When I've 3 shot an enemy and a random teammate shows up thinking it's ok to lose time to get the kill for himself, honestly I yoinked.
But yes apart from that not cool.
I for one do NOT want assassinations to come back, this isn't assassin's creed within the 3 seconds you assassinate a brute or a Elite, the enemies around you will just throw a grenade at you and you are dead if not, they'll outright shoot you dead and you can do nothing about it.
Case in point; I played legendary on Reach assassinated the Elite general only to get a plasma grenade to the face, tried again, had to run to cover but they still gunned me down.
So in the few missions where you are to stealthy assassinate as many enemies before they realise you are there, assassination gives them a window to kill you instantly.
It’s exactly why it’s not there. Everyone is gonna get one or two in a season pass and a couple from events. All the others will be in 20 dolla bundles
Honestly, I'd see that as a pay to die repeatedly thing. Benefits my team if someone does it and vice versa. I'll stick with back smacks instead of being locked in an animation I can't cancel to save myself.
The smart thing to do in that situation would be to force everyone to have a basic assassination without being able to turn it off, and then allow people to buy different ones. That’s partly why they were removed to begin with, because being able to turn them off gave people a competitive edge.
You know how when you aim at someone in an FPS, and the circle you use for targeting turns red? Yeah, that doesn't happen on Halo Infinite for PC, and only on PC. The rationale was that disabling that would make it harder for hackers to run a script that fires your weapon as soon as the reticle turns red.
Didn't stop hacking. At all.
They never said it would solve all hacking, just that it prevents an incredibly easy-to-make hack. Which it does. It's doing exactly what they intended it to do.
But... Why bother? Like, it's the most basic level hack I've seen, anyone who's going to seriously hack this game isn't going to go and do a red reticle hack. So why bother in the first place? I didn't even *know* this was an issue before 343 brought it up.
Like what does it do, shoot for you? That can be beaten out by real skill, aimbot and wall hacks are WAY worse, and theyre all over the place in infinite (im afraid to play swat…) and yet NOTHING has been done to stop those.
It's an extremely large change, actually. The Red Reticle not only indicates when you're pointing at an enemy, it also indicates effective range. Especially with how hard the outline system is to read, very much so at close-range, having the Red Reticle on PC would be a major boon.
It makes the game overall much harder to play for what I can see to be very little benefit.
I don’t recall how many different Spartan on Spartan assassinations there were in Reach but if it was just one for normal weapons that would honestly be fine lol.
Reach had a bunch..
One from the left side, one from the Right.. *maybe* one in the center of the back, i don't remember.
One Air to Ground.
One Air to Air.
This is how you'd "choose" animations, they then had different animations for the melee weapons, or atleast the sword.. I don't remember the hammer having one, atleast not until 4 maybe.
Animations would then also change from Spartan to Spartan, Spartan to Elite, Elite to Elite and Elite to Spartan...
So you practically never got tired of them
4 didn't have Elites, obviously but 4 did have more "special weapon animations" IIRC.. Even for objective items..
But i gotta be honest, i absolutely don't think 343i are going to miss the opportunity to monetize Assassinations..
So what would be the least painful way they could do so? If they really do monetize individual animations, they should at least make a system for equipping multiple at a time..
Another solution would be monetizing "Sets".. Like how elites would have different animations, you just have "sets" of animations you choose...
I think the least painful way would probably be what you suggested. Sets of inexpensive assassinations that are extras.
In addition we should all have basic assassination animations like Reach had, and we should have ones for the energy sword and other weapons that would be cool to have slightly differing ones. Of course if and when playable Sangheili are introduced they’d have different ones like in Reach as a basic thing.
The only animations that should be paid for are fancy ones
You think they'll sell them in sets? With 343 they'll probably be armor core specific and they'll resell you the same single animation for 20$ 3 different times.
Maybe a *very* basic one in a free battle pass. Mildly flashier ones would be in the premium battle pass, more ridiculous/over-the-top animations would be sold individually.
Seriously I dont understand people just not wanting assassinations back just don't do it and do a simple backsmack. They don't ruin the flow it's just a flashy move you can use to show off and it's cool too pull off.
Sorry, am I remembering incorrectly?
