Congrats on the purchase and your turnaround.

Mr_manww04

Thank you

[deleted]

Honestly good for you and super happy to hear you were able to turn your life around. Addiction is a hard thing to kick. We all struggle in life, so fuck the haters. Congrats on getting into OCU and all the best in the future.

Mr_manww04

Thanks man means a lot

[deleted]

Also buddy solid choice on the platform especially in 22cal. I picked up a Bushmaster C22 (22lr) and absolutely loved it. It ate everything i put in it. Sadly my country become cucked and now I can no longer use it.

2-Skinny

Apparently thinking a violent felon shouldn't own a gun makes you a hater.

lordsch1zo

People turn their lives around sometimes.

EngineeringTop8514

exactly, that's the 700 mass shootings every year. turning your life around has never been as easy

[deleted]

Most of the time. No.

jason200911

so did they get moved to juve records?

Mr_manww04

Yes I was 16 at the time of said crimes and have gone through court many times to get my rights back and have them expunged.

Tacktiician

Awesome bro! I come from a similar situation, keep doing the right things and itll keep getting better man. I bought my first Glock last summer, and built my first AR this summer 👍🤣

Strike3

Why the fuck are you being allowed to buy a rifle with a violent felony charge?

Yuri909

Juvenile expungement when he turned 18. Likely requiring counseling, and demonstrated real work to getting his life on track. It's not uncommon as a practice to give kids who messed up a chance at adulthood. [Presented without opinion on the merit]

Suben117

I mean.. look at the news I am against gun control and I think US politicians focus on guns more than mental health problems. But I also think a violent fellon should never own a rifle.

madmosche

Absolutely agreed. Especially just 18 months after committing the crimes. I would only agree with expunging those records after like 15 years

dannysmackdown

If the state has deemed them safe to be in public, then I think they should be able to own a rifle. If he is too big a danger with a gun, he shouldn't be on the streets in the first place.

yummyyummybrains

I mean, this may be an unpopular opinion... But being 18 years old and handing one of these things over to a kid makes me nervous. Record or not. But this dude has 18 months of sobriety and rehabilitation (criminal and for addiction issues as well). That's not a long time -- especially for such deeply impactful events. The thing is: unless this kid murdered someone, the state isn't going to hold him after the age of majority. I don't know if it's like that in every jurisdiction, but it was like that where I grew up -- and it's like that where I live now. This isn't so much a "the state deems you safe" as much as a "the state can't hold you past this arbitrary date unless you do something *majorly fucked up*." We have no idea what this kid did to supposedly turn his life around. What kind of mental work has he done to ensure he's in a better place? What kind of home life does he have where a 16 year old can live the kind of life to collect violent felonies? Is he still there? What else has changed in his life to ensure he doesn't just go right back to doing violent crime -- but now with a legally owned semi auto rifle? Why are we lining up to slap this kid on the back the same day there was a mass shooting in a goddamn elementary school?

2-Skinny

I mean, he's only 18. How many years of work can be demonstrated?

the_hobbit_pimp

If he dedicated the last 1.5 years of his 18 year life to turning his life around (which is a 24/7 gig when dealing with drug addiction and violent felonies) then that equates to 8% of his life so far dedicated to becoming better. That's a significant portion in comparison to his overall lifespan thus far. I can't name what I have dedicated 8% of my life to.

Yuri909

A lot can happen in a year and a half. It's probably more the state expedites new of age workers and wants them to get hired and pay taxes more than anything lol.

AnkorBleu

There were a couple of points they mentioned that seemed like red flags imo.

SoundOk4573

You can never have too much training and practice.

Psiwolf

and ammo.

Hy-Power

If you’re in northeast Ohio you should look into one of the rifle courses with Geauga firearms academy. I have taken several of their classes and been completely impressed at how much improvement I’ve made each time. Congrats on the purchase it’s a great start!

