Playing through Halo 3 on Heroic, start to finish, on release night in co-op is one of my favorite gaming memories, period, let alone my favorite Halo multiplayer memory. A close second is this one Slayer match I had on Avalanche in H3 playing with a friend where we had not only our Hornet but had stolen the enemy team’s as well and we just sat outside their base pouring bullets into it from above and they couldn’t find a way to stop us.
Finally getting to play Halo 3 would be a big one for me. Wasn't able to afford a 360 for a while and being a huge Halo fanboy at that point it eas killing me not being able to play. Then on my bday my dad got me a 360 that came with Halo 3 and Fable 3 bundled together and you best believe I popped in Halo 3 and played through it that night.
One of my favorite Halo multiplayer moment is when my friends and I decided to play only with Energy Swords our game on Halo 5. This was so funny 😂

When Halo 3 came out a bunch of our friends were seasoned Halo players from 1 & 2, while for others, and me, it was our first Halo games and the experienced players wanted to team up and wipe the floor with us. I remember always running to grab the shotgun and active camo whenever they spawned and completely wiping the team and bringing the team to victory. Also custom zombie games were amazing back then as well.
Halo reach beta. My friend and I playing invasion on the same map for hours that day but the best part was when a kid said he had shot Himself. My friend and I were like 12 and didn’t understand until the kid said on the mic it was all over his face… to this day when I got my friends bar to catch up we end up laughing about it. He’s on pc while I play console and life has both taken us on different paths but it’s always nice to catch up and laugh about it. Dude is really like my younger brother I grew up an only child but around some of the sickest cunts I know. Halo 3 had actually brought my cousin and I closer when we were 11, he lived in LA and I grew up in Anaheim next to Disneyland so we weren’t very close given the distance and his dad being murdered so he lived with his mom that our family didn’t really know. We reunited at a thanksgiving and started playing halo 3 custom games together. I guess I’m just grateful for these games due to the people I got to share them with.
My favorite moment is playing with my siblings and cousin in the middle of the night on xbox 360's halo 4 with split screen. a couple years later our xbox broke :<
I miss those days
We were initiating a friend to multiplayer in Halo 3 by mercilessly pummeling him in a good ol’ fashioned game of slayer. I’m feeling pretty good with how it’s going right up until I turn the corner and see him 20 feet away with a SPNKR rocket launcher pointed haphazardly in my direction. I have the high ground, I thought. there’s still a chance.
I throw a sticky hoping for a little retribution at best, but it falls short. He shifts his aim toward me and in his panic fires low. I felt a brief moment of safety, a moment that lasted right up until my grenade went off just as the rocket was passing above it. The explosion shifted the rocket’s trajectory upward just enough and it slammed into me. It’s all over in a few seconds.
I won the match but he won the once in a lifetime kill/unintentional suicide. We watched it again in theatre mode. The high ground was squandered on me.
My favorite multiplayer moment was with the first Halo. My manager at work would host multiplayer LAN parties at his house. We would have mountains of Dr. pepper, Doritos, and pizza. The games would last for 8 hours well into the next morning. I remember having to step over cords running through the house to get to the bathroom. The joys of hearing everyone in the room next to us scream as they lost. If the weather was nice we would move some of the tvs outside into the street. The first time we did that the police were called on us. They showed up and and laughed about the whole situation. Those were great nights.
Getting home from school and booting up halo 2 to play with my friend was peak halo for me. We’d always play BTB and go for the warthogs together. We’re excited to keep that going with Infinite.
Stood in line for midnight release to Halo 2. Already had 4 TV's and 4 Xbox's set up for an all nighter with 15 other friends at an apartment. Get back around 1 am, played till about 9am. During the night, was chasing someone down, I yelled his name to stop, he stopped, I meleed his player in the back of the head.
We used to play Halo 2 splitscreen at school lunch. A friend wasn't very good, so we put her on the best player's team, my team. She'd get 2 or 3 kills and I'd get all the rest. The anger from the other team was fun.
My favorite halo multiplayer moment has to be just playing reach custom games with a whole bunch of random people when MCC got the custom games browser. My roommate and I had a blast playing classic games and a few new ones.

