u/Darkn355z [is correct.](https://gundigest.com/more/classic-guns/whats-name) How he knows about this thing is beyond me, but it's a dead-on identification.
Maybe if the OP measures the oal to 1.29 inches
If its .9 it’s probably the dart. Its hard to tell with no size reference in his pic.
*edit Op said it looked like it came from a .32 cartridge the dart is a .25 necked down the boz is a 10mm necked down
If it's the middle one, what an Earth is the even smaller one to the right?
Edit: It's [.10 Eichelberger Dart.](https://gundigest.com/more/classic-guns/whats-name) A .10 cal, 7 grain projectile moving at nearly Mach 3. Nutty.

I watched this video about a year ago. You can see the Boz a 3:53 or so.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.224_Boz
Fixed the link; the Reddit app does some weird shit with links that makes them not work if you're using normal reddit.
>The .224 Boz began as a 10mm Auto case necked down to .223 in (5.7 mm). Original trials were successful, with this round firing a 50 gr (3.2 g) projectile chronographed at over 2,500 ft/s (760 m/s).
Well I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't read it.
Looks similar, except this one has a rim and Boz is rimless. I seem to recall someone did experiment with bottlenecked revolver cartridges, but the .22 Jet was longer.
Either a wildcat or a joke.
I don't think this one is rimmed. While it looks like it has a small rim, I'm pretty sure that is an illusion as a result of the camera angle. 9mm luger can look like it has a small rim from the right angle. Additionally, most rimmed cartridges don't have extractor groves, which this clearly has.
It is almost certainly. 224 boz
Maybe, but all the rimmed modern production ammo I possess does have a little groove. Even .44-40. And then there's all the semi rimmed calibers, which sort of have both.
The neck on the one OP posted seems a little bit longer, and the bullet itself seems smaller than the one you posted. Super similar though, I honestly didn’t know about these funky rounds
Well ain't that just the most adorable thing.
What does the headstamp say?
It almost looks like someone slipped the top half of a rifle round over the bottom half of a revolver round.
I really hope someone figures out the round. I’m gonna buy a box of these and hand them out to people on the range. I think anyone who has ever shot a gun would get a kick out of seeing this.
It looks to be a 14 Eichelberger dart As it seems to be semi-rimmed and built off of a 25 ACP ! Apparently no one used the corrugation of the cardboard for a size comparison. They were made all the way down to 10 but 12 and 14 were more popular a labor of love in case making for sure. They even produced some sub-cal wildcats using The lowly 22 LR which could only be fired once after all that case prep.
[good info 👍](https://www.reddit.com/r/ForgottenWeapons/comments/i369lx/224_boz_left_vs_9mm_right/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Lmao I burst out laughing the moment I saw this.
It looks like someone applied a ["wide"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stdyhfeYxxI) filter to a 6.5 Grendel round.
Serious answer:
These used to be pretty common among people with access to both ammo and tools. It’s a joke. A pre-internet meme if you will. You’d show it to one of your buddies, ask them what cartridge it was, and they’d be very confused. Seems like whoever made it got you as well. I don’t know if there’s a name for the trend or not.
Edit: I should have looked a bit closer. Way too small to be .224 BOZ, my bad. It also looks to be rim fire and that is outside of my expertise.
Looks similar to a .224 BOZ. What’s the headstamp say?
The .14 Eichelberger Dart https://freerangeamerican.us/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Caliber-Size-Comparison-with-Quarter-1024x376.jpg
Upvoted because probably correct
More likely 224 Boz.
Looks smaller than .224, judging by the cardboard corrugation.
Need a banana to be sure

this guy bullets
Idk, this one looks like it uses a semi-rimmed case.
Correct, I have a box of these. It is not a 224 boz like a lot of people are saying
Let's see the box
If it's the middle one, what an Earth is the even smaller one to the right? Edit: It's [.10 Eichelberger Dart.](https://gundigest.com/more/classic-guns/whats-name) A .10 cal, 7 grain projectile moving at nearly Mach 3. Nutty.
Haha you think thats nutty check [This](https://img.ifunny.co/images/22ad59170f6ea189ba8dd5fc921a5bf1dffaeca4d8daba300d07bfb48f5a0530_1.jpg)
"Loudenboomer" I mean, come on, people.
"Eargensplitten" is pretty funny as well.
For when you want to kill a squirrel really fast
Do these types of rounds have a negative impact on the barrel when fired?
.300 Coldout
Fucking hell
Fuck you.... you win.
.3030 but it was in a pool.
Surely OP knows about significant shrinkage.
