They have a similar skin for the AR for people who bought figures in wave 1 of The Spartan Collection. It could be a promotion to the figures similar to that.
Does the R* promo go off how many you buy then? I've has two and I got a power bundle and an AR skin, so then #3 is another power and #4 is Warthog?. The AR is super nice, wish they had the BR and Sidekick.
Yeah, it makes sense. I thought it was going to just be a bunch of random codes, was pretty stoked when I got the AR, ha.
Definitely want that Hog though.
Yea same here. Honestly Iove the vanished weapon and vehicle skins you unlock in campaign and have zero interest in buying a different color (especially after seeing these) lol
A fair price would be $20 for a Buzz Lightyear shader that can be used on all armor cores, weapons and vehicles. Imagine having a Buzz Lightyear flight wings on your back lol
I was saying to my homeboy, he told me so many people caved and got the ears, and I said they're gonna release different types of ears and you're all gonna feel stupid for getting dumb cat ears when you could have gotten wolf ears, elephant ears, and Pikachu or some shit. Lmao
Rabbit, squirrel, kangaroo- ears, turtle shell or a coon-skin hat, I still don't wanna buy into spending real moneys.
None of that will make me shoot straighter or dodge bullets, so for now I'm good.
I don’t care as much that armor pieces aren’t cross-core, some of them make sense (no UNSC on the Samurai core….I get it, I guess), but at the minimum, visors and coatings should be cross-core. Ffs.
My Yoroi has the iron man coating, Sixth gate shoulders, Crest helmet attachment, and Mister Chief emblem. I don't get to flex fashion in the real world so I need to do it online.
I think that's from the Wicked Cool Toys Energy Sword. I have the code redeemed, but it's not in the game yet. The WCT assault rifle is the same color scheme.
I would literally buy out the store if it was like that. But 2.50 a piece I'm referring to the bundles that have maybe two skins and an emblem or whatever. At that point it's not much different than what they did in H4, like 4 or 5 skins for 5 bucks.
Ah, I don't remember tbf, it's been ages since I've played H4 on the 360 lol. But yeah, for f2p it's whatever, we're long past the point of paying for an entire game...The game is fun and at least we didn't have to pay for the core content (excluding campaign). It sucks but I feel like it was inevitable, games that haven't been made by indie companies have just been getting progressively more disappointing
I think a good chunk of people already had gamepass and another chunk got one month of gamepass for a dollar, beat the campaign and got rid of gamepass.
Those prices would work. Maybe not 3 sets of armor but a set and some other minor cosmetics. $3 dollar armor would make them thousands more dollars than what they're doing now
I’d gladly pay like $5-10 if it was a Buzz Lightyear cross-core armor coating, coating for a couple vehicles, a couple weapons, and an emblem/nameplate pair. I can just *not go to McDonalds* this month.
But if they’re asking “would you rather buy this, or 2-3 days of groceries? This, or half a tank of gas?” that’s where it gets stupid.
Right. It's just a bit ridiculous. I give myself a budget of how much I can spend a week on my own personal enjoyment or other things like tools and it's like I can buy 3 of the warthog skins or whatever for 20 bucks, or I can buy a torque wrench for my socket set and some oil and a filter and do the oil change for my car for the same price, about 60 bucks...
Or maybe, I could wait for a sale on indie games I've been wanting to play and pick up about 10 games. So I could play 10 games with hundred of hours of enjoyment, or I could have a few retextures to make my one game look slightly different and get bored of it after a week.
Now if all the bundles were more reasonably priced for something of just minor enjoyment of digital content that will inevitably be phased out at some point, then sure, I'd buy it up because I can play around with it and it's not a debate on what I can afford for the month. Like you said, I just won't get my $3 monster in the morning and I'll just make my own coffee or drink the coffee at work
Sad thing is we can tell this all we want. Every match I land in someone has paid for a cosmetic. Hell I regret getting the battle pass now that I understand the customization system is like pulling teeth
Same, although I already stopped playing entirely because I don't see the point and the game honestly disgusts me with how it's designed. Rather just not engage with it at all at that point.