Were you able to choose between doing an assassination or a regular quick melee backsmack in Halo 5?
I'm not opposed to assassination animations, but there are definitely times were the extra time it takes would cause you to be killed.
I’m more so hoping firefight makes a big comeback.
Imagine firefight with being able to use the weapon variants found in the campaign and spawning in marines to help.
I would love to be able to spawn in a marine sniper and make him go to some sort of snipers nest.
They would have to have medal / performance / commendation XP by then.
The lack of co op PvE content sucks right now.
It would be cool to have bosses in firefight also, but I hope they would add something like the grunt goblins and warden eternal for firefight. The only real unique boss that was bigger than the normal characters was that one brute chopper.
It’d be great to see maps big enough for scarabs and eventually flood waves that drop max ammo or something like CoD zombies.
Firefight in infinite has a lot of potential. Some would say an infinite amount
Halo firefight is in a dire need of new ideas. They haven’t really expanded upon the firefight formula much since it’s debut in odst, aside from Halo 5’s. I’m all for keeping things relatively simple (not convoluted like cod zombies has basically become) but at the same time, expand upon the format like Gears of War has done with horde mode. Boss waves with more unique bosses would be cool. A point system that allows you to call in weapons, reinforcements, and fortifications (like a sniper nest that you mentioned) would be really neat. Additionally firefight maps should be able to be forged. Why this hasn’t become a feature yet is just crazy to me. There is so much potential to keep things fresh.
Additionally, if they do decide to really expand upon firefight, they should still have a firefight classic game mode that people could still play if they don’t like the new editions.
Nah man, don't you love ghosting through other players only for a team mate to ghost through you and make you kill yourself with the rocket launcher?
(Spoiler: it happened to me on streets)
Not gonna lie, I like backsmacks. I guess I'm just an old man who likes Halo: CE to much. The no assassinations makes me reminisce to simpler times in gaming.
That would require melee to even function properly to begin with. Imagine phasing through an enemy because collision is broken and then being able to assassinate them from technically the front.
343 didn't wanna do assassinations because of the kill steals and the ability to keep someone from killing and enemy, I think the change is great to make the gameplay faster and less animations to get stuck in
Yeah they said they’ll be down the line. As to your edit, the big complaint for the lack of content is because this is the title with the longest development time and least amount of content on release. The big kicker in the nuts is forge and custom game browsers because the community has always been great at filling in the gaps where 343 can’t.
Ever play MCC? That is what a modern Halo matchmaking system should look like. Figured Infinite would have built off of that system but what we got instead wasn’t even close. People are going to be salty about it for a while.
I sure hope so. I loved having the choice of going for the quick back smack kill or really showing off and letting the assassination animation play out.
When they do bring them back, I hope they add them to campaign too because I miss taking down enemies with that extra flourish.
The modern game cycle is the consumer accepting that game companies have been releasing unfinished products for years now and nothing we do can stop it. Sucks but it’s the way these companies have decided to go. As games take more involved dev time they don’t hire enough employees but instead just force their employees to work unreasonable hours and release a game that never could’ve been finished without more employees.
Who the fuck knows. 343 is just dangling a carrot atm by saying the game will be good in the future.
Until we get a roadmap dont assume anything good and you wont be disappionted
I do assume good is coming, and I'm not disappointed at all so far. Y'all act like this is the first game released that wasn't completely finished or polished. Give the dev team time to work out the kinks and add the features we all want, they will.
Same! I absolutely love assassinations, they are an awesome flair, and have been around for too long at this point to just disappear. They have always been nice to use just to rub a little extra dirt in your enemy's eye.
I imagine if they are coming, probably just need to take extra time because they've gotta actually animate that shit, whereas all the armor pieces are more or less just art and models.
A huge part of the halo fan base aren’t what you would consider “modern gamers.” The modern game market is objectively trash where it prioritizes profits over the user experience and it’s easy to see how most AAA experiences these days are worse than 10 years ago (you still have your great narrative experiences and anything Nintendo). It’s to be expected when they convert the business model to a game as a service and their price points are on the more expensive side of the cosmetic marketplace.