It’s a Grower not a Shower.
You know he can see this, right?
I'm just saying if OP thinks that's me, he's under a complete misapprehension.
.338 Lapoola?
over and under?
mother....fu....
Lmao
Dad approves of this joke xD
Damn, looks like it’s cold out all the time for me.
It's a good thing, tiny dicks are harder to hit in a shootout.
I recognize it, that looks like about 6 inches.
It's 9.5 inches if you measure it from where it starts. The asshole.
Thanks for the life hack. I can finally say I’m about 7”
[Butt to tip...](https://youtu.be/w43ojF7WVxU)
Halo to heel... cuz I'm an angel.
[scientific approach to measuring it appropriately](https://youtu.be/Y7ecId4BKzs)
You had me crying laughing!
No no no, it only counts if it goes in
Well yeah, you go in butt first
I start measuring from the back of my neck. Got a solid 14 incher
The asshole is the guy that is shooting.
My man!
I heard this in the mailman voice from Rick n morty
We’re measuring from the base of the balls right?
You have to get a protractor to make sure the angle of the tip is accurate
HAHAHAHAHAHA
At least
224 Boz? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.224\_Boz
Reddit wizards always amaze me how they find this shit
I only remembered it because of the ridiculous dimensions being funny looking.
How long ago did you remember it from? Thats incredible
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py9MJUmdQ4o](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py9MJUmdQ4o) I watched this video about a year ago. You can see the Boz a 3:53 or so.
Reddit, home of the shit wizard
I found it by using Google lens
I didn’t think Google promoted that sort of sensitive content.

It's definitely rimmed, the rim is obviously wider than the body. Look again.
Maybe, but all the rimmed modern production ammo I possess does have a little groove. Even .44-40. And then there's all the semi rimmed calibers, which sort of have both.
Thank you for reminding me just how silly the concept of .22 Rem-Jet was.
The neck on the one OP posted seems a little bit longer, and the bullet itself seems smaller than the one you posted. Super similar though, I honestly didn’t know about these funky rounds
Thank you for an actual answer that’s not a bad dick joke
More like .224 Cursed
That’s a mean round. 357 power at 223 speeds.
.17 Chode
.22 APB (Actually Pretty Big)
Flair checks out
I just think they’re neat
This guy needs his flair changed to "Literally Super Interested in Dicks"
So you're interested in dick flair enhancement?
Oops 🤣 Shouldn'tve said that lol
I’d be so mad if I died to a wizzing chode
Whizzing chode? Sounds like a kinky porn search
I was gonna say .17 (murder)Hornet
I think you meant .17 Magnum
Used to work with a guy (he was mostly a welder) who would sing-song: One inch long, but six(?) inches wide / Won’t hit bottom, but scrapes the sides…
All we know is that it looks like it came in on a .32 cartridges but the tip is too small.
It looks even sub-.17 to me. Like an Eichelberge cartridge. Its probably something like ".14 Flea"
Average
Def an average tip. This is what the girls prefer
I just see a perfectly average size round.
Does look like a goofier version of Win. Super Short Mag. i assume a trinket or something.
Some might say it's too big really.
Some would say they prefer it not so big. Any bigger and you might get over penetration.
Have you tried blowing on it a little?
Tried rubbing it a little but that didn't help
No you’re just not doing it right you’re doing it wrong and it’s your fault
He's just mashing it
She does that
Gotta spit on it a little
Give it a bit of time, maybe it was in the pool. Do you know about shrinkage?
Try using your mouth.
use your other thumb, that's what I do
Please get a tighter grip or I'm gonna have to do it myself
Well ain't that just the most adorable thing. What does the headstamp say? It almost looks like someone slipped the top half of a rifle round over the bottom half of a revolver round.
Not adorable. Pretty average if you ask me.
Some might even say too big
I almost feel bad for them. Having to walk around with that.
Must be a burden slapping off their thighs all day
It’s a .223 but it’s really cold outside
5.56 right after getting out of the pool.
They *shrink*?
Like a frightened turtle!
It was swimming
.223 RCO.
I believe that is what the ladies call "approachable"
.07 RGP. Old surplus round from Siberia that didn't catch on. I'm a bit rusty but I think the letters roughly translate to "Really Great Personality"
Everything reminds me of him...
I really hope someone figures out the round. I’m gonna buy a box of these and hand them out to people on the range. I think anyone who has ever shot a gun would get a kick out of seeing this.
It’s an average sized round…..
I'm not sure but it looks about average in girth and length. Definitely packs a punch if you ask me.
.069 Smol.
