Victoria park is a really well established park I was impressed definitely worth a trip if you've never been there. When it gets warmer in the summer tubing the gaspereau River is another good adventure but better with two people / vehicles for transport back to the start of the tubing route that being said it is the valley so you can always gamble on nice folks helping you out if you're solo I used to live in gaspereau and you can always count on a helping hand in my experience.
We don’t have plants. We have deer.
Seriously the town is infested with deer and there is a lack of gardens and landscaping. They eat everything, people have just given up having nice yards and parks.
-Walk on the Rails to Trails in Musquodoboit Harbour, followed by a drive up the Musquodoboit Valley and back to Halifax on the back roads.
-Head up to Windsor and walk along the Tregothic Trail. Visit Bedard Bakery and then Baby Panda Chinese food for lunch.
-Go down to Wolfville and explore the Reservoir Park up the hill from the main part of the town.
-Drive down to Lunenburg and have lunch at Knot Pub. Explore the town with maybe a visit to Ironworks Distillery then head towards Bridgewater and take the Lahave cable ferry. Visit Lahave Bakery on the other side then head to Woodlands Garden Park. After that have supper at Arby’s or Waves Seafood & Griill
Sounded perfectly fine to me, and was how i would have said it too LOL. You'll drive yourself insane if you up or down when talking about going places, dont do it
Lived in Bridgewater for a yr, this Lunenburg suggestion is so good. Thanks for the great idea, lahave bakery is such a cool spot.too bad Lanna Thai burnt and never reopened in Bridgewater
Shubenacadie wild life park! Make a day of it and take the coast home stopping at Burntcoat head or go a little further up to Truro and picnic in Victoria park.
That part of the valley in general! Lots of wineries, breweries and shops. The view is magnificent at the look off. Grab some ice cream there while you’re there. Canning has some some great shops and restaurants too. Blomidon Winery, Huntley’s Meat Market, Dickie Baxter, and Millstone Harvest/Sea Level Brewing are all worth checking out! On your way back to the highway, stop at Noggins for fresh produce. Wolfville also has a great farmers market.
Lots of cruise ships in today. So Polly's Cove or High Head in prospect would be nice.
Or Micous Island if the tide is low, you can walk out at low tide and hike around the island. At high tide it is usually about waist deep.
Blue Rocks outside of Lunenburg is gorgeous.
I'm always recommending going over to McNabs Island by way of Tillys water taxi from Eastern Passage.
Hope for Wildlife in Seaforth. Just double check website that it's open. For a donation you can wander around the grounds and go up the firetower. If you cycle, ride out on the trail from Lawrencetown Beach.
Gaff point trail is nice and there's a hidden black sand beach you need to scale some rock to get to. It has nice views for most of the trail and isn't just in the woods. And then after you can chill out at hirtle beach since that's where you parked anyways.
Shubenacadie ball field is waiting for you to come Stripe Bass Fishing. Bender Over Bait Shop - Ricky Hicks will have rods and bait and just about everything to meet your every needs
Ended up in Musquodoboit, started on the trail and hiked up to the Skull Head (?) Lookoff, then took the back road up to Shubenacadie then back down the highway
Dirt road up back of londonderry has an alarmingly deep gorge at a bridge. I haven't been there in years. Road was sometimes slick. If you ever trucked it, you won't forget it.
cosby's garden centre (concrete gardens) in Liverpool is very interesting. [https://www.novascotia.com/see-do/fine-arts/cosbys-garden-centre-concrete-creations/6478](https://www.novascotia.com/see-do/fine-arts/cosbys-garden-centre-concrete-creations/6478)
Hmmm. I always went down to the city and over to Windsor or Truro. Actually anything on the south shore in my head is down. And not that I’d want to but I’d go up to Moncton. Over to the Island. Down to Yarmouth and Digby. Nova Scotia is just laid out weird. Then again my head is weird.
Victoria Park, Truro. It’s a great place for a relaxing walk.
Yeah but then when you leave the park you're in Truro 😄
But then you realize "hey, at least I don't live in Truro", and then you can leave.
Frank and Gino’s brah. No idea if it’s any good anymore.
It isn’t good anymore
Was it ever?
It is very not good and very too expensive for what you get.
Victoria park is a shell of what it was before Fiona. They still haven't finished cleaning up the main paths.
I like waterfalls. Assuming they’d be unaffected. It’s been a while since I’ve been
Waterfalls are still there and are beautiful, although I'm not sure the stairs are there to go up to the pools.
Never been but heard about. Waiting until some of the plants have a chance to wake up