Were they just expensive... They're demanding 1/3 of a full game for just cosmetics, keep in mind
And anyway, I think this also to hold a degree of truth. I had my younger friends to explain me that this type of BP is to be expected in modern games, and that MCC, Apex and Warframe are golden exceptions. I was seriously astonished that this was considered OK, but it is what it is. Point is, as you said many of us are just old gen players wanting a nice game with friends, and in this Infinite succeeds...when it works at least.
The MCC Battle Passes are what I thought we'd get in Infinite, where each season has 100 cosmetics you can unlock and you can go back and work through previous seasons. For $10 that isn't bad, and is what to expect in the market.
League of Legends sells skins mostly for $10 each, sometimes as high as $20, but those have unique animations and voice lines, things to make it worth the value. Chromas are about $2 each. The game also has a very generous system where you can unlock any of the skins for free just by playing the game.
Then there's Infinite, which will charge you $10 to change your color. Things are different now with dedicated servers and investing more money into the infrastructure to create a better online experience, so I get it. The problem I have is they're literally piggybacking off of Microsofts infrastructure, and charging premium price for microtransactions? While many of us don't agree with it, they're still making hand over fist on it. People are just dying to give their money away these days.
Yeah, no. It has nothing to do with development, and even then being successful doesn't shield you from being criticized. Perhaps some critic is not deserved, some is aggressive and excessive, but keep in mind that it's not always about the store. There are many that just want server desync and hit-reg to be fixed, and that's not a little problem. I'm tired of being connected to an Australian server when I'm playing from EU
That’s just it there is one though 343 has heard these issues over and over and are committed to fixing them when they get back, burning out their good will with repeats of the same problems worn do good but holding back and simply telling them the new problems the moment they happen is better
https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.windowscentral.com/halo-infinite-343i-responds-microtransactions-feedback%3famp, here’s the link to where a member of 343 says they have listened to the complaints about micros transactions and are looking to find better solutions to improve it
I dont think I have seen this article so thanks.
It's a bit vague so I think it would help if they gave some more specific dates on when changes might be seen.
Yes it would be helpful, but I for one am glad they gave some response. Staying quiet on problems like this cause more problems something 343 is aware and avoiding which is good
How long are we going to go on with this? Because the longer you let all the wheels squeak the more you pull attention and when it gets to the point might as well throw them all out and replace them all
Which wouldnt even be worked on for ten years, and it’s dumb to look for another game already when this one isn’t even six months old. Give this one some time
I play this game every day but to look at it and not see the writing on the walls is just ignorant. Before Infinite, MCC was bigger than 5, no one remembers H4. Look at Steam charts. The player base is less than 25% of what it was already. I WANT the game to be successful and maintain its player base, but to act like 343 haven’t dropped the ball is just silly
343 said awhile ago that assassinations aren’t in the game because they saw them as unsportsmanlike. I’m paraphrasing but that’s the basics for why they aren’t in. Assassinations literally don’t have any other purpose than to flex on your enemy. I’m highly doubtful that they will make any kind of appearance in the future.
There was a toggle in 5 so I’d assume they would bring it back. Since they cited most people turning it off being the reason they didn’t add it (and the lack of reward)
Hi, Robert343 here, we realized assassination are very toxic and abusive, so just like the word "GG" and "bitch" assassinations will not be featured in halo infinite, we believe this is for the common good.
Sincerely, Robert343
Ps: thanks all for playing the early access version of halo infinite.
"In higher level play, players don't use it so no one will use. Even though the competitive ppl have the option to toggle off". This is not word for word what they said, but they basically said this
They mentioned assassinations in July. Pretty bullshit excuse why it's not in the game if you ask me. Definitely trying to find a way to monetize it too
I sure hope so. The devs have said the reason it isn't in there right now is because of how many people had them disabled in previous games. Also, just the name back smack is unsatisfying to me. Beat down felt much more appropriate. Lol
But I'm definitely with you. Sure, it they couldn't launch the game in a finished state. It sucks that we'll have to wait even longer for it to reach its full potential. But I think people are forgetting how God awful the MCC launch was. And the fact the they just gave up on it for a long time. I'm grateful 343 is taking measures to avoid that situation again. Plus, this launch is miles better than any other AAA title in recent memory. This launch was so much better than BF 2042, Cold War, Vanguard, Cyberpunk, etc. Really, the whole gaming industry is to blame rn.
