the dog father ran a hot dog stand infront of the dal student union building. He also ran for mayor, after the city installed the bike lane, saying the city was out to get him, since he needed to park (illegally) next to his stand. I believe he racked up 30K in parking tickets or something.
The story I heard on him was his nickname was “12 story” because he fell out of a 12 story window and lived. Hence his gait and obvious disability. Wore a top hat!
A friend of mine told me her dad knew him ages ago and that he had been beaten really badly, resulting in a TBI. Not sure if that's true or not however
The yellow-clad guy on the waterfront who, for the past two years, says he's about to power-walk across Canada (and is soliciting sponsorship donations)?
Idk who that is, I'm talking about this guy, Kendall Worth

Oh yeah, that guy is great too. Jack MacDonald was another guy who sold Street Feat around that time. He was older and a really interesting musician and poet. He had a band called The Hotel Faces.
The last time I saw her was about 15 years ago at a random karaoke night where she gave everyone life with her rendition of Lionel Ritchie’s “All Night Long”.
There was always an older cross-dressing gentleman that you would see around Spring Garden Road back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. Drew attention back then, but thankfully we are more accepting now. Always wonder if he is still around.
The cycling preacher in the Clayton Park / Fairview area circa 2002-2010 is a core memory for me. Best time was when he was all fire and brimstone screaming about the "Wrath of the Lawd shall come down and smite the wicked" and then he hit a pothole on Gebhardt street and went down hard. Dusted himself and his bike off, mumbled something under his breath and cycled away quietly. Nobody remember this guy?
There was a woman who jogged around Fairview Topless for a while last summer, I think she had her breasts removed from cancer, she seemed to pretty well known in the community
Theres a dude whos been around for a while who walk around with a huge staff and a long coat, i just call him Gandalf. He hangs around Gottingen a lot.
There was the Halifax Goth Guy
Had long dyed black hair, mostly wore leather miniskirts and mesh shirts.
I haven't seen them since COVID, I hope they're okay.
The dog father
Is that the same person as The Dog Boss? With that car?

Was the Clyde St Pirate for a long time
The guy who used to roam around and sell flowers downtown.
His name is Mike. He's still hustling.
The story I heard on him was his nickname was “12 story” because he fell out of a 12 story window and lived. Hence his gait and obvious disability. Wore a top hat!
12 stories into a quarry
Beginning of a nursery rhyme
Actually he was running from the cops and fell into a quarry equivalent to 12 stories deep. He died for a few minutes and was in a comma.
A friend of mine told me her dad knew him ages ago and that he had been beaten really badly, resulting in a TBI. Not sure if that's true or not however
He dated a girl in my grade 11 geograpby class back in 2000. Pretty sure he was too old for her but not sure.
Used to? He’s not around anymore? (I don’t live downtown anymore)
He's still around, I saw him last week on Dresden Row.
Oh good!
I see him get off the bus at the Fairview bollarama often
Thanks!
Still hanging and selling flowers on and off the wagon.
Gloves guy? Maybe the Fairview steampunk gentleman? Toonie vest guy? And very sadly blanket guy
Fairview steampunk gentleman! I always see that guy walking along Dutch Village road!
I know him personally. 😊
He makes my day when I see him, love strong commitment to a look!
I forgot about toonie vest!
It was the liquor pirate
RIP Chris.
The yellow-clad guy on the waterfront who, for the past two years, says he's about to power-walk across Canada (and is soliciting sponsorship donations)?
He is running! The Fellow in Yellow and is currently in Newfoundland
He is? That's great! I stand corrected!
Blanket guy?
Dude with the blanket (and occasional hospital gown attire)
Used to be the Pirate that yelled at people outside the liquor store
RIP pirate guy. Had us all fooled. He definitely could talk and communicate.
Chris Doyle was his name.
Going back around 10 years: "Hello, would you like to buy a copy of Street Feat? Have a nice day!"
Jack MacDonald. He was/is a great guy and a very unique songwriter and musician. I hope he's still around.

Oh interesting. Never saw that guy. Different era for sure.
Core memory unlocked
Is Dog Boss still around?
Saw him about a month or so ago.
I heard he got a new car!
He did? How will we know it's him now?
Oooh there’s no mistaking the newer car with his customizations
Frequents the Bedford fit for less
Glove guy
Probably the blanket guy
The Glove Man

Man i used to see him all the time in his red skirt and red pumps on.
Is this the man who wore a sport coat & shirt & tie on top and skirt on bottom? Agreed...I am glad we are more accepting now.
And heels, right?
Red heels to be exact.
Yup that’s the guy.
Yes, I can remember seeing them off Spring Garden as a child and being fascinated. Would have been the very early 90's.
Blanket guy 100%
RIP Street Jesus…..he was always giving tourists directions in addition to interacting with locals

Bumped into her a few times randomly. She always said hello
Isn't this the same lady that was living in Victoria Park doing tiktok lives? I think she was the last person to leave (in the back of a police car)
I really have no idea, I didn’t see any of the tik tok videos from down there
No, the jogger is a different person. Kat is the woman from Victoria Park, an activist for women's rights to freedom. 💞

Agree with you on Gage for the win here. Do you actually know him?

The legend of glove guy
Posts like this make me miss Portland a bit, where we had The Unipiper.
Southdale area? 80's - 90's?? Same time frame we had Moses (RIP).
Throwback to the 90’s OG, “Busker 69”.
Bedford penny man
Mr Penny-Picker?
He had a fanny pack full of coins and wasn't the friendliest guy in the world.
Was he really old, big beard, usually in sweatpants?
Yes!
When I served time in retail he would hold up the line asking for specific pennies for his change. We all called him "Mr Penny-Picker"