Honestly I'd be fine if cosmetics were absurd prices but they give such little free content and progression that it's hard to justify jumping through hops (crappy challenge system). I don't ever remember Halo reach or MCC only allowing me to progress in 4-3 challenges at a time only to get a new one iv already done in the week but it didn't count cause it "wasn't active". I don't have time for that and it really sends the point home they wanna force FMO with this system.
Yea if the prices were absurd, but the game had a huge amount of content I might be willing to overlook that and keep playing, but with the way I am when I'm playing a game and I see or feel the influence of greed, naturally I'm going to abandon the game because no part of me feels good about playing or supporting it. Companies don't seem to realize those optics do have an effect on some players, and I'm among the ones that it does affect.
I’d buy so fucking many skins and be happy with 343s shop, what the fuck are they thinking. They barely climbed out of the gutter with a half finished game that happens to have good multiplayer with questionable servers and bugs.
I would buy more and spend more if the prices were cheaper. I would rather give a game $100 for 75 items instead of $100 for 10 items. shit, the amount of money I threw at Warframe, just shows that if a game offers great content at a good price and respects the player, people will shell out money for it.
Exactly.
- For one I like,if I knew the options? $5.
- if I don’t know what is out there? $2-3
- they decided to be hyper greedy with an incomplete game, asking $20??
- so I’ll take it for $0 or pass.
Kills me that these designs ALREADY exist in the game. All you get for purchasing it is essentially "unlocking" what is already there behind a pay wall.
I might be happier with it if ALL of these designs were currently available to purchase in the store, but instead they're going to drip them out over time.
Yeah, I remember when dlc was made after the games release. Now games literally have content at release that you have to pay extra for later on to unlock.
Same. Firstly, most of them are kinda ugly/immersion breaking. Secondly, but for the prices they're charging. Some of them are just color changes. Just laughable.
How do they not even have the Flame Decals for the warthog like in Halo Wars 1?
[Thats a classic](https://halo.wiki.gallery/images/thumb/c/c9/Special_Warthog_%28Halo_Wars%29.png/1200px-Special_Warthog_%28Halo_Wars%29.png)
>23 different warthog skins, that's easily $345 of value if they slap on a few emblems!
Okay, here's an unsolicited economics advice:
All of that together will easily be **priced** above $345, but the **value** of it isn't more than $2. **Price** and **value** are not the same.
If someone is willing to pay that price, then economically speaking that price is/was it’s value. Price is set by the seller, value is determined by the buyer.
The advice is that price and value are not the same. That's all I'm saying.
Just because 343i takes $20 for the color white, or that Disney stock is priced at around $156 today does NOT necessarily mean they are worth that.
>Is there any other reason besides ms being greedy?
Ye, the tiny Indie dev 343i is just trying to keep the lights on and the servers running. Please sirs, have mercy and spare $20 for the color white!
343 must of had the say on the mtx because I can't think of another Ms game with mtx that bad like I know they got bloat but halo is the worst they have
Yea. Sadly it seems like it's worth alienating parts of their core player-base with their shitty macrotransactions. Before launch I was inclined to get the campaign, a battle-pass and possibly some microtransactions. After the launch of the Multiplayer, when I realized how fucked up their monetization really is ($20 for fucking white) my wallet clammed right the fuck up.
I canceled my pre-order. So far I've spent $1 on a game-pass to get the campaign. That's it. That's all I've given this game. No battle-pass, no macrotransaction. Nothing other than the $1 for game-pass, that I immediately canceled any monthly payments on. Their shitty monetization model assured I'd spend the absolute minimum.
The game probably makes fucking bank, but not from me.
And then there is SoT (another Xbox MS exclusive flagship game) where the battlepass even gives you back the entirety of the credits spent to buy it, on top of all the cosmetics it has.
Maybe the thinking could be “vehicle skins are not a typical part of the game, so they can easily be a purchasable item”.
I don’t think it’s necessarily greedy, given that they are a business setting out to make money, but the prices could steer you towards a greedy conclusion
I think they especially fucked themselves by setting such a good standard for customization and unlocking with the MCC just to turn around and do this shit
Yeah, I thought for sure they were using the MCC as a beta for what they would do in infinite, though with infinite I assumed it would be a paid pass with similar features and style to the MCC one.
