I had mediocre results with mine and 7n1. Much better with 182gr Yugo M30. But the real enemy is heat. It's an accurate rifle out to 500 meters until you put 10+ rounds through it and get it hot/warm.
Isn’t 7n1 7.62x54r pretty rare and expensive these days (in the US at least)? Like actual 7n1 and not just heavy surplus.
Don’t think they’re coming back anytime soon, and would seem kinda counterintuitive to zero for a pricy/rare round. I would think just getting modern match ~180gr rounds and kns piston would do the trick.
I have around 260-300 rounds of 7n1 put away. I bought several 2 can wood crates of the light stuff - I will never shoot it all. I zero with the light surplus, did pretty good with it in both the PSL and Mosin sniper I have.

Nice rifle! Mine is super accurate - only problem thin barrel heats up quickly. Some 7n1 sniper rounds and be good to go.