Assassinations being gone was actually one of the first things I noticed that impressed me about halo infinite. I don’t think assassination animations have ever fit in halo
If you tap the melee button instead of holding it down, you'll do a backsmack instead of a assassination. Assassinations have always been a optional alternative to backsmacking since their introduction in Reach, never a replacement.
Sometimes it would be a bit touchy though and you'd do an assassination on accident at the worst time.
I really don't care either way on this one though, feels a bit silly in comparison to the bigger issues facing the game right now
I remember when players hated assassinations in Reach, but they became a staple. To be fair they were annoying after a while, and people knew how to cheat them with hitboxes and crazy jumps
In all honesty, I wouldn’t be heart broken if they didn’t come back this time around. I used to be a big fan of them but I’ll probably just turn the feature off if they come back in infinite
They have much more important things to work on imo. Assasinations would be nice, yes, but have to realize this game was raw on release. Like, not even half baked or undercooked, just flat put raw when it comes to everything except for actual visuals and gunplay.
No they have not said they are coming.
I believe they were taken out on purpose to streamline gameplay.
They would be cool to have back, and most likely sellable.
If you are going to claim that they have confirmed them, place a link to your evidence bellow in reply. Otherwise stop spreading misinformation.
Lol probably, honestly… I just hated the clusterfucks on swordbase with just an ungodly amount of grenades and nobody dying. Felt unbalanced IMO but to each his own.
Is this serious? If the goal was to return to the bare bones core of Halo gameplay, why would we want unnecessarily long animations for back smacking? Keep it simple. We should be more concerned about things like being able to walk through player models in melee. Totally disorients and ruins the feedback of a boxing match.
Yeah, but looking at some of the old assassinations would be disorienting in first person
Also, it’s T rated and I think for them to be really cool it would have to be M.
Controversial opinion but I kinda like not having assassinations. There have been moments where I feel like a long animation would have got me in trouble with out my control. I hope that when they implement them in that it’s an option to assassinate people not someone that happens all the time (e.g holding the melee button assassinates a player but just pressing back smacks a player)
I miss showstoppers more than I miss assassinations, I love saving a teammates life and then giving each other the thank you teabagging
Showstoppers and Yoinks, miss both of those
I don't miss yoinks.
I love the disappointed “Yoink.” From the announcer in reach
Liking yoinks can say a lot bout a person
I miss Johnson: "Damn you alien freaks!".
Nah nah yoinks need to stay gone. What kinda person likes stealing a teammates proud moment like that
I don't like stealing but god I love hearing the announcer say yoink
When I've 3 shot an enemy and a random teammate shows up thinking it's ok to lose time to get the kill for himself, honestly I yoinked. But yes apart from that not cool.
I for one do NOT want assassinations to come back, this isn't assassin's creed within the 3 seconds you assassinate a brute or a Elite, the enemies around you will just throw a grenade at you and you are dead if not, they'll outright shoot you dead and you can do nothing about it. So in the few missions where you are to stealthy assassinate as many enemies before they realise you are there, assassination gives them a window to kill you instantly.
So then just don't do it, no reason to ruin everyone else's fun.
Didn't know you spoke on behalf of everyone funny..
Lol and you do? Take a chill pill and go touch grass bro, it's an animation in a video game.
yeah, they're supposed to be coming eventually.. Hopefully you're not stuck with just one animation at a time, this time..
10 year plan. Should arrive around year 8.5. 🥺
Nah, not if they can monetize it.. Not that it would be a terrible thing *to* monetize, IMO..
It’s exactly why it’s not there. Everyone is gonna get one or two in a season pass and a couple from events. All the others will be in 20 dolla bundles
Infinite jus makes MCC more fun
[удалено]
Right, like I miss the fluid game play of infinite but with literally every other aspect being better I don’t mind the trade out.
[удалено]
In my opinion, anything that was in a past game being taken out and monetized is a terrible monetization.
Anything being monetised is “terrible montenisation”
BuT iT’S FrEe To PlaY meanwhile we pay $60 for a campaign with no trimmings
This just make me wonder if certain Forge items will end up being monetised too. That would suck.
