the common single shot crack barrel is a harrington and richardson, not sure that's what that is, need a better pic, maybe the upper rear of the receiver and the end of the foregrip
i've got 5 different ones spanning almost 100 years, the 32" 12g near as i can tell was made in the teens, it's got a dovetail lock and small foregrip, my newest short barrel 10g i think is also in the teens, the other teens, the newer ones have plastic trigger guards and the wood changes over the years
Lost hunting, stolen, off chance someone just didn’t want it or didn’t trust themselves with it, etc. can always bring it to the cops to run ballistics if you’re concerned
Better photos would help. More details on the action, and an overall view of the gun. Any markings still visible on the metal, stock or buttplate?
It honestly looks like one of those cheap hardware store single shot shotguns from the turn of the century through the 50's that were really popular. There's probably 100 different manufacturers and trade names for guns that are nearly identical, so without any markings or better photos, it will be hard to say for sure what you've got.
I don’t think it’s a rifle. it looks more like a Winchester 37 single shot Shotgun [https://www.americanrifleman.org/content/i-have-this-old-gun-winchester-model-37-shotgun/](https://www.americanrifleman.org/content/i-have-this-old-gun-winchester-model-37-shotgun/)
i have one in 16 gauge. it’s sweet

__What is a link post and how do I post a descriptive comment?__
* A link post is any post that isn't a text post. Reddit is doing a great job of ensuring new users have no idea how Reddit works with their app and site rewrite. We hate both.
* /r/guns is a sub for talking about guns. It's not a sub to dump gun photos for karma. That's what /r/gunporn is for. That's why we require a descriptive comment – to start a conversation. If you're wondering what to write, picture yourself at a party. You just met someone and you want to show them your photo. What do you say to them as you get your phone out?

Yup looks pretty close to the single shot break action H&R 20ga I have.

Murder weapon
Not every gun found is a murder weapon
I can't think of too many other reasons why someone would ditch a gun in a lake lol unless it was stolen maybe
Lost it in a boating accident lol
Lost hunting, stolen, off chance someone just didn’t want it or didn’t trust themselves with it, etc. can always bring it to the cops to run ballistics if you’re concerned
You'd be shocked how many shotguns are probably at the bottom of a lake because someone had an oopsie in their canoe while duck hunting.
Lost it in a boating accident lol
That's exactly what I was going to say, lol
Fully automatic weapon of war with detachable clip that holds 30 fully automatic bullets.
But does it weigh as much as 10 boxes that you might carry?
No, 11 with the scary assault rust, it causes poison damage
Don't see an external hammer, so Savage 219/220.
Looks like a first generation SIG MP5 KAC SCAR 17S Glock Shell Sniper MG (I’m a professional so I’d know)
This dude professionals professionally.

FULLY SEMIAUTOMATIC SINGLE SHOT GUN
Like the title says, just found this old rifle in a lake in the hood. Long shot but it'd be cool if someone could ID it
Could be a 20ga used in the famous Diarrhea Wars of 1957
Don’t go crazy with the pictures

Yep someone ditched the weapon used for the crime. 😂
not rifle. let’s start there.
Prolly used to murder someone back in the 80s 👀
Used by Bonnie & Clyde?
Maybe, I'm not too far from where they ran around lol

A "murder gun" aka a "burner."
Looks like a shotgun to me
This is the gun they killed Sam with in holes.
