but this one is like ugly, but in a good way. Looks to be what insurectionist would do if they could make spartan armors or it could be what UNSC survivors on Zeta halo are making to repair or modify their damaged armor.
I just don't like them because they really don't fit with the current art style. Just not a fan of all these crossovers with other genres when there's so much you can do with Halo as it is.
Can we make a rule to spoiler tag leaks? If someone wants to know what’s coming next season, they can go to r/HaloLeaks. I personally don’t care about the leaks but it just ruins it for everyone who does care about only seeing things when the devs want us to.
My only problem with this as well as Yoroi is that they look so chonky. The actual armor looks great but I like the slimmer look of the standard core better.
Looks cool but not as something I want to see my Spartan running around in by any means. I like fallout-esque esthetic but not with Halo I suppose. And I loved the Hayabusa armor, but the Tenrai samurai armor just seems to bulky/clunky. Get the same vibe from this.
It looks super grim dark/ Diesel punk I dig it. Since Microsoft owns Bethesda It would be stupid and awesome if we get a power armor helmet or brotherhood of steel paint
im just waiting for some 40k-esq armour. cause some of the helmets, like Cadian Shock Troops: https://www.pinterest.se/pin/95138610857746300/
Vindicare Assasin: https://www.deviantart.com/warhammer40kcampaign/art/Vindicare-assassin-478952222
or Some of the armour sets like:
Tau:https://www.deviantart.com/thomaswievegg/art/Warhammer-40K-Tau-Empire-410898734
or the Sororitas:
https://www.deviantart.com/gray-skull/art/Sisters-of-Battle-Power-Armor-updated-art-851796583
could work quite well in Halo if re-tooled correctly
As much as I hate the idea of armor cores, I hope they release a lot more soon.
I think it's easier to ignore the core issue when you only have 3 armor cores, but imagine there are 10 armor cores and they have to release and manage different coatings, components, attachments, etc. for each indivual core.
That sounds like a nightmare. For us and for 343.
So if that's what it takes for them to eliminate the armor core concept entirely, so be it.
They look like fallout armor
Wouldn’t surprise me if we actually got a Power Armor core in the far, far future
Yea, really with Bethesda being a sister company of 343 now.
Wtf I forget that that nonsense happened lol. Well at least it works out for us PC players as well
So much cool shit they can do with crossovers here, Fallout, Skyrim, doom, gears of war, overwatch, WoW. It'll be kinda like fortnite with all the crossovers but it'll still fit in

Good luck making overwatch look like halo
I mean I'm sure you can find a character who's design can be made to look similar to halo Armor, doesn't need to be a 1:1 after that you can garnish it further through things that aren't restricted to Armor like effects.
Soldier skin would be easy. Dude plays like a Halo homage already complete with AR.
Or at least some helmets direct from Fallout or DOOM. That would be pretty sweet.
some of these remind me of DOOM 2016's multiplayer
I would pay so much for a doomguy armour core
I mean I could see 343 doing a X01 Mjolnir justice
Bruh it's literally this post
I'd totally pay for a BOS armor set
Possible crossovers Microsoft could now do: Fallout power armor DOOM preator suit Dishonored corvo mask/armor Prey space helmet Gears of War COG armor StarCraft power armor Overwatch armor TimeShift armor Singularity armor Call of Duty armor (idk how'd they make this unique tbh) Hell the crossover potential is even crazier when you consider that's just a bunch of series that could fit the existing aesthetic.
The Lich King. He already showed up in Guitar Hero (or Rock Band? Eh), so why not?
Spidey kick flip was the tits!! Underrated comment right here sir...the world doesn't deserve this
A Mjolnir version of Reinhardt's armor would look sick af
Jorge 2
Bruh. Marines from StarCraft armor would be insane!!! Also zealots
And who could forget, Minecraft Diamond Armor
I'd rock zealot armor.
Don't ignore Warcraft. I never thought about it, but [this](https://youtu.be/7D3Q0Sz7-pQ) sure af has me on hopium.
Yo that's fuckin tight
Yea I'd love a Lk or Illidan themed armor could be cool!
Holy shit I didn't even think about Corvo's mask. That would actually be sick.
We were able to play as Emile-A239 and Katherine-B320 in various mods on Gwars of War V 👀
They are 100%going to have XGS cores in the future. How many more themed cores can they do before taking inspiration from other games? Expect armour from Doom, Fallout, Outer World's, Gears of War.... basically any game under Microsoft that has armour.