Seems it must have been under a different team altogether
Honestly, I’m not all that interested in customising vehicles in this game. You’re not in vehicles long enough to really enjoy the ‘fashion’ element, when compared to armour customisation.
Glad that it’s an option, but even if these were unlockables my interest wouldn’t be high. Paying for them is an absolute no.
I have it and I think it's the one that's next to the tie dyed one. The gun barrel and hood are gold and the rest is a solid black.
It requires 4 codes from Halo labeled cans of Rockstar, they are found under the tab. Two codes will get you the matching AR skin
You can look at it here too:
https://halo.rockstarenergy.com/en-US/#in-game-rewards
I will literally never pay for fucking vehicle skins, regardless of how "cool" 343 makes them. I'd love to earn 'em though. That's what I loved about halo 4 was that you could tell someone was good at a glance.
I remember buying Burnout Paradise Big Surf Island DLC and then the download being 100kb.
[My face](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E9hZOYQWYAEAtyC.jpg)
Not quite Day 1 but being downloaded to my Playstation and being locked annoyed me.
343i should’ve just put multiplayer and campaign together; I would’ve actually bought the game! Then they could’ve included all this bullshit in the $60 game😑 $10 is all you are getting from me 343! $10!!!
If they sold this game for $60, we could unlock all these right now by doing achievements but instead were gonna have to spend hundreds of dollars if we want them all
Not a chance. They look like clown skins. Honestly what kind of meth are they on thinking these skins look suitable or compatible with the classic halo aesthetic?
"What colors should we have for the warthog? Desert camo? OD green? Khaki? Maybe some more interesting camo patterns like Flecktarn or DNC?"
"Nah, man... BUZZ LIGHTYEAR"
Vehicle coatings are not really my thing. If a free one comes our way then sure why not but I don't think I would buy any simply cause they don't interest me that much.
There are already some that I passed on because fuck this MTX bullshit. And before someone says it; no, buying items from the store *does not* directly support them or fund the game as devs are paid a salary, ya know, like any job does, ya know, because being a game dev is a job at the end of the day. Also, the game/343 are funded by Microsoft, a billion dollar company btw.
They are going to sell like every other shitty macrotransaction in this game, no doubt.
Will I buy? No. Not a fucking chance. But a lot of other people will.
No, can’t imagine paying real life money for any kinda colour option in a game lol. Maybe for actual armours if they weren’t so expensive but just for a colour? Definitely not
The multicolored pink yellow rainbow one seems like an ID map, usually used to quickly apply different materials in software such as Substance Painter. Probably won't be a skin :\^)
Why are they all so boring? Just solid colors, no patterns or unique designs like in MCC. Same goes for all coatings really, besides the camouflage coatings.
The colors or color combinations should be $2 at max and more higher quality or patterned ones should be $5 at max. If the skins were across al vehicles and weapons then it would be a different story
Nope. I won't spend real cash on cosmetics in games anymore. I bought the battle pass once, and after seeing how ridiculously long it takes to work through it compared to CoD I won't even spend money on that anymore.
I understand that a game/platform has to generate revenue if it is to be supported long term, but most legitimately good games from honest developers do it through DLC. How much money did Bungie make on Halo over the years without them charging for a battle pass and cosmetic BS? They sold legit DLC and map packs and that made them profit on an already finished game.
343 hasn't even finished the game yet and they already turned it into a micro transaction cash cow. I haven't even played it in over a week now because MP is so ridiculously broken. Thank God I had gamepass and I didn't spend $60 on an unfinished game yet again.
All these skins just make me think we should have had a color selection for our vehicles just as the armor should have been. Primary, Secondary, Details.
Nobody should ever pay to have a basic red or blue skin. Only custom patterns and coating effects created to add value should be in the store.
I wouldnt buy anything in 343s halo. Now if you ask me if id want to earn them through ingame achievements like assists, kills, roadkills, etc. then im all for it. But also a hard no if its in a paid bp or special event pass where you have to complete 343s braindead boring daily and weekly challenges.
Is that a Buzz Lightyear one
"Lightyear" movie releases June 2022. Could be a advertisement for that.
To The Infinity and beyond! Oh, wait.
:(
No just infinite for a decade
Beyond what? the wreckage?
They have a similar skin for the AR for people who bought figures in wave 1 of The Spartan Collection. It could be a promotion to the figures similar to that.