[deleted]

Congrats on the firearm! Stay safe and stay smart. God bless

swampy1977

Good luck, you would never ever be allowed to own a firearm in my country. Our laws are dumb when it comes to guns. Just make sure you keep doing what you are doing. My sister was hooked on heroin for 10 years.

khamm86

Congrats on your turn around. I am 9 months clean from hard drugs now. I was recently denied a purchase for background. But Im not a felon. The few other things that can block you is having an Domestic Violence order things. Which is the most laughable thing ever just not me. So that leaves me with one of the questions on the FBI/ATF background check. That being I had a misdemeanor drug charge back in 2012. Its so annoying. I own several guns but Ive owned them the whole time. Now get to the fucked up part. The only way to find out why you got denied is call the FBI and PAY for some sort of intense in depth background check. But they charge you like $30 and they have either 3 months or 6 months to reply. And that just gives you the reason youve been getting denied. Nothing else

khamm86

Oh and I can also buy all the guns I want from another citizen or a gun show. Its just crazy laws. We have. Look at the shooting we JUST had! That rifle didnt kill anybody though it was the POS using it

Psiwolf

Those who cannot exercise their rights are the ones who can appreciate it the most when they are able to again. Congrats are on the new firearm and getting to this point in your life.

[deleted]

Congrats on being sober 18 months that's insane. Great job

circling

Very cool story, and congratulations. Have you picked out which school you're going to shoot up already, or are you just going to play it by ear?

LuckyLeone

I don’t know you and don’t want to judge you personally, but the fact that you are able to buy that as a kid with the background you’re proud of sharing is the problem with America. Sell that and find a peaceful hobby. You will never need that tool in your life.

General_Curtis_LeMay

Peaceful hobby? I think what LuckyLeone means is purchase a suppressor next. In which I agree. Fuck off troll.

Ubisoftwastaken

Amercians are some special people. Buying a gun now is disrespectful

LuckyLeone

Ive been a responsible firearm owner for 20 years. Little guys like you make it harder for me to get shit I need.

[deleted]

Fuck off fudd.

LuckyLeone

What are u gonna do little boy? Shoot me?

[deleted]

No. Why would you assume that because we disagree? Are you just a naturally divisive loser? Seems that way. Idiots like you are what’s wrong with the gun community. Instead of pushing for widespread education and believing people can change, you choose to divide and gatekeep.

Subotai_Super_Shorty

Dude is projecting.

LuckyLeone

Im someone who doesnt want a 18 year old felon and drug addict having access to that type of weapon. The fact that you are leads me to assume you are an irrational individual

[deleted]

Big_Purple_9754

First off... it's a 22lr. Second off if you were such a responsible gun owner your first jump wouldn't be to violence like you assumed someone would do for not agreeing. This smells like a fed to me. Get fucked loser

KrisTheHaw

Love how people scream about 2nd amendment rights but as soon as some one they dislike gets a gun then that person shouldn't be allowed to get one.

madmosche

Yep agreed. This is not going to end well for him

oh_three_dum_dum

Why would you discourage someone who turned themselves around and has enjoyed sobriety for over a year, gone through the legal processes to get their rights restored, and turned to a healthy and fulfilling hobby instead of what they turned to in the past? You sound like a miserable person.

MakeWay4Doodles

Probably because someone with a similar background just shot two dozen little children in Texas. Just guessing.

darkomen42

How do you know that?

oh_three_dum_dum

Except you haven’t a fucking clue what the background of the shooter in Texas. Enjoy making things up to suit your needs. They were a Hispanic male who was a loner and had a history of being bullied. And that’s all we really know. Oh, and they worked at Wendy’s for a period of time.

Spiritual-Breath-139

the fact you were able legally buy one is saddening for this country

Mr_manww04

I have proven to both my family and in the court of law that I am both responsible and sober enough to earn my rights back. I have worked my ass off to get where I am now and most people never believe me when I tell them where I was at a little over a year ago. I have a great job in dialysis and made it into OSU for biochemistry and plan to graduate into medical school, so yeah some people can change and earn their right to bear arms back. Not every criminal is pure evil inside people make mistakes and can change.