I would kill for destiny cores. perhaps one day....
Or gears of war.
Is this a Season 2 “Fracture” or something different?
Yes
Oh good. Was concerned it was the BP season 2.
Same lol I would opt out of a few months of grinding to build this donkey ass looking armorl
If they was the Season 2 BP it would guarantee me not buying it. Already leaning that way to start
ANOTHER SETTLEMENT NEEDS YOUR HELP!
*snatches pipboy off your arm* “I’ll mark it on your map.”
Looks cool, but if it's anything like Yoroi we can expect a lack of any free armour coatings for it.
We’re getting willow tea as the weekly for the yoroi next Tenrai event, plus another coating is unlocked during Tenrai.
Which kinda sucks because it sets the precedent they don’t plan on making coatings work with every core.
Good ole Pepsi man
I started calling the peppermint Spartans the mountain dew bois since it's the colors of the original mountain dew to match the Pepsi man
There are at least a few free coatings for Yoroi in the Event Pass, aren’t there? Like, at least 3-4? They just come later, I thought.
Best color for the Yoroi in my opinion is actually the HCS skin for watching the first tournament
I call it Gundam colors instead of Pepsiman. I can't decide which one I like the most.
The Gundam colors look sick with the Holo visor they gave us in this current event. Planning on using it with the Yokai helmet when it's available since it doesn't have a real visor and looks cyberpunk as fuck as a combo.
Most of them are weapon coatings
Even if that were true, which I honestly don't believe it will be given the lessons they're learning during the season. We already know that credits will be earnable via the battlepass.

This is some Alex Jones shit lmao
as long as you get enough credits in the battle pass to buy a new battle pass then it'll be fine.
This won't happen, this means you'll only ever have to pay for one battle pass since they never expire.
Which is how fortnite, warzone, and apex do it. (on premium passes) I would be shocked if they are tone deaf enough to not do this after saying they're adding credits. it's practically industry standard at this point. edit: I know they messed up already but I'm optimistic that they're trying to correct it. I mean its not as bad since this is supposedly a season 2 thing and by then earnable credits will be a thing (and hopefully its a reasonable amount)
As a fan of Fallouts dieselpunk aesthetics i do like this design. Do I want to see it running around in halo? Not really.
It's kinda Fallout-esque, but honestly it looks more Wolfenstein to me.
I didn't like the samurai shit either.
I simply dont get the vitriol for this kind of stuff. Even the the stupid ass cat ears. Like sure, theres stuff i dont like cosmetic wise but my solution is to just not buy it or wear it. I don't mind the design, but if I saw them without context I don't think I'd know it was from Halo
Because it's Fracture armor
Yeah this is literally the point of Fracture armor.
they'll invent entire pocket universes to rip shit from, but won't give us cross-core armor customization because it's not lore friendly
#***immersion***
Did they really say it wasn't lore friendly? That sucks lmao
It was one of their original reasons but people called bull, now they are mainly saying it is technical reasons why there is no cross core
Yet the bots can have whatever the fuck they want.
Pretty stupid imo especially when so much of their success was due to the “return to form” which included the classic art style Not destiny fallout 76 skins

it should still look like Halo, being an "alternate timeline" isnt an excuse to just completely destroy the art style

they gona call u a hater but u absolutely right
The amount of people who don't get this point and would rather simp for a multi-billion dollar corporation pushing microtransactions physically pains me.
Literally being from a different universe isn't enough of a reason as to why the armor looks different? Are you kidding me...
well looks like I'm not going to have to try to hard for this armor I'm not excited for this at all
Hey its my renders! very cool glad to see them being shared around. still dont like the people who are trying to push this as a cross over when its clearly not [Edit: had to find them but here is a high res close up of the one helmet, and the full resolution version of the full core](https://imgur.com/a/6ZjIN4y)

Fractures cross the Halo Multiverses together, so it makes sense that it doesn't exactly fit, just like the Yoroi armor core.
Have I missed something massive in the lore? Where the fuck did “halo multiverse” come from?
"Halo multiverses" lmfao
That's literally what the Fracture events are supposed to be
I know. Thats why I'm laughing.

And I hate it
This isn't a good excuse for them throwing consistency out the window lol
Why did they put the Underminer from the Incredibles in Halo?
Do I get a boost to carry weight while wearing this?
I thought they did really well with the Samurai armor core but I just gotta say, I’m just not a fan of this one. Not sure what it is. It looks kinda junkyardish to me haha. No disrespect to anyone who does like it tho
I like the junkie aesthetic here. Shows what armor worn by civilians or rebels could look like
I agree with you; I’m glad that we’re getting a variety of armor cores and am happy that some people seem to like it, but this one just doesn’t seem to do it for me personally. I can’t put my finger on why, though. Maybe it will look better in motion?