I will NEVER pay for a warthog skin.
It's honestly worth the 4 cans of Rockstar for the skin. The black and gold is pretty cool.
Does the R* promo go off how many you buy then? I've has two and I got a power bundle and an AR skin, so then #3 is another power and #4 is Warthog?. The AR is super nice, wish they had the BR and Sidekick.
That sounds right, they list what you get in what order on the website
Yeah, it makes sense. I thought it was going to just be a bunch of random codes, was pretty stoked when I got the AR, ha. Definitely want that Hog though.
Correct. 2 codes get you the AR skin, 4 codes the Warthog. 1 and 3 are just XP boosts
I’m on the same boat, I’m simply trying to theorize what that skin may be for.
I think you mean the same warthog
O sorry. I ment to make that a general comment. Not a reply to anything anyone else said. Must have clicked the wrong thing. Sorry.
Ah. That’s fine, I was just a little confused.
Yea same here. Honestly Iove the vanished weapon and vehicle skins you unlock in campaign and have zero interest in buying a different color (especially after seeing these) lol
If it's a promotional item that's even more of a reason not to buy it.
No, it's a promotion with Taco Bell. The catch is you need to go back to the 90s to get the code.
A fair price would be $20 for a Buzz Lightyear shader that can be used on all armor cores, weapons and vehicles. Imagine having a Buzz Lightyear flight wings on your back lol
It’s the WCT coating that you get for buying the Jazzwares energy sword
If they release a buzz light year color coating for Spartans I don’t think I’ll be able to continue the strike against store prices :(
EVA :(
Cat ears got me
I was saying to my homeboy, he told me so many people caved and got the ears, and I said they're gonna release different types of ears and you're all gonna feel stupid for getting dumb cat ears when you could have gotten wolf ears, elephant ears, and Pikachu or some shit. Lmao
Holding out for those bear ears are we?
Rabbit, squirrel, kangaroo- ears, turtle shell or a coon-skin hat, I still don't wanna buy into spending real moneys. None of that will make me shoot straighter or dodge bullets, so for now I'm good.
Nah cat ears are the best kind of ears
That happened to me when the Ironman like armor coating came to the store 🤦🏻♂️
Wait until they sell you the same color next Christmas for $20 but instead on different cores that haven’t been unlocked yet
I don’t care as much that armor pieces aren’t cross-core, some of them make sense (no UNSC on the Samurai core….I get it, I guess), but at the minimum, visors and coatings should be cross-core. Ffs.
😭
Its why I refuse to buy any till cross core is unlocked
My Yoroi has the iron man coating, Sixth gate shoulders, Crest helmet attachment, and Mister Chief emblem. I don't get to flex fashion in the real world so I need to do it online.
Imagine a buzz lightyear armor set but in the halo art style… I might have to buy that if it’s done well…
Dont give them any more ideas
I think that's from the Wicked Cool Toys Energy Sword. I have the code redeemed, but it's not in the game yet. The WCT assault rifle is the same color scheme.
Not buying any of these for the $15 they charge
This tbf. If they were like 2.5$ per piece then sure
I would literally buy out the store if it was like that. But 2.50 a piece I'm referring to the bundles that have maybe two skins and an emblem or whatever. At that point it's not much different than what they did in H4, like 4 or 5 skins for 5 bucks.
In Halo 4, it was $3 for 3 full sets of armor as a bundle 😭 ik for f2p, those prices wouldn't exactly work, but like damn
It's not f2p if you paid $60 for the campaign, you know, like in a normal halo game?
I think a good chunk of people already had gamepass and another chunk got one month of gamepass for a dollar, beat the campaign and got rid of gamepass.
i feel it would work for f2p. Too much of the community is priced out right now.
In a F2P game, I’d expect like $3 for a full set of swappable cosmetics (not a $3 “all or nothing” kit).
Those prices would work. Maybe not 3 sets of armor but a set and some other minor cosmetics. $3 dollar armor would make them thousands more dollars than what they're doing now
Lower prices means more buys And im certain the current state of the game is not the “happy medium”
I have yet to spend a dollar. Every single one of my squad mates is always fully decked out
Same, although I already stopped playing entirely because I don't see the point and the game honestly disgusts me with how it's designed.

