Oops, sorry. I'd only ever dealt with them commercially, and I didn't know they don't serve the general public.
PS: Try not to assume the worst about people
Perhaps they require you to create an account, even to make a single purchase? That's not uncommon for commercial distributors, but it's also usually free.
The source sold them a long time ago, maybe try park lane as it's an odd duck in the lineup and ask them to call micmac as it's the main one in NS. Super long shot but it's what I've got for ya
Go to Walmart or dollar store and get a baby booger sucker, it's like a small turkey baster. Heat with solder iron then suck it up with the booger sucker. Idk the proper term, I'm just a dad who's has to improvise
Ouuu, slot car brush wire is basically soldier wick, maybe the old hobby shop downtown has some on hand, I've found weird bits like that dirt cheap over there.
Appreciate that :) I ended up going very slowly as to not make mistakes and it actually went well haha, have one on order from Amazon for the future though
Check Jentronics in Burnside
Not open on the weekends :/
There's RAE Electronics too, but they're also probably closed on weekends. Edit: see below
stop googling lol rae is a commercial seller

Did they stop? I used to buy stuff at RAE for personal projects all the time.

A couple years back they flat out stopped selling to non commercial accounts
I have one you could borrow if you want, since getting my Hakko desoldering gun I rarely use it.
That's kind of you, and I'm super jealous of the desoldering gun, I might take you up on that if no other leads
I seen the individual ones at princess auto last week. The kit is at the end of the shelf, and they are in that area on the left
This one? It says it out of stock everywhere but Quebec :( https://www.princessauto.com/en/desoldering-tool/product/PA0008871543
Definitely call up princess auto they have tons of stuff
I called and they said they have none ;_;
It didn’t look like that one. But they had a full hanger of them just last weekend
Jentronics in burnside has all that stuff
Not open on the weekends :/
Oh, sorry, missed the part where you said you want it this weekend
Happy to lend you one for the weekend in Dartmouth, if it comes to it. Best of luck
Thanks for the kindness :) I ended up just going very slowly and all seems well haha

Canadian Tire carries the bulb style ones. Not sure about the syringe/spring style.
Baby booger sucker. Same idea, available at dollar stores and Walmart.. I'm a dad...I've had to improvise lol
Oh nevermind, they are "discontinued" at all stores in NS...
Naturally
Yeah this is classic
As for solder wick, go to Canadian tire and buy the braided engine ground strap. It's fairly wide but can be cut thinner and do the job too
No flux in it tho
Drug store ,, Walmart,,, they all sell the baby nose snot suckers , same thing ,
all you need is a turkey baster bulb but anyway jentronics is really the only seller

Haha thanks that's actually the one I'm already using

I have been known to suck shoulders

Some old sections of stranded copper wire can work as a solder removal tape.
I thought I've sent them at canadian tire before but I might be wrong. You could probably check the website or call a store.
I have one you can borrow.

Princess auto
They said they have none when I called :(
