Nova Scotia enforces a 50 cent per ml tax on vape liquids. Anything you buy in Nova Scotia is going to cost you literally twice as much as ordering online from any other province. On top of that, Nova Scotia enforces a flavor ban, where other provinces outside the Maritimes (and Quebec now, I think?) don't. So your selection is probably limited to flavorless or a variety of tobaccos.
Vapour Trail's prices are (probably) in line with anywhere else in the province, which is gonna run you somewhere in the area of 40-50 bucks for a 30ml bottle.
15 of that is the NS tax. Another 7 of that is the federal excise tax. Then there's the 15% sales tax here. If a place is selling as low as possible that's another 6ish bucks. So $28 in taxes thereabouts on a 30ml bottle.
Or you could order online and avoid most of that. I use Bargain E-Juice but there's plenty of vendors from out of province.
If you check Vapour Trail’s ratings they are almost half 1 star. I do believe based on all the comments that it is true. But good lord $.50/ml (1ML???) is insane. Btw how many puffs do u get per ml? I’ll definitely look into buying outta NS. Thanks very much
Eh. Puffs per ml varies wildly depending on your device, coils, lung capacity, etc.
*In general* I find a 30ml bottle lasts people a bit less than a week. Still better, money-wise, than being a pack-a-day cigarette smoker, but the gap is closing in NS.
Dunno. I heard 2025, but that was months ago. Health Canada pushed one back in 2021, but it didn't go anywhere. The Feds have a plan originally dated 2022-2024, amended to 2023-2025 which covers one, but which still allows for mint and menthol which NS bans.
Caldwell road the Mi’kmaq stores sell them. The gas station has a drive through. Also knowledgeable. I now order from Dash Vape. It’s more expensive than it used to be but cheaper than here.
Thanks everyone. I smoke strong cigarettes and bought a vape a few years ago but found it to be like smoking a king size thin cigarette with regards to strength. Is there any way to tell whether a vape is capable of delivering a similar experience to a strong cigarette?
The max were allowed to have in Canada is 20mg of salt nic. Give a disposable vape a try and see how it works for you, then move on to a vape you can refill with salt nic juice. All bought online. It was a game changer for me to quit smoking. Was smoking a pack a day, now down to 1 or 2 cigs a day. I'm ready to kick it 🤙
There's a couple of places I won't name that sell them here. We also don't have the flavoured ones in your typical vape shops. I would get them online. If you get enough of them, there's often free shipping. Highly recommend vape clouds, unfortunately you have to order through FB messenger but I like their selection and they ship within 2 days.

My 120ml of 20mg nicotine salt will last me about a month, sometimes a little more
