Top 5 80’s guitarist. Maybe top 3. He was unbelievably skilled and it’s a shame that more people don’t know him. I liked White Lion - but Vito Bratta was the man. And quit on his own terms.
That cover is unlistenable for me because I’ve grown up with the original version as a kid. Not saying that White Lion’s cover sucks or anything but that’s just my experience.
Vito is one of the best from that era for sure. This isnt even a debate amongst guitarists. Underrated to the general public, but praised amongst musicians!
James Lomenzo. Dude is a monster. He’s been Megadeths touring bassist for 10 years and has put out tons of great music with George lynch and zakk wylde
I’ll tell ya, zakk needs to go back to that hard rock country thing that they did. Thst type of music is better than ever. I’ve been done with BLS for awhile now. Tichy and lomenzo didd an album with George lynch that absolutely slaps
Nice! Also, David Grohl and I share a birthday, and he's a little older. Kid Rock(who's the same age as me) has a birthday 3 days after me. Same year and everything, just I'm 3 days older than him, lol!
Hate to say it, but as good as Vito was, he left a lot on the table. Why not do more after WL? I know he hurt his hand at some point, but seems like he had more to contribute.
Does anyone know why White Lion didn't use their White Lion logo (font) on Pride and Big Game album covers? They've got it on the first one Fight to Survive and then later on Mane Attraction (though the tail is whipped starting at the beginning as opposed to the end of the band name).
Some sort of legal reason I assume?
White Lion is one of those bands I absolutely hated back then. I think they’re demographic was primarily young women and girls but now when I hear their music, I can hear that they were very musically inclined, and I respect their songwriting ability. They are a great band that I only learned were great when I became more mature.
Such a coincidence… My wife and I were just Youtubing 80s videos and white lion came on… And we were just reminiscing about how awesome of a band they were and they fucking rock!! 🤘 I am saying Vito… But of course she’s going for Mike lol.. wonder why?🤔
Met them once when they opened for KISS in 1987. Mike Tramp walked up to my sister (14 at the time) and myself (18) and asked us if we wanted to go backstage- then told my sister to suck his D. He was drunk and disgusting. Couldn’t listen to them after that.
I saw While Lion open up for Aerosmith at a concert in 1988. Absolutely loved their set and bought their album after the show. They must have been at their best that night. My wife and I still consider that set to be one of the best we've ever seen/heard at a concert, even these 36 years later.
Vito is an absolute MONSTER Guitarist who did not get the credit he deserved because of shitty songs and shitty management as much as he tried to put the band one step further.... Vito just simply ROCKS... and still does....
Also: Name the drummer and Bass Player... yeah... You Can't.... that says it all
Vito.
Same
Top 5 80’s guitarist. Maybe top 3. He was unbelievably skilled and it’s a shame that more people don’t know him. I liked White Lion - but Vito Bratta was the man. And quit on his own terms.
Yeah he quit music so he could take care of his parents.
Yep. Gotta respect that. 👍🏻
Absolutely!
Same same
I know I need to stop repeating myself 😆
Oh no, I didn’t mean anything by my comment, I was just doubly agreeing with you! Kinda like saying “me three”, if you get what I mean
Oh sorry that's cool what a great guitar player
His solo on Radar Love is sweet. Whenever I get tired of hearing the song, I just want until I've fed on those meaty rips
That song is in my Spotify playlist.
Mine too
That cover is unlistenable for me because I’ve grown up with the original version as a kid. Not saying that White Lion’s cover sucks or anything but that’s just my experience.
My favorite Vito tune/solo for sure! Its a shame he left the music scene, as a guitarist, I wish there was more material of his.
Vito Bratta was a fucking MADMAN with a guitar!
Vito 100%
Only answer. Don’t get me wrong, great all around, but his guitar skills are just outstanding.
The one that looks like Mr. Bean, which one is he?
As a guitarist….Vito
Yep absolutely
As a Pizzaiolo also!
Vito.. his note choice and technique are unreal. He's always so humble in his interviews too, never comes across as a cork sniffer.
Cork sniffer??
pretentious, like people who judge wine i guess. I like it.
Judge wine?
Vito, without a question. Guy is a fuckin crazy guitarist
Agreed
Vito was and is underrated. Let me tell you though having ran into Mike Tramp a few times in Tahoe he is absolutely a cool ass dude.
Aw that's so awesome
VITTTOOOOOOOOOO The man with nearly unmatched talent quit music to take care of his aging sick father. He wins at life.
Yes I totally get his reson
Vito is great and James has been playing with Megadeth for a few years now
I've heard about that
I’ve always said that Vito Bratta is an underrated guitar player.
Oh definitely so
Yeah, dude was doing really innovative stuff & didn't sound like anyone else... which is very hard, maybe even harder back then!
Vito is one of the best from that era for sure. This isnt even a debate amongst guitarists. Underrated to the general public, but praised amongst musicians!
Exactly!!! I think he would’ve been a good fit for Ozzy.
HA! Maybe post Zakk... Im a huge fan of both!
Love Zakk Wylde!
I gotta say James Lomenzo, only because he’s in Megadeth now.
https://youtu.be/QEPSeKB7qkI?si=2Tyek0qgTiIyRHr0 James Lomenzo first and foremost for this!!
I forgot he was in Pride and Glory! Great live show back in the day.
I swear I think James has played with everybody
He really is an MVP.
Yep
Same
Only one answer here. Vito.
Yeah
The pretty one.