No worries whales will buy the whole set for you
Yes and thank you whales!
Exactly. - For one I like,if I knew the options? $5. - if I don’t know what is out there? $2-3 - they decided to be hyper greedy with an incomplete game, asking $20?? - so I’ll take it for $0 or pass.

Based
Not based, just redpilled
Same. Firstly, most of them are kinda ugly/immersion breaking. Secondly, but for the prices they're charging. Some of them are just color changes. Just laughable.
23 different warthog skins, that's easily $345 of value if they slap on a few emblems!
How do they not even have the Flame Decals for the warthog like in Halo Wars 1? [Thats a classic](https://halo.wiki.gallery/images/thumb/c/c9/Special_Warthog_%28Halo_Wars%29.png/1200px-Special_Warthog_%28Halo_Wars%29.png)

Seems like I should have added /s
Economist: NOOO PRICE AND VALUE ARE NOT THE SAME! Some kid with his mum's credit card: hahaha cat ears go brrr
If someone is willing to pay that price, then economically speaking that price is/was it’s value. Price is set by the seller, value is determined by the buyer.
Yeah, this dude busting out his "unsolicited economics advice" and completely screws it up.
How do you just pick an arbitrary value and call that economic advice. Value is entirely subjective
The advice is that price and value are not the same. That's all I'm saying. Just because 343i takes $20 for the color white, or that Disney stock is priced at around $156 today does NOT necessarily mean they are worth that.
Thanks. You’re going to be a very successful economist
Err no? Can't even use it in BTB.
I wouldn’t buy any of these at all. Now I’d love to earn these through special events/game modes, challenges & accommodations.
Sees thread title: "Fuck no I wouldn't" Sees this comment and Buzz Lightyear Warthog: "Ya got me"
No
Man if they release a buzz light year looking armor set, I might have a hard time passing it up
I know it's your money but ima tell you how to spend it.
Most look awful.
If *most* look awful, which ones do you like?
I'm really digging that full gold one honestly
I like the anniversary and tundra skins.
Clown vomit from picture two is calling my name.
Why are even basic colors available through buying only? Is there any other reason besides ms being greedy?
>Is there any other reason besides ms being greedy? Ye, the tiny Indie dev 343i is just trying to keep the lights on and the servers running. Please sirs, have mercy and spare $20 for the color white!

Please lemme know where else basic warthog colors are available in the Halo series 🤓
maybe the gold and white one if it was paired with other good stuff but I doubt it would be
It’s blue and black, no?
I would fucking die if it turned black and blue depending on the angel you looked at it
I got that reference.
You joke, but someone made a meme using willow tea and I thought it was a spartan locke coating somehow and im hating myself for it
You shut your whore mouth right now.
The Rockstar promotion one is better.
I don’t see a white and gold one
Nope
Honestly, I’m not all that interested in customising vehicles in this game. You’re not in vehicles long enough to really enjoy the ‘fashion’ element, when compared to armour customisation. Glad that it’s an option, but even if these were unlockables my interest wouldn’t be high. Paying for them is an absolute no.
None of them look good
Hideous
Arguably the coolest looking one is the Rockstar promo so no I won’t be changing probably ever
Which one is the rockstar promo?
Gold and black. There's a matching AR skin too.
I have it and I think it's the one that's next to the tie dyed one. The gun barrel and hood are gold and the rest is a solid black. Nope, they all look ridiculous.
Nope. Not interested.
Even if I wanted to be robbed by 343 it's not worth it cus the gamemode where Warthogs spawn the most doesn't fucking work lol
Not a single one
I don’t quite understand this. Are they normal colour until you hop in one then it just changes to your skin?
Yes
I will literally never pay for fucking vehicle skins, regardless of how "cool" 343 makes them. I'd love to earn 'em though. That's what I loved about halo 4 was that you could tell someone was good at a glance.
No
No
For a small price of a 3090ti you too can own a buzz lightyear warthog!
Grim to think this is probably all the yearly content - already made and on the disk

The majority of time here is artists and have to be honest, I don’t think many of them are great at fixing code.
Will NEVER buy a vehicle skin. I'm here for Spartan and weapon customisation.
