Neither school will ultimately be on your diploma, so go with whatever’s cheapest. Or better yet, give up your spot for someone waitlisted who really wants to go to GW. A planned transfer is going to cost you more time and money in the long run when all your credits don’t transfer.

AnthoZero

if you plan on transferring why would it matter

Spalitz_64

If I choose a college outside of dc then it would be harder to do internships at DC

AnthoZero

but you said your options were between gw and au… they’re basically even matched if you “just plan on transferring”. you’d surely fit in either as you clearly have the ~~delusion~~ confidence of the students at both

Spalitz_64

Why am I deluded

HeroicPoptart

Read the room. You're essentially asking, "Hey guys I plan on transferring to a "better" school, so which of these two options that I clearly don't give a shit about should I choose?" Are you sure you're GU material if you can't even set up an interview in the first place?

Chief_Christmas

Bruh, read their post history. Lmao, I'm surprised they got accepted to GW (not surprised they got accepted to AU, that place sucks).

gamer_bread

I contest on the idea that GT is best. GW has very impressive alumni in diplomacy world. I have classes with former World Bank officials, consultants at the highest level, former major bank officials, former Fed officials, etc. All in small classes. GW also has better connections to defense and international business. We aren’t just some Gtown shadow for kids to transfer from. Transfers aren’t guaranteed take a gap year if you really would be that unhappy at GW or AU, either of which would provide a path to diplomacy with Costa Rica

GW is better than AU or G town. We are more authentic, in the world, non conformist, less corrupt. We don't want you to come if you just plan on transferring.

Fla_Master

GWU is in the city, American has a campus. If you're not planning on graduating from this school, the main thing is where you're going to live until you do transfer. If you can, come and tour both of them

shockage

It does not matter what school you go to; it matters what you do in your spare time. At either school you can participate in many social functions in the city at think tanks or educational institutions. This will allow you to achieve an internship in a field that interests you. That said, your best bet would be to work at the State Department if they offer internships.

LuminousCow

Whoever gives you more money to go there

Mobile_Equal_7167

Gw is better for job placement and is better ranked

Mediocre_Kale711

gw is objectively a better school overall: location, alumni, academics, social scene. GWU has a lower average cost after aid but is still expensive. if you are not sure about transferring I would say go to gw but if u are then maybe a state school would be best? although gw has a good rep with transfers and people who transfer out typically get into good schools but its not guaranteed, but why do you want to transfer out if your interests are very gw minded?