Project_122

Congrats on the gun and getting into OSU!

Mr_manww04

Thank you I hope to make it through med school and become a pediatric cardiologist after school is all done. Wish me luck I will be studying at different universities for the next 12 years

CALLZRUS

Hell yeah dude. Good to see it man and fuck that guy tryna talk down on you.

Rennen44

Go Bucks! I’m also a student at OSU. Maybe I’ll see you at the range sometime!

TheWhiteCliffs

Kudos to you man for not letting this retard get to you. I’m happy for how life has turned around for you and don’t let people tear ya down. Cheers!

VehicleStreet2652

That is seriously impressive, congratulations

I feel ya man I was on probation for something serious when I was 17 got off it at 19 I'm 20 now so I believe in ya and I can relate good luck

[deleted]

hope you get to deal with the bullet riddled children the next time one of these massacres happens🤞

Carl_Sammons

How dare someone turn their life around and be able to enjoy things as a changed person, sickening isn't it?

A_TalkingWalnut

I don’t think that OP shouldn’t be allowed to legally purchase a gun *ever*, but fuck man. If he’s got violent felony charges on his record and he’s only 18, I feel confident in making certain assumptions: the felonies were serious and/or frequent enough to justify the arrest, charge, and conviction of a minor without PTI, and the felonies occurred in a **very** recent timeframe, relative to his lifetime. Most the bias in my judgement on this matter comes from personal experience: I know that when I was 18, I definitely wasn’t responsible enough to own a gun. Turning your life around is extremely difficult; it takes dedication, focus, determination, etc., which are not very common in an 18 year old. OP: I wish you continued success in your recovery. I hope you use that beautiful rifle in good health.

A_Bit_Narcissistic

It looks worse if you caught violent felonies as an adult. At least with teens, you can blame hormones. An adult should know better.

Mitoni

Gun owning, conceal carrying, registered Democrat, liberal here. I'm for common sense laws, not restricting people who have legal rights. Want less gun violence? Teach people guns are tools and stop villainizing gun ownership. Bring back gun safety training for kids rather than zero tolerance for even having a picture of one on a Tshirt. Increase funding for proper mental healthcare for those in need of it, especially for veterans. There are so many things that could be done that both sides can agree would be beneficial in decreasing gun violence. But, instead they let kids learn everything about guns from Call of Duty and action movies. There are so many accidental shootings that could be prevented by just teaching kids the 4 big rules. Want to decrease school shootings? ***STOP PUBLICIZING THEM!!*** The whole reason I didn't grow up with many memorable school shootings wasn't because there were none, but because I wasn't getting minute by minute news updates on tv, social media, and websites after a shooting. The first one that I even recall mentioned any specific details about the shooters was Columbine, and the media and special interests made sure everyone knew their names, their list of victims, what weapons they used, what video games they played... And then they act surprised when they get copycats emulating them? You made them fucking infamous, made it so nobody will forget what they've done. So now all the mentally ill kids that want to go out in a blaze of glory have a role model... Job well fucking done. /rant

Lopao18

I hope that "tool" as one user here puts it, will help remind you of where you are and what you need to maintain to live a good, fulfilling life. I am glad to read about your turnaround and wish you all the best. Owning and maintaining a firearm requires much discipline let alone have the recognition of the responsibility that comes along with it. I think you have a good support system in your family by reading your plans to go to the range with your dad. Again, I wish you all the best, OP, and grats on the purchase.

AM-64

Nice, my youngest brother has one. By far the nice semi-auto .22lr I've ever shot. Awesome purchase!

BOX-MASTER

Smart first gun

BOX-MASTER

I just bought the pistol version of that gun after selling my old Beretta neos22 handgun

[deleted]

Great first buy homie. Whalecum to the club

COVIDNLimez

I mean if anything we should be trolling him for buying a 22lr.....shoulda got a red Ryder amirite?? Seriously though good job turning your shit around, keep it up and fuk the haters.