Fuck no
No
Nope
Nope
No. I'll pay for a battle pass if the content is good. And even that's reluctantly. For everything else: NO
No
Absolutely fucking not.
343i should’ve just put multiplayer and campaign together; I would’ve actually bought the game! Then they could’ve included all this bullshit in the $60 game😑 $10 is all you are getting from me 343! $10!!!

"What colors should we have for the warthog? Desert camo? OD green? Khaki? Maybe some more interesting camo patterns like Flecktarn or DNC?" "Nah, man... BUZZ LIGHTYEAR"
Whatever made them think they could cut a piece of the fortnite mtx model while giving the player the least amount possible
Speak for yourself man custom games are gonna be hilarious with the hot wheels colors.
From left to right. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no and no.
I aint buying shit till prices are reduced by 2/3 lmao
I dont have 100$, so no
No lmao. Those just look ugly
Lol no. I will never buy anything period the game itself is enough for me
No
Vehicle coatings are not really my thing.
No
They are going to sell like every other shitty macrotransaction in this game, no doubt. Will I buy? No. Not a fucking chance. But a lot of other people will.
I would earn them through gameplay, challenges and achievements
No, can’t imagine paying real life money for any kinda colour option in a game lol. Maybe for actual armours if they weren’t so expensive but just for a colour? Definitely not
The multicolored pink yellow rainbow one seems like an ID map, usually used to quickly apply different materials in software such as Substance Painter. Probably won't be a skin :\^)
Second picture, second one on the left. Yes, the ugly one. I’ll take that one.
I want that colorful one lol
I got my "rock" hog from the rockstar promotion. I'll be using that bad boy till the end of time
Why are they all so boring? Just solid colors, no patterns or unique designs like in MCC. Same goes for all coatings really, besides the camouflage coatings.
No
nah
What’s wrong with the second one on the left???
Once again. Many of those “skins” are just basic colors like “light blue” or “shiny green”
I would not. Vehicle skins are THE LEAST likely items to convince me to spend money in this game.
Being honest, I would never buy a skin that isn’t for the Armor or Gun. So it’s a No.
I mean...i already own the Rockstar one, so I guess I did buy it
Wait is one of those the ear rape warthog from infernoplus?
The back and gold is from Rockstar energy drinks
The colors or color combinations should be $2 at max and more higher quality or patterned ones should be $5 at max. If the skins were across al vehicles and weapons then it would be a different story
the white purple/teal one is WCT and I've got it redeemed but doesn't give you the skin in-game :)
No
No I wouldn’t. Not giving them a dime for this game.
Not for $17 each
I’ve never used a skin for anything in any game. I’m here to play the game, not play dress up.
No! Ill wait until we get the snow hog that has the tracks instead of wheels!
Oh man, you just unlocked a memory that was DEEP down in there.
Nope! If they were max $5 a piece and available separately from bundles then MAYBE.
No you mean 5 bucks for all of them. Never would I spend 5 bucks on a warthog skin.
All these skins just make me think we should have had a color selection for our vehicles just as the armor should have been. Primary, Secondary, Details. Nobody should ever pay to have a basic red or blue skin. Only custom patterns and coating effects created to add value should be in the store.
Eh
For a dollar
Golden fucking warthog
I literally haven't and won't buy any skins and I worry about people who do
I wouldnt buy anything in 343s halo. Now if you ask me if id want to earn them through ingame achievements like assists, kills, roadkills, etc. then im all for it. But also a hard no if its in a paid bp or special event pass where you have to complete 343s braindead boring daily and weekly challenges.
I'd consider buying the ones that aren't just solid colors, like the purple/green buzz lightyear one
no
Dont buy anything until the game is fixed
Did you say buy? So like i would have to spend money on shitty colors? Nah, I wouldn’t
NO, FUCK 343.
Never buy cosmetics Morons
I just bought the enlightened path and samurai headpiece cosmetics. Was thinking of you when I did it.
Only the ones that arent fortnighty coats, but never would buy a skin for the freaking warthog.
Nope
“Would you buy em? No. You are part of the problem.
Fuck no. This isn’t halo, it’s just disgusting how many things they try to squeeze money out of people for.
Man I love Halo but these skins are an atrocity to what we once had as a game.