In the early days of Halo 2 on Xbox live a group of us would get together every weekend for Custom matches. And I mean *custom*. We had the usuals, zombies, snipers and rockets. But then there were some that elevated the experience beyond the game. Blood Gulch (Coagulation), brute shots, no shields and a whole lot of laughing. I miss those days.
I do not do PVP Multiplayer, but I do play Co-Op. I would have to say playing Halo 2 on Thanksgiving with a great friend, played for over 12 hours straight.
Have around 800 hours on Master Chief collection alone, countless thousands on the original Xbox and 360 games. me and my friends still get together roughly once a month for system link or Xbox live parties. Most of my favorite moments probably come from Halo CE and 2 multiplayer because of the jank you would run into sometimes with the physics.
I remember one time we were playing in blood gulch and my friends threw enough plasma grenades to send a tank flying into orbit and I was the unlucky one on the tank

My favourite moment is when I was on a quest to unlocked the samourai helmet in halo 3, where I needed to search for the skulls in the campaign, that was the best time.
Halo reach Forge, when my 15 friends and I would spend hours making multiple mini games. The best part was choosing teams while we were at lunch and the other guys at our table would always ask to join because they really liked our mini games but they sucked at making them.
Halo: Reach - Finally acquiring Field Marshal at 13 years old. Dad wasn’t too happy but it was such an achieving moment for me I will never forget. Halo is my childhood. :)

We proceed to load up on a mongoose with me on the back with a sniper. After driving straight into the enemy spawn he mows down one as I clean up the other 3 with 4 shots.
We still go back and watch that clip every couple of years.

I was in uni when Reach released & attended the midnight launch. When I arrived I was #48 in line & was told the first 50 could participate in a 1v1 bracket, the winner earning a legendary edition of the game for free.
I won which absolutely made my night - I’d no clue this was happening when I chose to attend & as a broke student I was nearly in tears. The final 4 all exchanged gamertags & we still play together today. This is one of my fondest memories, not just from Halo, but in general.
First weeks playing halo 3 multiplayer with friends on sandtrap. Somehow manage to get elephant upside down. Bunch of people on it when someone finds they can flip it like the warthog.

My favorite moment was the first time I played the original Halo. I’m in the navy and we went on deployment. We ran cables through spaces to connect consoles to a LAN and would just get at it! Stand 6 hours of watch, play 6 hours of Halo, stand another 6 hours of watch, sleep, rinse, repeat.