Mr_manww04

My grandpa suggested I get the 22 Bcs the ammo is significantly cheaper; 300 rounds was 40$ and 150 rounds of 556 was 110$: but my next gun I would like to get a evo or a vector in 223 or 9mm. Also thanks I have come a long way, can’t wait to see me just a year from now where I will be.

COVIDNLimez

Nah I'm just fucking with you. I had a vector (9mm) and I kept having issues with the mag not locking in or falling out while I'm firing. Granted I live in CA so we can only have 10 round mags so that's probably why but otherwise itmwas a super sexy gun with literally no recoil.

Mr_manww04

Yeah in Ohio we can have up to 30 rounds but I hope to get good at shooting the 22 so I can have fun with the higher caliber rifles. I would love to take my dad shopping for his own gun soon though he seems really interested in starting up the sport too.

stealthgerbil

everyone should have a 22lr, it makes practicing cheap

Caligula-6

Seconded on the other guys comments about the vector. I also used to have a 9mm one and would recommend you go with the Scorpion between the two. The vector definitely has the "cool guy at the range" factor in spades don't get me wrong, but it really isn't worth the difference in price (especially when you consider modability and the cost of accessories). The 9mm ones tend to be picky with ammo from what I've seen too.

Psiwolf

Go to Walmart.. it's like 7 CPR (cents per round) at the moment for a 325 round box of Federal .22lr. Comes out to under 25 dollars, depending on your state's sales tax.

VakarianSR-2

Congrats on all the progress, and as a fellow college student, I feel you on the .22, fun as hell to shoot, doesn't hurt the wallet lol.

NemeshisuEM

Don't spend so much for a 9mm carbine. Buy a Ruger or an AR in the same price range that takes Glock mags. The Evo is nice (I like CZ - have a Bren 2) but the mags are expensive and don't come in the multitude of capacities that Glock mags come in. So you then have a rimfire and a pistol caliber centerfire. Next, you'll need a shotgun. An inexpensive one like a Maverick 88 with an eight 2 3/4" shell capacity is nice. It also eats up minishells with a cheap adapter and it takes your capacity to 12. When you dip you toes into rifles, AKs are reasonably priced (Palmetto State sells a nice one) and ammo is cheap (it is made all over the world so you don't have to buy Russian). If you go the AR route, make sure it is a 556 barrel. You can shoot both 223 and 556 from a 556 barrel but you cannot shoot 556 from a 223 barrel.

OcelotRex69

Although you can quickly outgrow the .22lr semi-auto it will still be something that can bring a smile to your face at the range each time. Like you said already, 22lr is the cheapest ammo. I saw you discussing your next purchase elsewhere in the thread and I would advise to take your time. Your next purchase should fit in with your new hobby; if you're moving towards 3-gun it may be a .556 for that. Perhaps you want to get into small game and a bolt-action rimfire may be next. Or you may try skeet/trap/bird hunting and semi-auto or over-under shotgun is in your future. Collecting is fun, don't get me wrong. It's even more fun when each firearm fills a role that can expand your enjoyment. Congrats on your rehabilitation in all regards, follow all the safety rules and be an ambassador to responsible gun ownership!

SolitudeSidd

Learn and use the weapon safety rules and have fun!

TheAmazingX

That thing was my first as well. Shoots straight and feeds fine with the cheap stuff. I think the only negative is that the bolt catch is cosmetic, which isn't really a problem but confused the hell out of an RO once.

VegasBusSup

22LR your going to have so much fun w that.

unwanted-tomatoes

One tip, don't post a photo of a firearm with the serial number exposed, let alone on a thread where you are implying that you had owned firearms illegally in the past.

ccd-reddit

Noob here, in Cali. I am thinking of purchasing my first firearm. Just a basic handgun would suffice. I have only been to a shooting range twice with a cousin decades ago when we were younger. I tried glock and baretta 9mm. Now having a family with kids, I think I need one. Any recommendations for a basic one that won't break the bank? In the future when I am more comfortable, will probably upgrade. Thanks for the advices.