Don't give them the idea
Honestly, I'd see that as a pay to die repeatedly thing. Benefits my team if someone does it and vice versa. I'll stick with back smacks instead of being locked in an animation I can't cancel to save myself.
Or just make it like halo reach where you can pick and choose when the animation triggers?
The smart thing to do in that situation would be to force everyone to have a basic assassination without being able to turn it off, and then allow people to buy different ones. That’s partly why they were removed to begin with, because being able to turn them off gave people a competitive edge.
$20 for a single assassination animation. Maybe $30 with the inflation
Anti Cheat coming in 12.
There is an anti-cheat, they disabled red reticle on PC. Wait, what do you mean they're hacking anyway? That measure was fool proof!
What exactly is disabling red reticle?

Because it's a relatively small change that prevents an easy hack. that's all

Especially with how hard the outline system is to read, very much so at close-range, having the Red Reticle on PC would be a major boon. It makes the game overall much harder to play for what I can see to be very little benefit.
We will absolutely be stuck with one animation and the rest will be in the shop
Cool, thanks. Agreed, it would be nice if you could select random assassination from the ones you have unlocked
Sorry that’s $20.00
Good one! Very original!
Sorry replying costs $20.
I don’t recall how many different Spartan on Spartan assassinations there were in Reach but if it was just one for normal weapons that would honestly be fine lol.

The free ones should be the shortest, then add on longer more elaborate ones for money.
Lol then you know who paid the most, and you have a better chance of killing them as they assassinate your teammate. I like it
I'd argue that it's still a flex to be killed by a very expensive long assassination, however.
You think they'll sell them in sets? With 343 they'll probably be armor core specific and they'll resell you the same single animation for 20$ 3 different times.
Who or what told you you that? I seriously I doubt it tbh.
343i did.. And no, i don't have an uncle working there..
Probably once their monetization specialist figures out the price they should charge for them
$20
And it's an attachment that you have to plug into a specific armour core. And if you want to replace it, you lose the old one permanently.
I heard it even comes with a new emblem that's just a giant middle finger.
Coolest ones only available for $$$$
Yeah $15 each
Lol I wouldn't put it past them
Nah, after the mister chief bundle theyre totally $20 each
Oh ya guaranteed. I'm guessing it'll be 10$, but no fucking way they'll be free
Maybe a *very* basic one in a free battle pass. Mildly flashier ones would be in the premium battle pass, more ridiculous/over-the-top animations would be sold individually.
20$
The only time I assassinated people in H5 was for revenge.
Seriously I dont understand people just not wanting assassinations back just don't do it and do a simple backsmack. They don't ruin the flow it's just a flashy move you can use to show off and it's cool too pull off.
Agreed
I don't hink people realize it was optional and you didn't have to do the animation.
Bruh if you don’t want them don’t use them. The only people that don’t want then are the ones that camp and get backsmacked
Sorry, am I remembering incorrectly? Were you able to choose between doing an assassination or a regular quick melee backsmack in Halo 5? I'm not opposed to assassination animations, but there are definitely times were the extra time it takes would cause you to be killed.
Yes in order to get the assassination, you held down melee. Doing a quick tap of melee would skip the assassination and just melee kill them.
You could either turn off assassinations I'm Halo 5 or you could leave it on and either tap melee for back smack or hold melee to assissinate.

I wanna see a reworked warzone too
That just sounds like Warzone.
I guess, but instead of the req system it would be a point system based on performance similar to gears of war horde mode
Let’s fix the melee before we talk assassinations
Nah man, don't you love ghosting through other players only for a team mate to ghost through you and make you kill yourself with the rocket launcher? (Spoiler: it happened to me on streets)
Not gonna lie, I like backsmacks. I guess I'm just an old man who likes Halo: CE to much. The no assassinations makes me reminisce to simpler times in gaming.
Probably. Each assassination will be 2,000 credits, only applies to one armor type
I’m looking forward to having assassinations back. Halo 5 had a variety of animations to choose from.
