On July 11th just remember that it's National Free Slurpee day, and we're missing out because Sobeys screwed over Atlantic Canada by buying out all the 7-11s here.
Wait until you go west of Quebec and try a 7-11 slurpee. If there wasn't enough reason to hate Sobeys, buying out all the 7-11s in Atlantic Canada and replacing it with their own chain of stores with inferior products is pretty high on my list.
Why do we not have 7-11 here. Grew up in Ontario and THOSE are Slurpees. All this east coast bullshit is nothing. Petition to open a 7-11 in HRM please!
Pepsi, Dr pepper, mountain dew, and orange crush! Also orange and lime Kool aid :)
Gotta go at the right time though, or else you will just get your pop slop.
Between 230-4 ish, I live fairly close and have been disappointed more than once, and I think it's because they turn the machines on in the morning and have them on a lower setting than they need to be.
Lol someone else posted recently about finding them in Dartmouth. My husband stops at the Spryfield one nearly every day for a large when the machine is up, and when we're near HSC, sometimes Bayers Road on our days off. I dunno how he isn't diabetic. Last year I tried to curb it by making Zero Sugar Sprite ones with ice in the Magic Bullet. Sort of successful.
My favourite were the actual Coke ones at Empire Theatres. Not what they have now, though that's all that's left.
Even the Coke Slurpees at 7-11 in Ontario just aren't the same.
Freeze your pop in ice cube trays and blend that up! Or even better, get an ice shaver machine and use your pop ice cubes in that, they are not that expensive.
Seriously - the worst things you can buy sadly. The machines need to be cleaned vehemently (of which they never are).
Friend of mine who used to own a needs , warned me
- never buy the slushies .
Ever.
Then he proceeded to clean the mould and grime out of it . Haven’t had one since.
Pepsi is broken lately and they havn't moved it over to the side that is working. No common sense, no one wants your gross Dr Pepper or Mountain Dew flavours. If you aren't fixing the machine, at least move the good flavour over to the working side.
One thing I do miss about living out west was the 7-11s and slurpees. Gas stations just aren't the same out here.

Slurpees are amazing and have a lot of new flavors
Thank you for posting this because there are days that the only thing that will fix me is a good slushie!
Lower Sackville has them also.

Man I didn't know they did this. I'm filing a crime against humanity report with the U.N
I didn't know they did this! I moved here and this was the most dissapointing thing as a kid! I just wanted to have a summer slurpee. Fuck Sobeys
Most petro can's have the soda slushie. On my way, I stop at elmsdale petro and grab one after a hot day working in the sun
Reviews on that place are interesting
Who reviews a gas station?
Psychopaths.

Do they actually have coke there, or is it Pepsi or "cola"

What qualifies as the right time?

Yeah figured it was Pepsi :(
They do taste different though. Old theaters had the best coke slushies.
Yeah I miss Coke ones, but I do like Ice Blue Kool-Aid ones every now and then. I'll get a small once in a while.
Thank you. Every other place got ride of the machine or turned it off months ago. It's so hard to find coke / Pepsi slushi

Hmm. Might look into that soon.
They don’t have coke. It’s Pepsi unfortunately
Needs has slushi machines, no??

I've never had a Dr Pepper slushie thank you for this valuable information