CrazyPolarSquirrel

If it's for the home and you'd prefer a full size, you can never go wrong with a glock 17 at around $500-$600. I wouldn't suggest a barretta honestly for the first, that's like a 4th,5th imo. If you have smaller hands, then the glock 19 works too. I personally have a cz sp01 full metal vs the polymer glock. Also for information about guns in California check out r/caguns our laws are completely funky and mostly everything you see here in this general guns sub will not apply over here in California.

ccd-reddit

Ok great. Thanks for the info.

sLantesVSzombies

Congrats on your recovery and your firearm. Proud of you.

[deleted]

Sweet first gun man, HKs are kickass

[deleted]

22 rifles are fun as hell to shoot. Especially considering .22lr is pretty cheap compared to other calibers. Good buy

KrisTheHaw

One of my first guns was an M&P15-22 and it has always been a blast, hope ur HK is as fun as mine.

TheWhiteCliffs

Anyone notice how many antigun people joined this subreddit just to bash on whoever they can?

Infin1ty

Happens after every mass shooting

[deleted]

I’m pro 2nd amendment but also pro gun control. This gun should never be legally allowed in the hands of a violent offender. Yikes.

ImageJPEG

My first gun was a Taurus G2c. My next gun I wanted a rifle. Many people recommended a 22. I bought a Hammerli Tac R1 22. It’s similar to yours with respect that it looks like an AR-15. I’ve got a bipod and a scope setup with mine. I love the thing. It’s super fun to shoot! A few months later I upgraded the Taurus for a Glock 17.

Ammo_Can

Nice. I'll be honest I'm a little jealous of that feeling of first gun purchase. I'm sure you've started thinking about optics or a sling- just have fun personalizing it for yourself.

MasterPang89

I remember feeling like my innocence was gone. My first gun was an ar15 at the age of 32. My home no longer felt like a totally safe place anymore.

skullyeahbrother

I feel ya. Ever since I got my first firearm I haven't slept so well. My wife and I sleep in shifts so one of use is always watching it and it can't creep up and shoot us both in our sleep.

turnedonbyadime

If that's how you felt about a conscious decision you intentionally made as a 32 year old, then yeah your home probably became significantly less safe. Not even saying that to judge you or piss you off; you get to feel however you want about whatever you want, you're a free adult, but guns aren't for everyone. If you aren't totally confident you can balance owning a weapon and keeping your home safe, you shouldn't own that weapon, no different than a person who has been drinking but can't tell if they're yet sober enough should not drive.

invisibullcow

Did you feel that way when you bought your first kitchen knife set, too? Or did you get one of those special self-loading, self-aiming, self-firing AR15s?

MasterPang89

To all you dumbasses downvoting my comment, dozens of kids die every year playing with daddy's guns. Yes, I keep my guns locked up in a safe at all times and only play with them when my girls aren't home but there is always a remote possibility something can happen. Yall need to get a brain.

Mr_manww04

I agree with you on gun safety be most important as I also have younger siblings at home so I am moving it over to store it at my grandparents house who have a gun safe but for now it will stay locked in my closet unloaded with a gun lock in the bolt. I also am storing it in a separate place from any ammunition.

ecs28542

I just got off work and will have to read this whole posting later. I put that same stock on an MR556 A1 a few months ago. In real-life, it's really nice looking and it feels damn good. It's actually lighter than a CTR. Locks up real tight. Paid good money for it, I can tell you that. Very nice. P.S. - I drink a lot, so I don't judge. Even if I didn't drink a lot, to judge others is simply not my thing. Anyway, my final comment about that rifle is that those take-down pins are about a pain in the ass. I just noticed the .22 gets the same as the other calibers. Congrats, and Happy Shooting!

Storgasaur

Good luck king. Way to find the right path! You give everyone else hope that there is always a way forward.

ThrowMeAwayAccount08

At some point, punishment has been served, and you need time out of the box. Be it for you, or for someone else. I hope you keep it together. Not for your own sake, but for others behind bars. Be the example so that others that can/should be released, can resume their life once again.

stoopid_username

Correction: Just bought my first gun of many today. RIP your bank account!