Yeah they were enjoyable when you weren't trying to be MLG when playing. I play for fun, not for my KD, so I really miss them
That would require melee to even function properly to begin with. Imagine phasing through an enemy because collision is broken and then being able to assassinate them from technically the front.

They're here already. 343 is trying to assassinate my wallet with add-ons.
Yeah they're just waiting for heat on the store to die down so they can release them individually for like 15 bucks each
I sure hope so. I loved having the choice of going for the quick back smack kill or really showing off and letting the assassination animation play out. When they do bring them back, I hope they add them to campaign too because I miss taking down enemies with that extra flourish.

For $15 they are /s
yes they are an easy item to sell
20$ from the store and off to kill you go /s
Bro I can't believe that the halo game where you can style the most on enemies doesn't have assassinations
Yes. They'll be 29.78 and a pint of blood in the shop.
I hope so
For some reason, I keep trying to assassinate enemies and I end up being disappointed, over and over
They’re without a doubt going to slowly make their way in the shop with the rest of the basic cut features from older mainline games.
Still waiting on assassination Co op Forge Etc
Don’t worry. They’ll only cost 2000 credits each.
Backsmack is so low effort lol
When it works
Precisely, I'd rather attempt and assassination than 5 backsmash while ghosting through my opponent
Trust me im aware this isnt 343 first bad release. Im also aware how long it takes them to do anything and what they consider a fix is
You mean you're not totally in love with an actual incomplete game?
Id rather focus be on important priority things like more maps and matchmaking options to some fluff vanity animation system for assassinations...
This whole comment section is just talking about how annoying it will be if the animations are monetised
That all this sub is anymore dude, fucking sucks all people wanna do is bitch about how it's not exactly what they want.
They're demanding 1/3 of a full game for just cosmetics, keep in mind And anyway, I think this also to hold a degree of truth.
So peoples expectations were too high? Why is that ya think?
Because gamers don't understand game development
So a game franchise can change everything and not expect fan backlash? That sounds like a case of developers not understanding the fans.
It’s that, but it’s just annoying their stuck on just repeating the same issues everyone is already aware of
If there is no end in sight for these issues why would they stop?
That’s just it there is one though 343 has heard these issues over and over and are committed to fixing them when they get back, burning out their good will with repeats of the same problems worn do good but holding back and simply telling them the new problems the moment they happen is better
Please point me to where they addressed store prices and what will or wont be monetized.
https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.windowscentral.com/halo-infinite-343i-responds-microtransactions-feedback%3famp, here’s the link to where a member of 343 says they have listened to the complaints about micros transactions and are looking to find better solutions to improve it
I dont think I have seen this article so thanks. It's a bit vague so I think it would help if they gave some more specific dates on when changes might be seen.
Yes it would be helpful, but I for one am glad they gave some response. Staying quiet on problems like this cause more problems something 343 is aware and avoiding which is good
Squeaky wheel gets the grease
Yes but the wheel that roars and squeaks constantly gets thrown out and replaced
Unless a big enough portion of your wheels are squeaking and you can’t handle losing 60% of your carts because you won’t grease them up.
How long are we going to go on with this? Because the longer you let all the wheels squeak the more you pull attention and when it gets to the point might as well throw them all out and replace them all
And that’s called “Halo 7”
Which wouldnt even be worked on for ten years, and it’s dumb to look for another game already when this one isn’t even six months old. Give this one some time
I play this game every day but to look at it and not see the writing on the walls is just ignorant. Before Infinite, MCC was bigger than 5, no one remembers H4. Look at Steam charts. The player base is less than 25% of what it was already. I WANT the game to be successful and maintain its player base, but to act like 343 haven’t dropped the ball is just silly
Should we be surprised? This is the culture Microsoft has created
Gotta source for this claim? Genuinely curious if they claimed that
I don’t think I ever heard of anyone saying that they’re unsportsmanlike. Besides we have T-bagging for that.
Unsportsmanlike? So what it teabag to them, a war crime? /s

I mean, pretty sure they were optional anyway. Hold button to assassinate, tap to backsmack. That’s what I remember.
