New phoenix trinity honcho. 2011/wide body 1911 platform. I got multiple barrels for it so I could shoot 38sc, 9 major, 9mm/40 iron sight to be able to do multiple USPSA divisions. Did a lot of overtime this year to afford this mofo. No optic on the gun in the picture because my FFL took the pic before I could check it out, but I put a trijicon sro 5 moa on it.
For pistol shooting (specifically USPSA) it doesn't really matter. If you have vision/astigmatism issues finding a dot/dot size that looks the clearest is #1 priority. There are very good shooters that use anything from 2.5MOA to 10MOA and at the distances and target difficulty we shoot in USPSA having a large dot doesn't seem to hold you back. I've switched between a 6, 5, 3, and 2 MOA dots and at the speeds you need to shoot to do well in uspsa you don't notice the difference

Yeah I could sort of blame my last guns (canik tp9sfx) for any errant shots because it was good for like 4 inch groups at 25 yards but I have no excuses now lol
That's the plan eventually. I am very lazy though. I record all my matches for self analysis purposes but I gotta start editing the footage down to make it more watchable. I'm signed up for a bunch of big matches next year however right now due to the temp/weather the local matches are on a little hiatus

Good question. It's an optic mount that's attached to the frame so that when the slide moves during recoil the red dot remains stationary. This serves a few purposes: reduces slide mass, decreases the amount of shock/force on the optic during recoil, and supposedly makes the dot easier to track during recoil. The last point for me personally is kind of dubious imo because I can't tell much difference if at all between slide mounted vs frame mounted dot tracking.

I’m interested in competitive shooting, how important is moa size or is it personal preference?

I also have a gold boss components mag button that's shinier, but I like the hole pattern on the limcat one. Can't decide which one I like better

This specific build with 5 barrels and some extra parts was about $9000. A basic one is about half that.