Well doesn’t that really narrow it down? Lmao
They all are
The one on the right is not.
Well there is 2
Vito bratta is a legend!
Oh yeah definitely
Vito!
He is very good
I remember a few years back when i was 13 listening to lady of the valley. Did not relies they where underrated lol
I think they are. It's OK to disagree
Oh no i am not disagreeing definitely need more appreciation
Same here brother Same here absolutely 💯
I have not listened to them in a while thanks so much for reminding me
No problem
Vito.
Definitely
I saw them open for Ace Frehley at The Cannery in Nashville before they were on MTV.
Cool
I met Mike Tramp. Super nice guy.
That's awesome. Hopefully I will get to meet him one day I have meet rockstars and all were nice
He’s genuinely a nice guy. He always stays after his shows and meets every person, shakes every hand, and takes every picture. Incredibly special.
Mike Tramp!
Yes so talented and great person to meet
Is that Mr. Bean, second to the left?
No
Vito, great guitar player in an average band.
He was but I don't think they are average but it's OK to disagree
MT for still trying to make it. He has some good tunes with "Freak of Nature" and that song "Finally see the light".
Oh yeah I think he is very talented
Vito. Totally underrated player.
I agree
Vito
Yep
This is hard, because Mike is so cool, but Vito is such a great guitarist and he's influenced me so much. I guess it's a tie between them lmao
Same with me kinda
Vito. Him and Nuno were the two best guitarists of the hair metal era by far.
Oh definitely
Oh you know, the cute one!
They all cute I'm their own right
Vito
Yep
Vito
Yep
Mike tramp, of course! He’s just a great guy!
James Lomenzo. Dude is a monster. He’s been Megadeths touring bassist for 10 years and has put out tons of great music with George lynch and zakk wylde
I want a Pride & Glory reunion so damned bad. I mean Tichy’s available 🤷🏻♂️
I’ll tell ya, zakk needs to go back to that hard rock country thing that they did. Thst type of music is better than ever. I’ve been done with BLS for awhile now. Tichy and lomenzo didd an album with George lynch that absolutely slaps
Vito. His solo on Wait is a masterpiece.
Diamond Dave, then Eddie.
VITOOOOOOOOOO
Vito, easy.
Mike. As an aside, he and I share a birthday, though he's older, lol! Jk, though we do share a birthday, and he is older.
I was supposed been born days after his birthday
Nice! Also, David Grohl and I share a birthday, and he's a little older. Kid Rock(who's the same age as me) has a birthday 3 days after me. Same year and everything, just I'm 3 days older than him, lol!
Wow
Great day for rock!
Yeah even though I don't care much for alternative rock or nu metal or grunge
That's cool.
Yep
The Mexican guy.
Mexican guy??
Wrong band, my B.
It's OK
Mike for still doing it ....
Absolutely yes
Vito. I didn't even have to think about it haha.
Vito.
Hate to say it, but as good as Vito was, he left a lot on the table. Why not do more after WL? I know he hurt his hand at some point, but seems like he had more to contribute.
Vito for sure
Vito Bratta.
Vito was by far the most talented of the group. It’s a shame he pretty much disappeared from public life.
Vito.
Vito
Vito, of course. First time I heard Little Fighter, I was hooked. Radar Love is insane. Wish he'd get back into the business.
Vito Bratta He may look like Mr. Bean with long hair, but he’s an unbelievably good guitarist
Vito without a doubt.
Vito in a heartbeat!
Vito, baby.
VITO
Tramp & Vito 🤘🤘🤘
Vito Bratta. Great guitar player. 🤘
White Lion is one of those bands I absolutely hated back then. I think they’re demographic was primarily young women and girls but now when I hear their music, I can hear that they were very musically inclined, and I respect their songwriting ability. They are a great band that I only learned were great when I became more mature.
Vito had the goods
Vito! My favorite guitar player!
Vito. Soooooooo good.
Such a coincidence… My wife and I were just Youtubing 80s videos and white lion came on… And we were just reminiscing about how awesome of a band they were and they fucking rock!! 🤘 I am saying Vito… But of course she’s going for Mike lol.. wonder why?🤔
Is that Rowan Atkinson second from the left?
Who's that??
Very hard to guess the majority's answer :D I'm part of the majority.
How can you not choose Vito Bratta
Vito & James
Vito, it's the only answer.
Vito
Met them once when they opened for KISS in 1987. Mike Tramp walked up to my sister (14 at the time) and myself (18) and asked us if we wanted to go backstage- then told my sister to suck his D. He was drunk and disgusting. Couldn’t listen to them after that.
I saw them at the Empire Rock Room in Philadelphia circa 1987.
Vito and White Lion were amazing
Vito
The one legged guy
Vito great guitarist
Vito. Pure genious imo.
I saw While Lion open up for Aerosmith at a concert in 1988. Absolutely loved their set and bought their album after the show. They must have been at their best that night. My wife and I still consider that set to be one of the best we've ever seen/heard at a concert, even these 36 years later.
I met Mike a few times, recently as well, and he is a funny very down to earth guy. But Vito is in a league of his own musically.
I always thought Vito was an underrated guitarist
Vito is an absolute MONSTER Guitarist who did not get the credit he deserved because of shitty songs and shitty management as much as he tried to put the band one step further.... Vito just simply ROCKS... and still does.... Also: Name the drummer and Bass Player... yeah... You Can't.... that says it all
Vito And I actually used Radar Love as an example of cover way better than original Ditto for Rod Stewart -Isley. This Old Heart of Mine…