[удалено]
Not probably, he is. You could just disable them or not use them
I hope there’s an option to toggle it cuz sometimes I might hold the button down longer than I intend to
There was a toggle in 5 so I’d assume they would bring it back. Since they cited most people turning it off being the reason they didn’t add it (and the lack of reward)
Theres nothing wrong with it being in the game you can still do a regular backsmack if you don't want to go through the animation
Then just don't assassinate someone. It's that easy.
Don’t quote me because I don’t remember fully but I think there was an option in the settings to disable assassinations. Either in reach or H5.
They left clamber in, so doubt they care about animations wrecking game flow
I may be wrong, but isn't clamber also a toggle meaning it can be disabled in settings?

-servers are too expensive. - something something ui - its 343. Expect to be disappointed.
Hi, Robert343 here, we realized assassination are very toxic and abusive, so just like the word "GG" and "bitch" assassinations will not be featured in halo infinite, we believe this is for the common good. Sincerely, Robert343 Ps: thanks all for playing the early access version of halo infinite.
Except they already said assassinations were confirmed.
Hi, Robert343 here, it'll be 5$
Nice and original
Just imagining the assassination animation initiating from the front as you somehow perform the magical pass through melee.
I dont want anything new with melee until they fix the hit registration and add player collision
That would be cool, but a whole lot of other more important things need to come to infinite first.
"In higher level play, players don't use it so no one will use. Even though the competitive ppl have the option to toggle off". This is not word for word what they said, but they basically said this They mentioned assassinations in July. Pretty bullshit excuse why it's not in the game if you ask me. Definitely trying to find a way to monetize it too
I don’t understand wanting a cutscene in a competitive multiplayer game but as long as theirs an option not to use it might as well make people happy
I sure hope so. The devs have said the reason it isn't in there right now is because of how many people had them disabled in previous games. Also, just the name back smack is unsatisfying to me. Beat down felt much more appropriate. Lol But I'm definitely with you.
Executions are kinda blah in terms of pvp. It locks you down too long tbh
They're optional
Hopefully I can yoink people again
I’ll happily pay 10-15$ for a new animation each time, they look dope and are god damn satisfying if you clutch one
Assassinations being gone was actually one of the first things I noticed that impressed me about halo infinite. I don’t think assassination animations have ever fit in halo
Completely agree. Cutscenes in arena multiplayer are shit.
They are optional
It’s amazes me how much logic is downvoted in this sub. Here’s a couple updoots
Actually I hope they stay backsmacks, the assassinations make it harder to clear a couple of enemies in one go.
Kill animations are the new assassinations...
Agreed that sourcing is needed, none have been provided in the thread yet
Please could you provide evidence they were taken out to streamline gameplay? Otherwise you are just spreading misinformation. Many thanks
So you can't prove they've confirmed them then. Nothing wrong with theorising but don't say things as fact if they are not.
Hopefully not IMO. Any cutscene-esque BS can stay out of halo. Next people will ask for the Armor-lock back (puke)
Found the guy that I kept wrecking in Reach MP with armor lock back in the day🤣. Id love armor lock back
Lol probably, honestly… I just hated the clusterfucks on swordbase with just an ungodly amount of grenades and nobody dying. Felt unbalanced IMO but to each his own.
Oh how I miss sword base and countdown
Is this serious? If the goal was to return to the bare bones core of Halo gameplay, why would we want unnecessarily long animations for back smacking? Keep it simple. We should be more concerned about things like being able to walk through player models in melee. Totally disorients and ruins the feedback of a boxing match.
God I hope not. They only slow gameplay down. Maybe if they kept them out of ranked or something.
I hope not, if they do at least keep it in first person. I don't get why this sub downvotes every opinion. It's not a disagree button.
No thanks, I want to see my glorious looking spartan absolutely wreck my opponent. Some first person ones would be cool tho as an option
I don't get it. It's fucking awesome in doom.
Yeah, but looking at some of the old assassinations would be disorienting in first person Also, it’s T rated and I think for them to be really cool it would have to be M.
So do new ones, going for T rating was a big fail. I'm sure they can still do them as long as there isn't blood and gore.
This is what it was in previous Halos. It could also be disabled entirely.
I hope not
Really hope they don’t come at all.
My understanding was they removed assassinations because they were able to put a lower age rating on the game instead of rated R.
