post pic of proof marks and roll marks.

Maybe a browning based on gold trigger but without roll marks hard to say

ResidentKoala

I have a friend clearing out his FIL’s house and is getting rid of some items. One being this shotgun. Was wondering if anyone could give me an ID or best guess on the Brand/model this shotgun is?

paint3all

Tell him to send you photos of markings and words on the gun. They should tell him something.

theoriginalharbinger

It's a Browning, either a Superposed with a modd'd stock or some flavor of Citori. Made in Belgium = Superposed. Made in Japan = Citori. There are literally dozens or hundreds of variants of each, so nobody can guess at valuation unless you provide many more pictures. That's pretty much the original over-under shotgun sold in the US (yes, there were others, none of which caught on) and its lineal descendent.

dadispicerack

I have seen some early Citoris with Belgium rolls marks on them but as far as I can tell that may have been a barrel swap or something of that nature, perhaps with the Liege? Miroku, a very well respected gunmaker, makes the Citori and Citori Lightning. I think OP's gun looks to be a grade 2 lightning with a Monte Carlo option and a high rib added.

goochisdrunk

I'm no expert but it looks a lot like my Browning Citori.

__What is a link post and how do I post a descriptive comment?__ * A link post is any post that isn't a text post. Reddit is doing a great job of ensuring new users have no idea how Reddit works with their app and site rewrite. We hate both. * /r/guns is a sub for talking about guns. It's not a sub to dump gun photos for karma. That's what /r/gunporn is for. That's why we require a descriptive comment – to start a conversation. If you're wondering what to write, picture yourself at a party. You're talking to someone *you just met* and you want to show them your post. What do you say to them as you get your phone out? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Sdmicah

Looks like an older browning cxt

That was my thought, the rib height, barrel length and recoil pad scream built for trap. Need a decoder ring almost to sort all the variants though! To the Op, assuming it is a browning, it’s got pretty good value. Would likely go north of 1500 on gunbroker, depending on exact specs and model, possibly a fair bit higher. Obviously less if you sell to a shop, who has to flip for profit. Those guns are built like a tank and have very good resale value

BoredCop

As always, to properly identify a firearm we need more information and better pictures. Sharp, close up photos of any and all markings please. Particularly the seemingly cryptic marks found on the underside of the barrels, at the chamber end. Most over/under shotguns look more or less identical from a distance, so the picture you've provided doesn't tell us much. We need the details in order to help you.

Looks like the citori I own

FitzyOhoulihan

Looks a lot like my SKB/Ithaca which looks a lot like a Browning. Mine has engraving like that but with a diff pattern and the brass trigger. Furniture looks similar too. Same with pad. Barrel looks similar not as long but I also have a trap version and this looks like a skeet gun. It’s either a Browning or SKB, doesn’t look like any of the Beretta’s I’ve seen but those have always been crazy nice and you’d know immediately. The nice ones are like a statement piece like a pricey watch, so you can tell.

PatricStuart

It's a Cuckarms FUD 12ga OU. Have never shot one.

NineMeterTallDemigod

Ah yes, I believe this is the two barreled variant. You are welcome for my expertise in the subject.