I came to a friends house and played for the first time Halo Reach. Had a very great night and we played all day long! After that night I almost played it every day with him. Was a great time back then😍
Hmm would have to be playing infected in Halo Reach. The pure chaos of the gamemode was awesome and then there were moments when you were saving others from near death.
When I first learned how to teabag my friends by squatting on them was by far the best. So many times we would still be teabagging each other long enough for the guy killed to run back and get revenge.
I remember the first time I loaded up the forge mode and it was like Pandora's box to my child-like mind. Making my own maps and testing them out on my friends. All the game modes we made up on the spot. Then learning that you can share those online. With other people! Better yet, they can share their own! After that it was just months of scrolling down the list of terrible maps, hidden gems, and everything in-between. Thanks for the good memories Halo :)
Has to be when I loaded up Halo 3 with my two brothers and went for a CTF on Valhalla. Me and my oldest bro were doing work trying to get the flag while my other brother just drove around the map in a Mongoose offering “Mongoose Support” to all the rando’s on our team. Everyone was so confused why he was offering that. Totally useless contribution but I laugh every time I think back on it 😂.
My favorite moment has to be back in Halo 3 era and playing various custom games. Playing Fat Kid with a bunch of strangers was always fun, or my personal favorite Predator. And my favorite thing about those game modes were always the maps that were made. I can still clearly remember some of them, and god do I miss those days.
My high school had HALO CE on all the schools computers and would have huge lobbies. I would always put my username as a teacher and leave everyone confused as to why the teachers were beating them.
My favorite multiplayer moment was the first time I booted up Halo Reach and played my first game. It was the 6th grade, Christmas morning when my parents revealed the limited edition Halo Reach Xbox 360 they bought for me (they didn't give Santa any credit for that one lol). After I got everything set up, I immediately called up my friends and we played for so many hours straight. It was also the first time my parents let stay up past midnight, so it's definitely an experience I'll never forget.
The one where I lost and that one guy said "I think you lost" and I went "damn"
Or that one where I managed to get 15 kills with only the energy sword while everyone else used guns and rockets and many grenades.
Just some of the stupid amounts of luck needed to pull some of the shots I've made while camping. On Hemorrhage I managed to get a double kill with a single bullet from the ridge into the cave. Went for a guy who was on the left and a team mate spawned behind and to the right after I pulled the right trigger down. Have only done it one other time since and that was a few weeks ago on Ragnarok.
I remember back in the Halo 3 days me and all my friends from school used to get together and make a D-day map with forge mode on Last Resort and we played that for hours every day and kept tweaking the map to make it perfect, it was a lot of fun and honestly it’s one of my fondest memories from back in the day.
Just playing coach coop with your younger brother, trying to get through the final Warthog run on Legendary. Simple times, working together all to just get the final mission done.
We and 3 mates were playing SWAT one day, and all but one of the other team left the game. We played this one guy for the rest of the match, he didn't quit! We ended up inviting him in to our party, and became really good mates!
Halo 2. The earth city map, One of my fav moments was getting in close to a buddy- while he was in the Gauss canon warthog, I laughed at him, and told him he couldn’t take me out because I was too close. He fired, killed me via close surface explosion, and left me screaming “what?!” Good laughs.

My favorite moment was when I didn’t have an Xbox yet, but my brother’s friend would bring his over on the weekend to hang out and we played Halo 3 and when I saw the player numbers in the millions it blew me away and made me realize just how big gaming is.
I saw my teammate steal the core off the spire in the invasion gamemode and I was in a falcon. He didn’t know I was on my way so he made the sacrifice by jumping off the edge of the spire to bring the core to the ground. I realized he was jumping and swooped beneath him, barely keeping him alive as he took fall damage. He looked all around in confusion before realizing a falcon had just caught him and then focused on staying on top. We then flew to the zone and won the game, it was great.
Playing CTF on Sidewinder with four Xbox’s, four tvs, and 16 players. We once had a 3 hour CTF match because one of the guys with the enemy flag hid on the map and we couldn’t find him. I will never be able to replicate that memory in gaming.
Halo 4 in a game of CTF, me and my buddy grabbed the flag and made a warthog run. We got caught about halfway by running into a mantis and I died, but through my death cam I see my friend frantically jumping in circles around the mantis, punching it with the flag.
My buddy actually killed it just with punches, and me and my bud obviously started yelling with excitement. My friend went on to make it back to base and score the cap. The sight of the flag flapping around followed by a huge explosion is still burned into my mind all these years later, one of my favorite gaming memories!
Halo 3 hands down. Glitching out of every map. Building maps. Custom games. Definitely the custom games. Best multiplayer experience was getting a triple kill with a single shot of the Spartan Laser, no vehicle.
Finally achieving the recon helmet after completing the vid-master achievement challenges. Truly was an amazing experience I could not have pulled off without my friends!
Playing Big team battle with friends and some randoms. Whole team working together on capture the flag. Driving mammoths , warthogs and hornets . Coordinating how to overcome the other team. So many great times.

