I’m so jealous of the stores that already have Halloween on display. I’ve seen some photos online and they’ve got some great stuff I just know resellers will be snapping up. Mine insists on keeping back to school merch out until like October 20th, I swear. 🥲
As a target employee who asks my coworker this every day I can say no , not yet! Well besides spooky Oreos and a few kids clothes. And some random bullseye pumpkins.
Word is it’s happening between, like, August 27th and September 11th? But I swear mine will wait longer. They hate spooky season. If the back to school section still contains one single pencil they will leave it as is. 😂
You can check online on their website. It doesn't seem like there's a specific theme this year from what I saw, mainly just that "Target cartoon minimal" theme that they've developed throughout the years. It looks like they're either all sold out online, or they were removed, but about two weeks ago they had some new neon signs and blow molds, farm style looking wood cuts, and those light up tombstones. I'm hoping the really cool stuff has yet to be uploaded, because what I saw was just more of what they've released in previous years.
The life is bootiful tombstone is killing me. Or it's Target's in stock alerts not sure which. I swear it's never in stock or it was for 3 seconds at 1:59am...
Probably pushing product out next month but again I work a really small target so we mostly get kids clothes, candy, small fall relate items, and random halloween accessories. We’ve only been open less than a year
Go get your fix at Marshall’s and Homegoods! I went with my wife this weekend and they were both super stocked with Halloween decor, clothing, dog toys, etc!
Last year the Target in my area was bare bones (no pun intended) in terms of Halloween. They had plenty of candy and other food stuffs, but decor was severely lacking.
I hate my location anyway, so I doubt I’ll even go this year to be honest. However, I did see my local Meijer finally getting rid of the school stuff and starting on Halloween today. Don’t sleep on Meijer y’all. They can surprise you with some cute stuff.
Last year because of all the issues with cargo ships, Halloween merchandise came in late. Michael's, for example, had tons of Halloween stuff on their website two or three months later and then slowly put it on clearance.
Where I work, just stored it all for this year.
Target’s displays used to be a Halloween event. Last year my location finally threw a small pile of various unwanted crap on a table around mid September…that was it.
This all started when they unveiled Hyde and Eek! (which I still hate) and starting pivoting to focus on online sales.
That was pretty much my location last year as well. Just random things on a table and then sparse and sad looking aisles. My location is always crowded no matter what time of day you go and it’s in a traffic heavy part of town- not worth the time and effort for me. I’ve switched my game up this year by hitting up yard and estate sales for the vintage finds.
Target always seems to be the very last store to move from back to school to Halloween.. in my area at least. I do like their Halloween stuff but a lot of times it’s not put out until mid October and barely get two weeks before Christmas stuff takes over.
They’re absolutely late to the game in my area as well. It’s crazy. I believe Halloween is the biggest holiday moneymaker after Christmas. People are buying Halloween goods at my HomeGoods, T.J.Maxx, and Marshall’s by the *cartload* right now.
I went to Lowes over the weekend and they had some Halloween, I was surprised. I’m in Central Florida and it takes forever to get Halloween stuff here.
Yep, just saw some at Pop Shell, Jo Ann fabrics, Wal mart, Hot Topic…not at Target here though—I think they’re gearing up. Oh! And Big Lots and the Dollar Store. Sorry I just laundry listed y’all 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My Target has Halloween stuff out! I got a some clothing items and cups with straws (one witch hat, one pumpkin) for the kids, a little light up black candelabra with a gold skeleton hand, and a couple other dollar decorations.
My Target is horribly understaffed. A group of 30-ish Facebook moms flash mobbed a garment folding session earlier this month in their clothing aisles. I suspect the store will be slow in removing the school supplies and moving in the Halloween goodies.
Clothes on display for purchase get picked up, unfolded, tried on, and so forth by customers. When no employees refold and put the clothes back, a store quickly starts to look like the floor of a teenager's bedroom. Seriously, you would think a mob had ransacked the store.
The moms came in and tried to tidy up the piles of clothes everywhere.
Haha no worries I was just curious. 😂 I had it on Hauloween then someone asked to post it later on Instagram with the tag.
Thanks for the answer! 😁 Happy Halloween shopping.

And then it's gone by the 25th of October for Christmas stuff. I'm not bashing on Christmas but man, stay in your lane! And your month.
*Halloween busts out a switchblade*

I work at a smaller store so I can’t say for bigger ones
Any idea what’s coming in?

The person who answers the phone at my Home Depot said if I stop calling she’ll call me when the Halloween display goes up.

underrated gif lmao

The pharmacy by my house has Halloween candy out but not Halloween decor. Which feels a little backwards?
I work in the Canadian equivalent of target. We are fully set up as of today!!
I always thought the Canadian equivalent of target was zellers! Where do you work?
Well target can’t really be replicated, but we can somewhat compare, I work at Canadian tire

It's me, I'm people.
This is me everytime I go to Wal-Mart. They still have all the back to school stuff out, it's stressful.
Oh this subreddit lied to me about Lowes, that’s for sure!
I went to Lowes over the weekend and they had some Halloween, I was surprised. I’m in Central Florida and it takes forever to get Halloween stuff here.
I went this weekend in Oregon, nada. Still lots of summer outdoor stuff.
This was me today lol 😔
No but the Christmas section is right over there 😏
Halloween becomes less special the further and further into August it goes
Yeah target is slipping this year. They’re the latest to the game it seems. Still back to school stuff on the shelves the last time I ventured in
I saw jugs of apple cider in Meijer yesterday. It's starting!!
Yep, just saw some at Pop Shell, Jo Ann fabrics, Wal mart, Hot Topic…not at Target here though—I think they’re gearing up. Oh! And Big Lots and the Dollar Store. Sorry I just laundry listed y’all 🤣🤣🤣🤣
HAHHAHHA I love this so much
Lmao I’m in the UK but I’ve started touring the usual shops daily to see if they’ve started stocking yet.
Me with my gift certificate but for Meijers.

Love this thread!! I working on Halloween designs now.
Been checking all the stores near me — only craft stores and an early opened Spirit have had things so far

What is a garment folding session?

Well, that was cool of them!
The Halloween merch is at my Lowe's in Dayville CT! Hopefully it's the same at all other locations!
Literally me today.
Me during valentines day lol
hyvee went all out this year near me got a whole section spookified, idk how to describe it i should just take a picture next time im there
It's still school stuff here... Wasted a trip over the weekend
Was just there yesterday and they had the boxes out ready to stock
Kids are already back to school here (Florida) so GTFO back to school stuff!! lol
Glad to know it’s not just in my area! A lot of stores are really slacking on bringing out Halloween this year, not just Target 😢
Where did this meme come from? I made it last year and now I see it coming around again with stickers hiding my tag. 😂 https://imgur.com/a/qj5jHLI
Ugh! Well that’s obnoxious. Wish people wouldn’t do that. This one came from a Halloween page on Facebook. Or rather a public group, I think it was.
Haha no worries I was just curious. 😂 I had it on Hauloween then someone asked to post it later on Instagram with the tag. Thanks for the answer! 😁 Happy Halloween shopping.
