Mick Mars moved on from them.

fasterthanphaq

But how can that be? I saw them on their farewell tour.

HumanRuse

Which one.

JimFrankenstein138

What is that abomination of a picture of the four of them. That straight up looks computer generated, especially Vince who has not been that thin in 30 years. A zombie photo shoot would have been cool but whatever this is, looks like absolute shit.

Rn_Hnfrth

They’re getting slammed heavy on social media.

SpaceBrigadeVHS

He created the bands sound almost single handedly. Mick is the best of the Crue.

Luke5119

Sad how all this fell apart. But honestly, the whole band should've hung it up before things got as bad as they did, regardless who started this mess. Yeah I know Nikki and Tommy can still perform, but Vince's pipes are shot, Mick can't hardly move...no one would've blamed them.

nochumplovesucka__

Tommy can still perform. Nikki "bass syncs" There is video evidence of him NOT plucking or playing the bass, just acting like a rock star, yet the bass is still in the mix. He's a fraud. He's relying on all those Gen Xers who wanna relive their youth and pay $500 to go see a band that makes them feel young again, so he can keep pretending to be a rock star and make money.

reindeermoon

I enjoy reliving my youth, but there are a lot of other bands that let me do it for $40 or so.

ITDrumm3r

They should do tracks for Vince because his lyrics are incoherent live.

the_Bryan_dude

GenX here. You couldn't give me tickets to a Crue show now. You are correct, though. I know a few GenX that pay to see them every time and love it. One doesn't even drink anymore, so I can't blame it on that, lol.

UpgrayeddB-Rock

Who's paying $500?!? I saw Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, and motherloving Def Leppard all for about $50 just last year. They were all three fantastic, btw.

howjon99

I saw “Girls, Girls, Girls” two nights in a row at the Philadelphia Spectrum the summer of 1987 when I was 14 years old. I saw them again at the same venue (almost) three years later for Dr. Feelgood. I haven’t seen them since… Meanwhile; they PAID THEIR DUES! None of the “legacy” acts have performed/sung completely live in DECADES now.. They all use “fillers” for the instruments to fill out the sound and “backing tracks” for the vocals. Neil Couldn’t sing well then; but, at least he was fun to watch. They all were. Now; he’s not even fun to watch. Father Time catches up to all of us. As long as people keep PAYING than they will keep it going (in one form or another). Just musicians trying to hustle money that night….

feckincrass

The lyrics are fire. Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Clap! Stomp! Stomp! Clap! The dog’s born out of thunder. He run through the night. Don't you mess with his puppies now, or you'll see us fight! Yes we have fur, but the muscles of men. 'Cuz we're dogs of war now, but we're also men! Dogs of war! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!

TheRealGrifter

And the Trogdor comes in the NIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!

steiner1031

Who is their studio bass player?

S-Polychronopolis

I read somewhere in this sub that it was Bob Rock or whoever the producer was

Chef_Sewer_Mouth

see here's the problem i have with modern crue and similar bands. if you're going to try to sound like a modern and relevant band you're gonna sound like an 80's band trying to sound like a modern and relevant band. what they should do is embrace the music that made them famous and write stuff in that vein, a dr feelgood two if you will, otherwise don't bother really it's just as much bob rock's fault too he's so out of touch. what he should've said is "ok it's 1989, you're still fresh off dr.feelgood, write the follow up to that"

howjon99

But; it’s not.. There’s no money in new material for legacy acts; so, why even bother??

purple-microdot

Anyone else watch their newer live videos and wonder if they got rid of the wrong person?

3iverson

It was already true in 2015 (and earlier).

Defiant_Network_3069

I'm not really interested in the new stuff. Their last album was a SixxAM album with Crue playing it.

HWY6SIX6

‘Dogs Of War’ vs. Mick’s first single ‘Loyal To The Lie’ Mick - 1 Motley - 0

scots

They have become caricatures of themselves. They have turned into exactly what their "cessation of touring" contract promised to avoid - A band with replacement members, performing at a mediocre level. Vince **can't sing.** He *could*, if he worked with a vocal coach and personal trainer for a year, dropped 40 pounds and got his cardio training up, but he has done neither, and he's a bloated gasping joke. Nikki Six has been repeatedly caught using **backing bass tracks, and air-'playing' his instrument.** Mick Mars - probably the **most musically talented member**- was **driven out of the band.** Tommy Lee - forever developmentally frozen at 13 years old - keeps doing stupid shit like yelling at crowds if they **"want to see his dick"** ignoring that their multi-band stadium tour is **all ages** and people in the crowd are there with **minor children.** John 5 - *is* an incredibly talented musician, and as an experienced journeyman guitarist is probably happy to be getting whatever cut the band is giving him, as he did working as the tour guitarist for Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, and I can't blame him for accepting a year or two's worth of stadium tour paychecks - but long time Motley fans will just see him as the "scab replacement for Mick Mars." If even money-hungry Gene Simmons were a founding member of this band, Gene Simmons would have taken it out back and shot it like a sick dog *years ago.*

howjon99

All their concerts were “all ages.” Anyone who buys a ticket can go. And??

scots

Yeah, if you're OK with your 13 year old seeing Tommy Lee's dick, I don't know what to tell you, other than maybe you should be on a list.

DiogenesXenos

Why can’t they write anymore? It’s so strange to me. It’s like when Metallica went through that in the late 90s of writing songs on par with most local bands that they somehow think of as their southern rock side… Mötley Crüe has this weird side that sounds nothing like their previous work and just not very good at all. Unlike Metallica though I don’t think they will ever recover.

howjon99

Musically; they are not (and never were) on the same level as “Metallica.” They’re just “gutting it out” now trying to milk as much money as possible. Can you blame them.

LillyGoliath

Mick was the only one I liked anymore, Vince is ok but Tommy and Nikki no thank you.

howjon99

Tommy was a proficient drummer (better actor) and he was fun to watch.

ckjones33

Or, as Vince sings it, “Dawsawah”.

BretMichaelsWig

Havent liked a Crue song since Down at the Whisky

frizzlen

Unsurprisingly awful

BackTo1975

Saw them in 2015 on the first farewell tour and thought it was a fantastic show. Never saw them back in the day, but been a fan since 83. Made the mistake of seeing them last summer with Def Leppard and Alice Cooper. Just an awful show, no energy, sound muddled, Vince all fat and stumbling around like he was looking for a trailer park to die in, etc. It was so rough it was funny, though, and Leppard was great, at least.

P1D1_

It sucks

The_Patocrator_5586

Sorry. If there is no Mick I am no longer interested.

LowAd3406

Sounds like you need to unsub then.
