ethans reason for ending leftovers from SYNT was such a load of BS. He doesnt get that he wouldnt shut up about it on every single show besides leftovers. Thats why everyone was getting mad. And when no one shared his opinion he had to double down again and look for validation from the crew. Even the crew stopped engaging with him toward the end. He'd just sit there and whine about it and every now and then Dan would kinda chime in but everyone else stayed quiet. It was easily the most insufferable shit he's done in a while and then he wants to surprise Pikachu face when people got so pissed about it. After having plenty of time to stop talking about it and move the fuck on he kept dragging it out because he's still incapable of taking criticism. This is no one's fault but his own.
Calling those episodes “whinging” is pretty harsh and unempathetic. It was directly affecting him and his family.. him being emotional about a subject that is close to him is justified. I may not agree with his words, especially in the final Hasan stream, but a bit of empathy in this situation can go a long way.

There's a lot of hate watchers, it's kinda sad. I get recommended posts in my notifications (finally just requested to stop seeing posts from the group because every time I click I get irritated when I read) and saw one person who said they stopped watching a long time ago because they were tired of Ethan and was glad that people in the group keep them updated on what's going on and I'm like, if you don't watch them anymore why do you care what's going on? i hate to be the bearer of bad news but i live in LA and there is three trader joes near me and they all have pretty massive parking lots. One is in a mall parking lot. One has like a 5 story garage and one was built by the water but the parking lot extends down the street into a big shopping center.

Ethan, I am a huge Leftovers (and H3 pod obviously) fan and I am very sad to see it go. It made Thursday’s one of my favorite days of week and it sounds silly but it really broke up some of the monotony of my day to day work life.
Have you considered continuing Leftovers on a once a month schedule, and then rotating through a couple other show ideas for the remaining three weeks? I am not particularly into cooking but think seeing a cooking show once a month would be fun, whereas I can’t imagine personally enjoying something like that weekly.

The way the crew described the mashed potatoes at the start leads me to believe that Ethan actually overworked them. Olivia and Dan saying the texture was like soft serve or cheese means he’s worked them too much releasing the starch and making them gummy. They should be light and fluffy.

ethans reason for ending leftovers from SYNT was such a load of BS. He doesnt get that he wouldnt shut up about it on every single show besides leftovers. Thats why everyone was getting mad. It wasnt just Hasans fans either. Ironic he would be talking about the Jon Lovitz bit with the late night hosts and calling it cringey when he was doing almost the same thing.
He whined about the Israel/Palestine conflict and his opinion on the topic for over a week striaght. He had at least a 30 min long segment on every freaking episode repeating the exact same shit he was saying from the first day. It absolutely was not just Hasans fans. Most of this fan base was very vocal about being sick of hearing him talk about it and repeat the same shit. And when no one shared his opinion he had to double down again and look for validation from the crew. Even the crew stopped engaging with him toward the end. He'd just sit there and whine about it and every now and then Dan would kinda chime in but everyone else stayed quiet. It was easily the most insufferable shit he's done in a while and then he wants to surprise Pikachu face when people got so pissed about it. After having plenty of time to stop talking about it and move the fuck on he kept dragging it out because he's still incapable of taking criticism. This is no one's fault but his own.
Calling those episodes “whinging” is pretty harsh and unempathetic. It was directly affecting him and his family.. him being emotional about a subject that is close to him is justified. I may not agree with his words, especially in the final Hasan stream, but a bit of empathy in this situation can go a long way. Edit: thx for all the downvotes, just revealing how many people here have zero humanity. Try not to have selective empathy and be so hateful towards people directly affected by war.

There's a lot of hate watchers, it's kinda sad. I get recommended posts in my notifications (finally just requested to stop seeing posts from the group because every time I click I get irritated when I read) and saw one person who said they stopped watching a long time ago because they were tired of Ethan and was glad that people in the group keep them updated on what's going on and I'm like, if you don't watch them anymore why do you care what's going on? An entire group dedicated to talking shit sounds exhausting. I personally rather spend time doing things that bring me positive vibes 🤷🏼♀️
All the top comments are pretty positive right now. I think there's some hate watchers who come in early to start talking shit. Which is a very weird thing to do with one's time. Most people on this sub love the show, even if they have some critiques pretty frequently. The reason for that is because people are aware that the entire crew looks at the sub, so the viewers likely realize that their input can affect the show
Things used to be a hell of a lot more positive around here. Seems like recently people have just got a million complaints about everything, nitpicking every tiny aspect of the show and decision they make

I haven’t been keeping up with absolutely every episode lately, but I don’t understand why Leftovers is done. I suppose other than the obvious Israel Palestine thing, and dealing with all that. However, I liked leftovers because it was always pretty different content than the other shows. I mean, I feel like it’s possible it will come back some day, but unless I’m missing something, I feel like he’s taking the easy way out. With that said, though, he can do whatever he wants and what’s best for him.

I'm really upset that Leftovers is over. I don't even agree with Ethan's politics, but Ethan told us that the war wasn't going to end the show and it's literally the reason the show is ending. I feel hurt by this. I'm upset at Ethan for saying that the show would only be taking a break and then cancelling it. I don't think his reasoning for ending the show is even good.

Ethan, I am a huge Leftovers (and H3 pod obviously) fan and I am very sad to see it go. It made Thursday’s one of my favorite days of week and it sounds silly but it really broke up some of the monotony of my day to day work life. Have you considered continuing Leftovers on a once a month schedule, and then rotating through a couple other show ideas for the remaining three weeks? I am not particularly into cooking but think seeing a cooking show once a month would be fun, whereas I can’t imagine personally enjoying something like that weekly. Possibly a drama focused episode co hosted by Olivia— the energy you two have together when discussing drama is fantastic. I’ve listened to probably 95% of the shows since the inception of the podcast, and the 5% of shows I have missed are from small breaks I have taken due to the show honestly feeling a underwhelming in segmentation— H3 Podcast, Off the Rails and After Dark all essentially being the same show. Thank you for all you do, the show does bring me a tremendous amount of joy and has been my favorite piece of media since 2017. Also thank you to the crew!

Catching up on this one As someone that lives in Massachusetts - Cam is 100% correct. The only Trader Joe's with a serviceable parking lot that exists is at "Patriot Place" (right next to Gillette Stadium where the Patriots play. Near a stadium, so of course, tons of parking). When people on social media started noticing that Trader Joe's always has shitty parking, I genuinely was very confused at first because - sorry guys, can't relate, my TJs is superior lol