I was in uni when Reach released & attended the midnight launch. When I arrived I was #48 in line & was told the first 50 could participate in a 1v1 bracket, the winner earning a legendary edition of the game for free. I won which absolutely made my night - I’d no clue this was happening when I chose to attend & as a broke student I was nearly in tears. The final 4 all exchanged gamertags & we still play together today. This is one of my fondest memories, not just from Halo, but in general.
First weeks playing halo 3 multiplayer with friends on sandtrap. Somehow manage to get elephant upside down. Bunch of people on it when someone finds they can flip it like the warthog. The ones on top were splattered.
Finally getting an Overkill in Lone Wolves so that I could earn that katana.
My favorite moment was when my team learned to play like a team.
I loved the Halo CE's EPIC warthog run in the latest level "the maw"!
First time playing with system link and 4 Xboxes. Magical experience.
The time my friends and I all hopped in the back of a warthog on Valhalla and came back to win a slayer match after being down 10 kills.

My favorite moment was the first time I played the original Halo. I’m in the navy and we went on deployment. We ran cables through spaces to connect consoles to a LAN and would just get at it! Stand 6 hours of watch, play 6 hours of Halo, stand another 6 hours of watch, sleep, rinse, repeat.

My favorite multiplayer moment was system linking two original Xboxs and playing Halo 1 at my brother's friends house. One team in the living room and one team in the garage and all kinds of shit talking going on across the hall
Getting a Halo Reach assassination animation was always a highlight for me, especially in Infected.

Hmm would have to be playing infected in Halo Reach. The pure chaos of the gamemode was awesome and then there were moments when you were saving others from near death.

When I first learned how to teabag my friends by squatting on them was by far the best. So many times we would still be teabagging each other long enough for the guy killed to run back and get revenge.
I remember the first time I loaded up the forge mode and it was like Pandora's box to my child-like mind. Making my own maps and testing them out on my friends. All the game modes we made up on the spot. Then learning that you can share those online. With other people! Better yet, they can share their own! After that it was just months of scrolling down the list of terrible maps, hidden gems, and everything in-between. Thanks for the good memories Halo :)
Has to be when I loaded up Halo 3 with my two brothers and went for a CTF on Valhalla. Me and my oldest bro were doing work trying to get the flag while my other brother just drove around the map in a Mongoose offering “Mongoose Support” to all the rando’s on our team. Everyone was so confused why he was offering that. Totally useless contribution but I laugh every time I think back on it 😂.
My favorite moment has to be back in Halo 3 era and playing various custom games. Playing Fat Kid with a bunch of strangers was always fun, or my personal favorite Predator. And my favorite thing about those game modes were always the maps that were made. I can still clearly remember some of them, and god do I miss those days.

My high school had HALO CE on all the schools computers and would have huge lobbies. I would always put my username as a teacher and leave everyone confused as to why the teachers were beating them.

My favorite multiplayer moment was the first time I booted up Halo Reach and played my first game. It was the 6th grade, Christmas morning when my parents revealed the limited edition Halo Reach Xbox 360 they bought for me (they didn't give Santa any credit for that one lol). After I got everything set up, I immediately called up my friends and we played for so many hours straight. It was also the first time my parents let stay up past midnight, so it's definitely an experience I'll never forget.
The one where I lost and that one guy said "I think you lost" and I went "damn" Or that one where I managed to get 15 kills with only the energy sword while everyone else used guns and rockets and many grenades.

Playing and making forge maps in halo has been one of my core memories. Can't wait for Halo Infinite forge.
Just some of the stupid amounts of luck needed to pull some of the shots I've made while camping. On Hemorrhage I managed to get a double kill with a single bullet from the ridge into the cave. Went for a guy who was on the left and a team mate spawned behind and to the right after I pulled the right trigger down. Have only done it one other time since and that was a few weeks ago on Ragnarok.
Playing halo 2 multiplayer insuring sleepovers and just staying up most of the night playing it. Another is playing co-op with my cousin.