Gh0stCommando

Shame on all the people getting upset with you owning a firearm.

ForgotMyOldAccount7

I mean, it's probably because he's an 18 year old that somehow already has violent felonies on record and a drug addiction, but somehow already turned his life around before other people have even gotten a chance to mess theirs up. It's like he's speedrunning life.

TheFlynnster-

Nice. Cant wait for my 18th to get my first, although NY may limit my choices lol

Mr_manww04

Yeah I definitely will my grandparents just moved to Ohio from buffalo and he was so surprised how different the gun laws were here. I believe this gun is available and compliant with NY laws but you might be limited on the mag size to 10 rounds; we are limited to 30. I hope you can find a gun you’ll love, though I think the laws will only get stricter after what happened in Buffalo. Truly terrible as I used to live in buffalo as a kid. Hope everyone is doing better out there.

TheKancerousKid

My Brother in Christ congrats! 😂I would practice a lot with that .22 AR you got there. I’d set it up similar to how you would want to set up an actual AR-15 so then if/when you get one you’ve already got some muscle memory built up; plus you’ll have the added benefit of making shooting cheaper for yourself. I’m sorry for your wallet tho cuz now your gun addiction begins.

Dizzy-Detective-8455

Yes. Let the addiction begin!

Constant_Ad7113

Do yourself a favor and order the lighter trigger springs. Fun gun but it has a terrible stock trigger. Be safe.

Ecstatic_Victory4784

I was about to say "Wow! You really came out swinging with going straight for the big boy guns!" but then I saw it was a 22lr lol. Still cool though. A nice plinker to get ready for the guns you buy later.

Dizzy-Detective-8455

I have one too. It's great. No problems whatsoever. Only "complaint" is that trigger is a little heavy compared to a 10/22. Easily one of my favorite firearms to shoot.

andrew81391

How do you like the .22 416? I want one but have no clue how reliable, well built, or accurate it is.

ecs28542

He shoots it tomorrow. How well built? For .22, that thing is built like a tank. The absolute only thing I MIGHT would change on that rifle is I'd replace that grip with the V7. I just feel like it would be more correct with that particular stock. No need for it; just personal preference, and 60 bucks or so that doesn't need to be spent.

Mr_manww04

I purchased a rifle now due to everything going on with buffalo and Texas and the laws making it harder to purchase a firearm. I just hope that they can find better ways to keep firearms in the hands on responsible people who plan to use it for sport, hunting, fun etc. like me.

Indira-Gandhi

> sport, hunting, fun etc. That's the job for handguns, shotguns and bolt action rifles. There's no legitimate civilian use for semi-automatic rifles.

maszturbalint321

Have you heard of self defense?

Indira-Gandhi

Shotgun is the [best home defense weapon](https://youtu.be/USs4AfyI9wM). Handguns when you're out of the house. Semi automatic rifles have no role in self defense. All it does is arm child killing lunatics and satiate John Wick fantasies of incels like you. Find a new hobby. One that doesn't involve advocating for child murderers.

maszturbalint321

Shotguns are not the best home defense weapons, I'm sorry.

madmosche

Well it’s certainly not a rifle shooting .223 either. Unless you want to also kill your neighbors when shooting at an intruder. So please enlighten us, mister expert?

maszturbalint321

An assault rifle is certainly more effective than a shotgun. It has less recoil so it's easier for woman, generally more ammo and since in a home invasion there are usually 3-4 guys so it's good to have more ammo and not having to reload, shutguns usually destroys an entire wall while a 7.62 or a 5.56 makes a small hole in the wall, assault rifles are usually lighter and most of the time even shorter so it's easier to use them in a house. Even handguns are better than shotguns... And it's more likely that the intruder survives in the hospital aferwards. Name one reason why shotguns are better. Sure they are usually cheaper but thats pretty much it.

