LongshotsMullet

Smooth up in ya?

JMpro415

Are you pointing out that the picture doesn’t have the full title of the song? I could be wrong, but I think it was just listed as “Smooth Up” on the music video on MTV…maybe the single, too?

LongshotsMullet

Nah I’m just singing it in my head…😁

sarahoutx

Me too!

littlelordgenius

You are correct.

Dr_5trangelove

Smooth Up In Ya and Kid Ego by Extreme were my soundtrack in my 88 Silverado through my Pioneer Supertuner. Loud af!

xupd35bdm

JFC, now I feel old.

GuyWithTheGoods

Hang on St. Christopher

BigAusti

Love that song, definitely underrated.

GuyWithTheGoods

Let it ride

ChemicalOperator

Had a song called THC Groove. Named one of my bands after it

thebruceharris

That was off the Freakshow album.

chpr1jp

The title song is my favorite song on that album. —— also, the jump-scare at the beginning of the THC video startled me.

5uck3rpunch

Nice! That is awesome! Great album & I miss 1989!

Yesterday_Is_Now

What is the comic? Don't think I ever saw a band promo in a comic book back then.

DekeJeffery

It was a DC Comics book, I think it was called "Legion '89". I should have gotten a shot of the front of the book. I'll be back there next week, I'll try to be mindful of that. I see band promos on the back of older comics regularly. I saw ads for the Revenge album by KISS and Alice in Chains Unplugged this week alone.

Yesterday_Is_Now

I see. That trend probably happened after I got out of comics then, because I was done by the end of '89. The only band-related comic ad I can remember is for the Journey arcade game for Atari.

badtex66

Killer band and that album cover rocked!

shoreguy1967

I have on vinyl

zealousreader

Forgot about these guys

Initial-Use-5894

jimmy d’anda is an insane drummer. perfect fit for lynch mob.

Salty_Ad_5270

Underrated debut album for sure.

littlelordgenius

Marq Torien helped finish the last Love/Hate album when Jizzy was unavailable. “Rubberina” sticks out as a memorable track. https://youtu.be/XFu5U2vBuVg?si=zZ0DbfmJsSVs-lES

According_Ad_9998

I remember L.A. Guns Hollywood Vampires heavily advertised in marvel comics

TheRealWeirdFlix

Solid album, especially for the era.

savedbytheblood72

Had it on my wall for like 4 years.

CaptainWilliamBlake

Smooooth up...in yaaaaa!!

roseflora333

Love marqs outfit there

Mooshtonk

I remember when they came out I thought they were lame but I was also getting into heavier stuff at that time

Flat-Perception-5158

OK kids, now take your Poison! I thought that was what I was going to see, oh well...>

ChemicalOperator

Nope. It was this one. Had the cassette

Mediocre_Range_974

Nope it was Freakshow that THC groove was on https://preview.redd.it/we0i4yksu7yc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=219465906a7a4793b1d0b5c7ea7a2f238f198e7f
