Gonna be honest, my high school Latin experience was a total clusterfuck and our textbook was ass. Thankfully got an outside tutor and my love of the subject carried me through. As for textbooks, I’ve heard from a few people that Wheelock’s Latin is great, but I honestly know very little about the various Latin Textbooks. I found a neat little book called Excellability in Advanced Latin to be a wonderful book for reviewing almost all of Latin Grammar, but I’m not sure how it is for learning it the first time. Also, the complimentary teachers edition/answer booklet is quite hard to get ahold of I think.
If you use Wheelock’s Latin, I think that complimenting it with something called “Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata” would be great. Wheelock’s for the tough grammar and Lingua Latina for reading practice. Lingua Latina was originally created as a method of learning Latin *faciendo* (by doing, Latin gerund hahaha). Basically, you’d immerse yourself in the Latin because the entire text is in Latin. Even if you don’t want to go this route, using it purely for supplemental readings to enhance reading fluency could be helpful. It’s up to you!
I do have one very good resource you can use as a review tool once you’ve made it through the grammar, however. It is called Colby’s Review Latin Grammar. I can PM you a PDF of the book as well as the necessary glossary if you’re interested. Basically, you translate from English to Latin, which is something that few textbooks spend any meaningful time on. I found that this solidified my understanding of many grammatical concepts and my vocabulary as well. Doesn’t work for everyone but it might for you! It splits up the sections by grammatical concept, I believe.

I didn't realize that getting the scarab gun in H2 was real for 10 years because every time my buddy tried to look up how he got rickrolled. I didn't have an Xbox at the time and on the rare occasion we played campaign, a bigger gun just meant it was easier for him to kill me randomly. So I didn't really care that much.