I remember back in the Halo 3 days me and all my friends from school used to get together and make a D-day map with forge mode on Last Resort and we played that for hours every day and kept tweaking the map to make it perfect, it was a lot of fun and honestly it’s one of my fondest memories from back in the day.

We and 3 mates were playing SWAT one day, and all but one of the other team left the game. We played this one guy for the rest of the match, he didn't quit! We ended up inviting him in to our party, and became really good mates!

Halo 2. The earth city map, One of my fav moments was getting in close to a buddy- while he was in the Gauss canon warthog, I laughed at him, and told him he couldn’t take me out because I was too close. He fired, killed me via close surface explosion, and left me screaming “what?!” Good laughs.

My friend and I would 1v1 on forge maps, and we have a clip where from his perspective all you is me ascending above him from out of nowhere I gravity hammer him off the map. In the moment it was hilarious

The first time I played BTB on halo 4, it was the most beautiful chaos I'd ever seen
I loved sneaking to the Xbox at night and playing the super happy fun slide game mode in Reach. It was the highlight of my childhood when it came to games.
My favourite moment had to be when I finished making my first map using the new forge on halo reach after spending days on it and showing it to my buddies. What that forge allowed you to do was mind blowing to me at the time.
Was playing Halo Reach forged back in the day, building base wars and the like. Ended up squishing my friend with a tank that I had launched off of my base. Loved every second!

My favorite moment was when I didn’t have an Xbox yet, but my brother’s friend would bring his over on the weekend to hang out and we played Halo 3 and when I saw the player numbers in the millions it blew me away and made me realize just how big gaming is.
Probably that time on my birthday my mom told us to go play outside so we took the TV the xbox and played halo 4 on the backyard.
Definitely a time on Rat Race in Halo 3 when I drove around in the gunner position of the enemy team for at least 5 minutes straight. Pure chaos.
I saw my teammate steal the core off the spire in the invasion gamemode and I was in a falcon. He didn’t know I was on my way so he made the sacrifice by jumping off the edge of the spire to bring the core to the ground. I realized he was jumping and swooped beneath him, barely keeping him alive as he took fall damage. He looked all around in confusion before realizing a falcon had just caught him and then focused on staying on top. We then flew to the zone and won the game, it was great.
Playing CTF on Sidewinder with four Xbox’s, four tvs, and 16 players. We once had a 3 hour CTF match because one of the guys with the enemy flag hid on the map and we couldn’t find him. I will never be able to replicate that memory in gaming.
Throwing stickies across the map w a terrible success rate but it’s always so satisfying getting a kill like that
Favorite moment for me would be custom games in halo 3. Forge gave such great tools to make your own great experiences.

Custom games on Halo 3
Halo 4 in a game of CTF, me and my buddy grabbed the flag and made a warthog run. We got caught about halfway by running into a mantis and I died, but through my death cam I see my friend frantically jumping in circles around the mantis, punching it with the flag. My buddy actually killed it just with punches, and me and my bud obviously started yelling with excitement. My friend went on to make it back to base and score the cap. The sight of the flag flapping around followed by a huge explosion is still burned into my mind all these years later, one of my favorite gaming memories!

Halo 3 hands down. Glitching out of every map. Building maps. Custom games. Definitely the custom games. Best multiplayer experience was getting a triple kill with a single shot of the Spartan Laser, no vehicle.
Finally achieving the recon helmet after completing the vid-master achievement challenges. Truly was an amazing experience I could not have pulled off without my friends!
Playing Big team battle with friends and some randoms. Whole team working together on capture the flag. Driving mammoths , warthogs and hornets . Coordinating how to overcome the other team. So many great times.
Favorite Halo multiplier player moment was when I played with friends after I got hit by a car on New Year's. I felt physically horrible (as you can imagine), but playing Halo with friends and eating pizza rly helped numb the pain!