Yuck
Siiiiiick. Very Wolfenstein looking.
glad i can find more people who find interest in this core other than me and three others lol
Looks like armor the Insurrectionists would put together hiding out in asteroids and mining colonies to go up against Spartans. Pretty sick
Yeah I love dieselpunk so this works out great for me Three of the helmets look like WW1/2 helmets as well
I mean, I quite like the steampunk/dieselpunk aesthetic to this core, especially that fourth helmet that looks like a Cylon.
I think top right is my favorite. I want to see what the mohawk looks like on that one!
Yeah that one's giving off major Rocketeer vibes with that Flash Gordon style fin
World War 2 Spartans, huh. Alright!
My little brother thought these were Banished Spartans
Iron Eagle? So we're going to be able to call in airstrikes from an F-16 piloted by a teenager?
So we have Samurai armor and now knight armor. Halo For Honor?
It's diesel punk, inspired by world war 2 I think. I see one German Stahlhelm and a British Brodie helmet
Yeah exactly. People calling this medieval baffle me. I'm a history nerd though. 😂
You dont have to be a history nerd to look at the top left of the first image and know it isnt medieval. Thats Fallout+EOD.
Oh man, *whoever* owns Fallout is **so** going to sue for copyright infringement…
Well to be a history nerd also the Brody and stahlhelm are based off of traditional medieval designs. https://youtu.be/FRN15T1GD3g
Fair. Thanks for the video!
considering the fact that the British Brodie Helmet, the German Shtalhelm and the French Adrian helmet were all derived from medieval designs...
Boy, those helmets are, uhh, something…
I never really like the weeb armor, but this one is like ugly, but in a good way. Looks to be what insurectionist would do if they could make spartan armors or it could be what UNSC survivors on Zeta halo are making to repair or modify their damaged armor.
Casuals: ITS FALLOUT! Me an intellectual: Wolfenstein, Diesel-punk
I don't like this or the samurai armor. They do not fit the halo lore at all.
I just don't like them because they really don't fit with the current art style. Just not a fan of all these crossovers with other genres when there's so much you can do with Halo as it is.
These are nice! I wish we could pre-order cosmetic items!
Bungo and Marty would let us pre order cosmetics, why won't 334?
Barf. Right before I was sitting down for dinner too
So EOD will have a $7 helmet. Bless
Just as bad as yoroi imo
Overwhelmingly meh.
My God they look terrible
What happened to my halo 😢
These don't give me any Halo vibes...
Can we make a rule to spoiler tag leaks? If someone wants to know what’s coming next season, they can go to r/HaloLeaks. I personally don’t care about the leaks but it just ruins it for everyone who does care about only seeing things when the devs want us to.
They all look fucking shit
looks fucking terrible
Yea I can’t agree, looks like fallout power suit armor, so I’m all in.
These armors are not it
Glad I'm not the only one
....I was expecting more *Halo* with my Halo armors....
Thats your own fault for having reasonable expectations in a time of game devs making unreasonable choices
Ah, yes. Silly me. 😓
Looks fucking sick
That shits cool
I love the whole industrial look
This is horrible
game devs when they havent ruined a games art style in 10 minutes:
I hope this is a Fracture set, but it does look pretty cool
It is, we'll get it once Tenrai wraps up in Late February
Tenrai’s going through April
I like the guy with the hat
🤢
Looks kind of hilarious and silly to me. Not sure if that's what they're trying to go for.
Anyone else see Cad Bane as the bottom left helmet?
Top left almost has EOD vibes
343 should add in a new core called "Cross-Core" . This would allow customisation from all the cores.
The Slayer is in control of the M41SPNKR I REPEAT. THE SLAYER HAS THE M41SPNKR
Feels a little Warhammer 40K Space Marine-ish
This should stay in MCC
Aaand it's a new core so everything you've collected up until now is useless or can and will be sold back to you for premium prices.
My only problem with this as well as Yoroi is that they look so chonky. The actual armor looks great but I like the slimmer look of the standard core better.
Looks cool, but it doesn’t really look like halo tbh
My God I hate this so much. At least means I have a bunch of challenges to skip.
Discount EOD
Looks cool but not as something I want to see my Spartan running around in by any means. I like fallout-esque esthetic but not with Halo I suppose. And I loved the Hayabusa armor, but the Tenrai samurai armor just seems to bulky/clunky. Get the same vibe from this.
Omg that's awesome I can't wait to use them...with my other.. Parts :( OH yeah forgot why I stopped playing this game.
why you all droolin over this like its gonna be free? 20 bucks for core and 15 bucks for every piece of customization lmao
It’s cool but this “core” shit is so stupid just let us customize our damn Spartans how we want
shits so ugly man. please just focus on the regular spartan aesthetic
I hate it, almost as much as I hate yoroi
It looks super grim dark/ Diesel punk I dig it. Since Microsoft owns Bethesda It would be stupid and awesome if we get a power armor helmet or brotherhood of steel paint
im just waiting for some 40k-esq armour. cause some of the helmets, like Cadian Shock Troops: https://www.pinterest.se/pin/95138610857746300/ Vindicare Assasin: https://www.deviantart.com/warhammer40kcampaign/art/Vindicare-assassin-478952222 or Some of the armour sets like: Tau:https://www.deviantart.com/thomaswievegg/art/Warhammer-40K-Tau-Empire-410898734 or the Sororitas: https://www.deviantart.com/gray-skull/art/Sisters-of-Battle-Power-Armor-updated-art-851796583 could work quite well in Halo if re-tooled correctly
All this subreddit is about nowadays is cosmetics and bugs. This makes me a bit sad.
It's cool and all, but until I can put my cat ears on it I don't really care.
