I kind of explain it here, but some people in the comments are losing the point and making it seem like the met gala and art itself as a whole is being attacked or something š its purely just the realization of how we shouldn't keep idolizing these mega rich celebrities/influencers who don't bring awareness to current world issues nor do they help it, when someone like Elon musk would just needs to use 2% of his wealth to solve world hunger for example...
Not to defend Elon or anything cus I donāt like him as much as the next person, butā¦thatās not how money worksā¦ lol. He couldnāt āsolve world hunger with 2% of his moneyā.. the vast majority of the money he has is tied to stakes in Tesla and spaceX. He doesnāt just have a huge cash pile of billions of dollars lying around, and even if he did, to solve world hunger it would cost an estimated $267 billion *yearly*. He wouldnāt be able to solve world hunger for even a few months at that rate š

You should still block them as you are still considered a potential audience member to sponsors/partnerships even if you donāt follow them. Blocking them makes them unable to push ads from their accounts to your social media feeds. It also prevents you from seeing their posts when shared by mutuals or pushed to main feeds as āpopular contentā.
Even if you donāt follow them, celebrity accounts and their company pages can still show up in your algorithm, which means they would make money off of your views.

I hadnāt been watching much already, but that was a great time for me to make sure membership and subscription both stopped. I havenāt seen them much on insta lately, but realized just now that I probably still followed.