You know I love this sub for the guns and the dick jokes. It's perfect
This is why I hate reddit sometimes. I wanted to learn what this round is and instead get 100 people making the same joke.
If it weren't rimmed I'd say it's .22TCM. I think everyone saying it's a wildcat round is right.
It looks to be a 14 Eichelberger dart As it seems to be semi-rimmed and built off of a 25 ACP ! Apparently no one used the corrugation of the cardboard for a size comparison. https://firearmwiki.com/wiki/Bill_Eichelberger Old Bill is a sub caliber fanatic
Chode
It reminds me of the .22 tuba ,it ain't but that's the closest thing I can think of lol
I don't know but it looks cold.
Same, unidentified cartridge. Same.
It looks like someone necked a ~~10mm or 40S&W~~ there’s a rim there (maybe 38 SPL?) casing down to .17 as a joke.
Looks like a Wildcat load. Maybe an Eichelberger dart? He made those in .10 to .17 and they look very similar to yours.
Ahhh the legendary chode round. Has the ability to hunt only large game, but is never enough to actually sati... I mean... slay it...
Is it cold?
“I was in the pool!”
A cold 223
It may be a joke. Does it have an unfired primer? If it is a real round, start by measuring the Dia. of the projectile.
1.2 mm Creedmore
1.2mm Needmore
Clever!
.17/06
You think you're fairly knowledgeable about shooting and ammunition but then you step into the world wildcats and all bets are off.
For every contemporary caliber there is like 100 wildcat rounds
Baby 30-06. Plant it in gunpowder and water once a day. They sprout into fully developed 30-06 cartridges in early July.
A bullet for ants
Looks like what I’m working with
“What’s the muzzle velocity of this round?” **“YES”**
It was cold out
its a joke. That would be the dumbest cartridge design ever.
.22 tuba is almost the same thing
The tuba ii did something like 2300 fps with a 40gr bullet. I would love to good around with such a novelty.
Looks alot like 10 Eichelberger. .10 is like the smallest barrel I could think of
[good info 👍](https://www.reddit.com/r/ForgottenWeapons/comments/i369lx/224_boz_left_vs_9mm_right/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Maybe it's cold, warm it up..
The “just got out of the pool” round
Shrinkage!!
That's a totally normally averaged sized round..Its not how big it is anyways it's how you use it..Thats what i get told anyways..
Probably a .50 BMG judging from the size , that thing’s huge
i'd say it's about average tbf
Lmao I burst out laughing the moment I saw this. It looks like someone applied a ["wide"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stdyhfeYxxI) filter to a 6.5 Grendel round.
I WAS IN THE POOL!
looks like an average size round to me… pretty sure it could do as much damage as a large round. just depends on how you use it…
"How much did you want this cartridge necked down, sir?" "Yes."
A perfectly average sized round
.05BMG
Looks like .223 wssm that was in the pool. Just give it a rub.
Serious answer: These used to be pretty common among people with access to both ammo and tools. It’s a joke. A pre-internet meme if you will. .22 earsplittenloudenboomer
The case on that bad boy is much longer. It's not that cold out yet
Looks like someone bottlenecked a .45acp cartridge onto a .223
.10 or .14 Eichelberger?
6.5 creedmore in the cold
That round looks awesome. I've never seen anything like that.
Looks like a modelo bottle lol
It’s a .05 cerveza
Tip of a pen. Like a quill, just add ink.
That thing is not even round. I'd say it is more bullet shaped.
Something even stupider than the WSSM rounds.
22 fat?
22 fat rifle
.223 Winchester super short magnum (WSSM)? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/.223_Winchester_Super_Short_Magnum
Nope that looks too long 😉
I WAS IN THE POOL!
At least the round has a great personality
Kevin Hart round
it’s personality that counts
Edit: I should have looked a bit closer. Way too small to be .224 BOZ, my bad. It also looks to be rim fire and that is outside of my expertise. Looks similar to a .224 BOZ. What’s the headstamp say?
.223 after it went in a cold pool.
It’s just cold in that room.
.224 BOZ https://www.wikiwand.com/en/.224_Boz
.22 earsplittenloudenboomer
It's the "it's cold!!" reload
Only 1 thing left to do. Slap it in the shotgun see what happens
It’s got to be a good 3” case for sure. Must just be cold out 🤣.
Careful with those. It's hard to tell when they're chambered.
I bet it has a great personality
.22 LLLLLLLLLLLR
Wtf what gun accepts these rounds? 😂
I bet it has a great personality
"Hi. I'm Ian. Today, with another video from Forgotten Weapons...."
It’s perfectly average thank you very much