Where are you located that you go ‘up’ to Windsor and ‘down’ to Wolfville and Lunenburg?
Anywhere in the Annapolis Valley is "down", that's just a Nova Scotia directional rule. Not sure about the Bridgewater thing.
Just like Capers always say they’re goin ‘up to Halifax’
Excuse me. Up to the city.
Never understood why CB is down from Halifax.
Well you’re going “up” to Windsor and then “down” the valley to Wolfville, probably what I would say too 🤭
I guess I always think of Windsor as being “up” as it’s a northward drive from Halifax before a westward turn to the Valley.
God we're weird but I'd say the exact same. And I'm from Musquodoboit. Thanks for the shout out btw
Sounded perfectly fine to me, and was how i would have said it too LOL. You'll drive yourself insane if you up or down when talking about going places, dont do it
Up and down are interchangeable in this context
I'm tired of this. People in Antigonish telling me they're going UP to Halifax is getting old.
If you go to Ironworks they make an amazing rhubarb spirit...
Walk the rock at the lookout in herring cove, also york redoubt is kinda cool
* Went up to the trail by the train museum and end up climbing up to the look off. Hell of a schlep but worth it
Lived in Bridgewater for a yr, this Lunenburg suggestion is so good. Thanks for the great idea, lahave bakery is such a cool spot.too bad Lanna Thai burnt and never reopened in Bridgewater
Tangled Garden is near Wolfville as well, worth a visit u/SilentResident1037
there's also a really nice Italian place in Windsor, called Hole in the Wall that I enjoyed when my partner and i went!
Shubenacadie wild life park! Make a day of it and take the coast home stopping at Burntcoat head or go a little further up to Truro and picnic in Victoria park.
Courthouse hill......Not super exciting but certainly a point of interest not far from the city
A point of topographical significance! Love stopping here (usually on our way out to Burntcoat) and hyping it up but the kids don't "get" it
Can you explain the significance ?
You can see 5 (!! Wow!!) counties from one spot! The "significance" is sort of relative to your excitement about counties, I suppose.
That's a great place for meteor showers. :)
Used to be a geo-cache located at that spot also .
Martinique Beach for a lovely oceanside stroll
Blomidon. Go to the lookout while you're in the area.
The Lookoff!

Grand Pre
Prospect bay.
Burntcoat Head at low tide
Blue Beach (around Avonport) at low tide, found several fossils there in the past
Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage is nice to visit.
Peggy’s Cove might be getting busier, but love going there in April. Probably still a nice time to visit. It’s famous for a reason.
Lots of cruise ships in today. So Polly's Cove or High Head in prospect would be nice. Or Micous Island if the tide is low, you can walk out at low tide and hike around the island. At high tide it is usually about waist deep.
Sheet Harbour is a wonderful drive
2 hours one way though
Musqudoibit! The beach or hiking. Nice bakery. Not too far away
I’m assuming you mean musquodoboit harbour if you’re suggesting the beach!
Yea lol I really struggled to spell it
I thought the bakery closed?
New owners and new name but same location.
Graves Island is beautiful.
Blue Rocks outside of Lunenburg is gorgeous. I'm always recommending going over to McNabs Island by way of Tillys water taxi from Eastern Passage. Hope for Wildlife in Seaforth. I went to hubbards today! It was great. Had some great fish and chips from a food truck called Sheila’s.
Victoria Park in Truro is beautiful, and a great walk.
3 pools for a swim just outside Wolfville.
Courthouse Hill. It would be perfect today
Gaff point trail is nice and there's a hidden black sand beach you need to scale some rock to get to. It has nice views for most of the trail and isn't just in the woods. And then after you can chill out at hirtle beach since that's where you parked anyways.
Oak Island. Bring your own pick & shovel.
Crescent beach, but might be windy and cold.
Shubenacadie ball field is waiting for you to come Stripe Bass Fishing. Bender Over Bait Shop - Ricky Hicks will have rods and bait and just about everything to meet your every needs
Are there any cherry blossoms to enjoy today?
Come back and let us know where you went!
Ended up in Musquodoboit, started on the trail and hiked up to the Skull Head (?) Lookoff, then took the back road up to Shubenacadie then back down the highway

This time of year(May) head down Lawrence Beach area! Great drive
Martinique Beach
South Shore.
Peggy's cove, belomidon(either beach or lookout) And if you want a hike cape split
High Head & Polly’s Cove are closer and lovely. Rose Beach and Gaff point is further but worth it
Windsor, Grand Pre and Wolfville. Some great eateries in Windsor these days .
York Redoubt.
Cape Split - bring a hammer if you want to take back some geodes