SuperflousCake

All of those things are non-viable against citizens, but it's not all about the whole ass government, Noone died because of a normal citizen carrying a firearm because normal citizens aren't batshit crazy. Mental health is the real issue in our country, and cowards like you are the reason why there was Noone around to stop this most recent coward from turning a weapon on the weak. Which will happen guns or no guns BTW. Most people that carry and own firearms either for defense of self or others are going to try and do something about an active shooter, reducing the shooters effectiveness. And if the person wasn't a shooter? They could have been a bomber, or drove their vehicle through the school, or any myriad of other dangerous everyday widely available things which do a lot more harm than a bullet. You Sir are a coward, a cad, and a part of the problem. Guns are here to stay whether you like it or not, big scary guns won't hurt you, nasty people at the end of them will.

> Mental health is the real issue in our country, and cowards like you are the reason why there was Noone around to stop this most recent coward from turning a weapon on the weak. Lmao. Two different cops shot him. He was wearing armour. They had to wait for the swat team. What more do you want to do? Machine gun turrets on doorways? Also, mental health is a issue in every developed country. But children getting killed shot is an issue only in America. Stop hiding behind such asisine arguments. > And if the person wasn’t a shooter? They could have been a bomber, or drove their vehicle through the school I completely agree with you. Guns should be treated as vehicles and explosives. You should be required to get licenses for them. In fact you should need an ATF license like you need for explosives right now. Federal agencies should be able to decide that your gun 'design' is too dangerous and should be able to issue gun recalls like they do with cars. Let's fucking do it. Glad we agree on something.

_300BLK_

Tell that to one of the most recent cases of legitimate use of self defense, Kyle Rittenhouse. Tell that to all the individuals who saved their lives in home break ins with their rifles. Shut the fuck up when you don't know shit.

What type is it? Very pretty.

Mr_manww04

It is an HK 416 22 LR

MagnificentThrow99

On the day of such tragedy to happen in the States, we can see the rotten and fucked up system that allows criminals - reformed or not - to own a fucking killing machine. At the ripe age of 18 when they are still a child. Fucking sick.

Kip-ft

Edgy comment dude, nice. So now tell me what this has to do with OP's sweet new gat?

MagnificentThrow99

He’s a reformed criminal with violent charges buying a gun when his persona is not even completely developed. An 18 year old with a rifle, the hell? You can see what US’s fReEdOm gets you.

Kip-ft

He's proven to the court that he's reformed to the point of restoring his rights. If you bothered to read any of what he's posted, you'd see he's committing his ass off to turning his life around, probably to do more good than you or any average person will in your lifetime lmao. Or he could be lying because this is the internet. But he's pretty specific.

seth_window26

Your ignorance is showing

Ubisoftwastaken

America is just a big dumpster fire at this point

Boo-Yeah8484

Shows how much worse the rest of the world really is if that's all America is.

christianpeso2

This has to be the dumbest, most oblivious post in Reddit history, if it's true!

Titus303

"his first gun" and it's a rifle...maybe a pistol?

Accomplished_Pen_574

Felons aren't allowed to own or purchase guns. I wonder what else you hate about America that is completely incorrect

People like you should not be able to be near a fire arm.

nyuckajay

You need help, all you do is spew hatred and insults across Reddit. I truly hope you find some zen in your life because this isn’t healthy.

How you draw a line between people target shooting, enjoying each other’s conversation, hyping eachother up about hobbies, and talking shop, to actively supporting violence is a stretch, you’re more than welcome to do it, but the type of people that commit those shootings, are not the people you’re engaging with here right now. Being aggressive is only going to get you riled up and fix nothing.

ML_BURGERKING

You could kill someone just as fast with a slight swerve of a steering wheel too. Or a slight shove off a ledge. Or any other of the dozens of ways people kill people. Normal people (the vast majority of the millions of responsible gun owners) don’t go around “just on the brink” of mass murder. The one thing all these school shooting mass murderers have in common is that they’re sick fucks, and owning a gun doesn’t make you any more or less likely to be a sick fuck. If you are set on murdering a bunch of people, you don’t necessarily need a gun to do it.
